Abstract

Higher number of students recruitment in Islamic Education Institutions is one indicator of an institution quality. Islamic educational institutions are currently required to be able to promote their institutions to expand the students’ recruitment. This paper aims to describe the implication of brand image in the promotion of Islamic educational institutions on student recruitment. The method used in this paper is literature review. Books, articles, websites, laws relating to brand image, brand management, higher education and marketing management are collected, read, compared, and analyzed to identify the roles of brand image in promoting the Islamic educational institutions. The results of this study indicate that there are three implications of brand image in the promotion of Islamic educational institutions on student recruitment: brand image is strengthening the position of Islamic educational institutions, brand image is illustrating the effectiveness of the institution, and the brand image can be used as a reference in designing the institution identity.

Abstract

The concept of contextual learning seeks to give meaning to each learning activity by trying to connect new knowledge with previous knowledge possessed by students. Contextual learning is also a means of building awareness and shaping the self-identity of students as part of a society that has a culture. Learning activities must help humans in carrying out their existence in the environment where they live, both in the smallest scope to the national scope as citizens. This study tries to describe the Implementation of Local Culture-Based Contextual Learning in Banyumas and the obstacle of implementation . This research uses qualitative field research with case studies. This study found that the implementation of contextual learning based on local culture was carried out by using (1) physical culture such as food, Banyumas musical instruments as a source of learning (2) field trips and observations as learning strategies of Contextual Learning method. The obstacles of contextual learning practice in this school are (1) the number of teacher who understand about this culture (2) most of parents have different cultures.

Abstract

A brand is an image as well as an identity for an educational institution. Thus the brand becomes one of the aspects that can encourage students to choose a school. The local cultural curriculum is one of the strengths for a school in building its uniqueness and identity. So it is common for educational institutions develop their school brand using local wisdom as a object. This study aims to narrate how brand management through a local culture-based curriculum at SMA N 1 Sokaraja is worked. A qualitative approach is used in this study. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation studies. Research subjects were selected using purposive sampling method. Principals, vice principals for curriculum and subject subject became participants in this study. The results of this study indicate that brand management is realized through Pendidikan Berbasis Keunggulan Lokal (PBKL) at SMA N 1 Sokaraja. The presence of PBKL as a brand identity has succeeded in forming a brand image by presenting symbolic benefits for students. This research can be used as a reference in creating a school brand development model in Banyumas.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to examine how microteaching is implemented to enhance the fundamental teaching skills of future Social Studies teachers. This research employed a quantitative descriptive approach, utilizing observation rubrics and performance assessment as data collection methods. The study's sample was 18 students enrolled in the Social Studies Teaching program. The results revealed increased scores on essential teaching skills during the second performance. The detailed evaluation covers questioning skills at 72.5, reinforcement skills at 71.7, variation skills at 73.1, explanation skills at 75.4, opening and closing lesson skills at 75.4, discussion and small group skills at 69.5, class management and discipline skills at 73, individual teaching skills at 75.7, and lesson plan preparation skills at 78.8. In summary, prospective Social Studies teachers have effectively developed their teaching skills. However, further guidance is essential, particularly in discussion and small group management.
