Abstract

Program pembinaan pada andikpas merupakan fondasi utama untuk mampu mewujudkan anak didik pemasyarakatan (Andikpas) yang sehat secara jasmani dan juga mental dalam menjalani masa tahanan. Namun, untuk memujudkan program tersebut bukanlah sesuatu yang mudah untuk dilakukan. Oleh sebab itu di butuhkan pemberdayaan Andikpas di Lembaga Pembinaan khusus Anak (LPKA) Kelas II kendari. Pelaksanaan konseling individu serta konseling kelompok merupakan cara yang di lakukan untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut. Konseling Individu dan Konseling kelompok bertujuan untuk mengatasi tingkah laku menyimpang pada andikpas serta mampu menyelesaikan permasalahan yang di hadapi, serta mampu memotivasi diri dan menurunkan kecemasan yang mereka rasakan dalam menjalani masa tahanan. Pada proses konseling individu menggunakan metode attendinng dan konseling kelompok menggunakan metode Assertive training, para andikpas sangat antusias mengikuti setiap tahapan konseling yang diberikan. Hasil Konseling individu yang di lakukan terhadap andikpas menerangkan bahwa beberapa andikpas memiliki ketakutan terhadap masa depan, mendapatkan sanksi sosial dan juga penolakan oleh pihak keluarga dan Masyarakat setelah menjalani masa tahanan. Dan pada konseling kelompok yang di lakukan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan juga pengembangan diri andikpas.Hasilnya adalah andikpas mampu memanfaatkan informasi, memberikan tanggapan dan juga reaksi dari anggota kelompok lainnya. Abstract

This study investigates the experiences of niqab-wearing female students at the State Islamic Institute of Kendari (Institut Agama Islam Negeri – IAIN Kendari), the sole public Islamic higher education institution in Southeast Sulawesi, as they navigate academic life amid prevailing social stigma and the absence of institutional policies regarding niqab usage. The niqab is frequently associated with stereotypes of exclusivity and extremism, and is often perceived as a barrier to social interaction and academic participation. Utilising a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and focus group discussions involving 15 female students who wear the niqab. The findings indicate that the lack of formal regulations concerning the use of the niqab generates ambiguity regarding institutional standards and student behavior. Despite these challenges, participants demonstrate resilience through adaptive strategies, such as using social media platforms for self-expression and solidarity. They also display emotional maturity in managing stigma while remaining active in academic and extracurricular activities. Drawing on Self-Presentation Theory and Social Adjustment Theory, the study reveals that niqab-wearing students employ friendliness, openness, humour, and academic achievement to counter negative perceptions. Social media further serves as a vital space for articulating perspectives and fostering community. This research highlights the need for inclusive policies in Islamic higher education and contributes to broader discussions on religious diversity, gender, and inclusivity within multicultural academic settings in Eastern Indonesia.

Abstract

The family, as the smallest social unit, plays a critical role in shaping individuals’ personality, values, and social competence, yet modern challenges such as marital conflict, communication breakdowns, and socio-economic pressures often disrupt household harmony. Family counseling services are thus essential to strengthen resilience and provide solutions to complex problems. This study examines the implementation of family counseling services at the Family Learning Center (PUSPAGA) and the Regional Technical Implementation Unit for the Protection of Women and Children (UPTD PPA) under the Department of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (DP3A) in Kendari City. Using a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving counselors and clients, and analyzed with Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, supported by triangulation to ensure credibility. The findings indicate that PUSPAGA provides structured services through registration, assessment, consultation, family visits, counseling, and referrals, supported by techniques such as attending, empathy, reflection, exploration, and questioning strategies. The theoretical foundations applied include Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), which helps clients replace irrational with rational thoughts, and Adlerian theory, which emphasizes social interest and lifestyle modification. While PUSPAGA combines counseling with family education, UPTD PPA focuses on initial assessment and referral of severe cases such as domestic violence and sexual abuse to psychologists or legal authorities. The study concludes that both institutions complement each other in addressing family problems and recommends continuous counselor training, stronger collaboration with professional and legal stakeholders, the use of digital platforms to expand access, and the development of structured SOPs to enhance service consistency and impact.

Abstract

 This study aims to determine the interpersonal communication of LAPAS employees in fostering assisted citizens in class II A Kendari Penitentiary. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, data collection in this study uses qualitative methods by observation, interviews, documentation and data analysis. This research involved 9 resource persons, namely 5 LAPAS employees and 4 assisted residents. The results showed that interpersonal communication of LAPAS employees in fostering fostered citizens involved several main aspects, namely. Openness from LAPAS employees is listening to complaints, opinions or ideas, providing good service and clearly providing information about the rules. Empathy of LAPAS employees understands and cares.The supportive attitude of LAPAS employees is in the form of moral support, material support, and assimilation support. The positive attitude of LAPAS employees is to be a good role model, control emotions, direct fostered residents in a good direction. The equality aspect of LAPAS employees is to be fair without any discrimination. Supporting factors for coaching are stakeholders, moral support from employees, premium wages for fostered residents, and security employees. The inhibiting factors of coaching are low awareness of fostered residents, low employee competence, and limited budget.Keywords: Coaching, Fostered Citizen, Interpersonal Communication.
