Abstract

Artikel ini memfokuskan pada peluang IAIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin sebagai sebuah perguruan tinggi untuk mengembangkan diri menjadi sebuah universitas riset. Di masa sekarang, universitas riset adalah sebuah keniscayaan bagi perguruan tinggi agar bisa survive, selain sebagai dharmabakti. Hasilnya, sejumlah upaya telah dilakukan, seperti peningkatan kuantitas penelitian dan publikasi hasil penelitian. Tetapi, upaya-upaya tersebut masih butuh penanganan yang lebih serius dan terarah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze in depth the "Reward System in Realizing Teacher Job Satisfaction at SMAIT An-Nahl Jambi City. This study is a study that uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation as supporting data. Data analysis techniques use qualitative techniques through domain analysis, taxonomy and components, and data is reduced, presented and concluded. The results of the study indicate that: 1) Forms of awards at SMA-IT An-Nahl are salary/honorarium, bonuses, umrah, gold, achievements, performance, praise and gratitude, career levels, leave, allowances and school institutional policies; 2) Forms of teacher job satisfaction at school include continuing to attend SMA-IT An-Nahl, enthusiasm in carrying out daily obligations, positive towards work, cooperation between leaders and subordinates, gratitude for God's blessings; 3) Awards are given at school every three months and once a year; 4) Driving and inhibiting factors in the reward system create teacher job satisfaction at SMA-IT An-Nahl such as incentives to increase teacher motivation. Inhibiting factors include suboptimal funding; and 5) The results achieved from the awards given to teachers are that teachers demonstrate good attitudes and behaviors in accordance with the demands and guidance of the school, teachers continue to teach at An-Nahl. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that apart from the awards given at school, teachers feel job satisfaction because they feel called within themselves to teach.

Abstract

This study was conducted to develop an improved coffee grinder tailored for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to address challenges due to limited resources. The development phase included a broad description, sizing, defining main components, developing technical drawings, manufacturing, and conducting functional tests. The machine had an overall dimension of 743 mm in length, 367 mm in width, and 580 mm in height. It was powered by a 1 HP induction motor with a rotation speed of 1400 rotations per minute (RPM) and a shaft diameter of 19 mm. The prototype achieved a grinding capacity of 23.8 kg/h for acceptable coffee grounds while maintaining a constant grind size, essential for achieving the best flavor and aroma. However, the noise level reached 86.5 dB, requiring hearing protection for prolonged usage. Future investigations should focus on exploring alternative materials and developing noise mitigation strategies, as noise reduction efforts can enhance operator physical and mental health in the coffee production process.

Abstract

Pesantren merupakan salah satu Lembaga yang memiliki peranan penting dalam mencapai tujuan Pendidikan. Di Provinsi Jambi terdapat lebih kurang 214 lembaga Pesantren. Pesantren ini terus berkembang, ada yang konvensional dan modern. Salah satu Pesantren Modern di Kota Jambi adalah Pesantren Ainul Yaqin. Pesantren Ainul Yaqin berdiri semenjak tahun 2001, namun kurang berkembang dan cenderung stagnan padahal berada di pusat kota. Berdasarkan observasi, masalah utamanya adalah masalah manajemen, sehingga diperlukan pendampingan. Tujuan dari pendampingan adalah untuk meningkatkan kualitas pengelolaan Pesantren Ainul Yaqin Kota Jambi melalui pendampingan penguatan manajemen. Pendampingan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan tahapan (a)Menyiapkan Community Action Plan (CAP) (b) Situation Analysis, (c)Doing with The Community, (d)The Inner Resources Approach, (e)Check (Evaluating and Controlling). Target pendampingan adalah komunitas Pesantren Ainul Yaqin Kota Jambi. Komunitas dipilih Setelah dilakukan studi pendahuluan dan wawancara. Penguatan manajemen pengelolaan berfokus pada manajemen pengelolaan Lembaga, manajemen personalia, manajemen kesiswaan, dan manajemen perpustakaan.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the emotional experiences of pre-service teachers during their Field Teaching Practice (PLP II) at SD Negeri 92 Kendari using the photovoice approach. Employing a qualitative method with a phenomenological design, data were collected through photovoice submissions and semi-structured interviews. The analysis followed three stages of coding: open coding, focused coding, and identification of critical incidents. The findings reveal that participants experienced a range of emotional states throughout the teaching practicum, including fear, anxiety, self-confidence concerns, as well as feelings of happiness, gratitude, and critical reflection. The photovoice technique proved effective in capturing and expressing the participants’ teaching experiences both visually and narratively. However, the study also faced limitations related to time constraints and data collection. This research contributes to the development of reflective methodologies in teacher education and offers insights into the emotional dynamics of novice teaching experiences.Keywords: Photovoice, teaching experience, pre-service teachers, emotional reflection, elementary education

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the utilization of the website as a digital marketing strategy at Madrasah Tsanawiyah, focusing on three main aspects: the effectiveness of website utilization, the features and content provided, and the challenges and obstacles encountered during its implementation. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Informants in this study include the principal, website administrators, social media managers (Instagram and Facebook), teachers, staff, and parents. The data analysis process consists of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, verification, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the school website is quite effective as a promotional tool and information dissemination platform, especially in supporting the student admission process (PPDB). The website includes various features such as registration information, school profile, activity news, and photo galleries. Challenges in its implementation include limited human resources with digital technology expertise, lack of training, infrastructure limitations, and weak integration between work units in managing the school’s digital media. Nevertheless, the website holds significant potential to support the school’s digital marketing strategy, provided it is supported by strengthened human resources, improved infrastructure, and more comprehensive content strategy planning.

Abstract

This study investigates the experiences of niqab-wearing female students at the State Islamic Institute of Kendari (Institut Agama Islam Negeri – IAIN Kendari), the sole public Islamic higher education institution in Southeast Sulawesi, as they navigate academic life amid prevailing social stigma and the absence of institutional policies regarding niqab usage. The niqab is frequently associated with stereotypes of exclusivity and extremism, and is often perceived as a barrier to social interaction and academic participation. Utilising a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and focus group discussions involving 15 female students who wear the niqab. The findings indicate that the lack of formal regulations concerning the use of the niqab generates ambiguity regarding institutional standards and student behavior. Despite these challenges, participants demonstrate resilience through adaptive strategies, such as using social media platforms for self-expression and solidarity. They also display emotional maturity in managing stigma while remaining active in academic and extracurricular activities. Drawing on Self-Presentation Theory and Social Adjustment Theory, the study reveals that niqab-wearing students employ friendliness, openness, humour, and academic achievement to counter negative perceptions. Social media further serves as a vital space for articulating perspectives and fostering community. This research highlights the need for inclusive policies in Islamic higher education and contributes to broader discussions on religious diversity, gender, and inclusivity within multicultural academic settings in Eastern Indonesia.

Abstract

The quality of education is influenced not only by the competence of educators but also by the availability and effective management of adequate facilities and infrastructure. This study aims to examine the management of facilities and infrastructure in improving the quality of education at Nurul Ilmi Integrated Islamic Junior High School, Jambi City. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that facilities and infrastructure management is carried out optimally through systematic planning, stakeholder involvement, alignment with school needs, and compliance with regulations such as the Ministry of Education’s guidelines and BOS funding provisions. Procurement is conducted in stages based on real needs and coordinated with the relevant teams to ensure efficiency and accountability. Available facilities including comfortable classrooms, laboratories, a digital library, a school mosque, and sports areas significantly contribute to effective learning and the formation of students’ Islamic character. This study concludes that well-planned and coordinated facilities management serves as a key strategy to enhance educational quality in integrated Islamic schools.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the marketing strategies of educational services in increasing community interest at MTs Swasta Mamba’ul Ulum Kota Jambi. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the marketing strategy of educational services at MTs Swasta Mamba’ul Ulum is implemented based on Kotler’s 7P service marketing mix. Product is reflected in the quality of graduates who possess noble character, memorize the Qur’an, and actively participate in religious activities. Price is set at an affordable level, adjusted to the economic capacity of parents. Place highlights the school’s location within the Islamic boarding school environment, which fosters a religious atmosphere. Promotion is carried out through direct approaches to the community, alumni networks, and religious activities. People involve professional and dedicated teachers, staff, and pesantren administrators. Process includes integrated intramural learning, extracurricular programs, and Islamic boarding school activities. Physical Evidence is demonstrated through the availability of adequate facilities such as classrooms, mosque, library, dormitory, and extracurricular amenities. Overall, the application of the 7P marketing mix has succeeded in strengthening public trust in the madrasah, even though the facilities are not yet fully modernized.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the Hajarun Najah Foundation's policies in improving the quality of education at An Najah Islamic Junior High School. The purpose of this study is to describe how the foundation's policies are implemented, including improving teacher competency, integrated educational planning, designing a curriculum that integrates general and religious subjects, planning flagship programs, monitoring, supervision, and periodic evaluation, providing educational facilities/infrastructure, social/financial support for students, and involving parents and the madrasah committee. A qualitative descriptive research method was used to describe the policy implementation process in depth. The results show that the implementation of the foundation's policies is systematic and planned, focusing on the holistic development of students. The key to success lies not only in improving teacher competency through training and supervision, integrating general and religious curricula, and providing facilities and scholarships. The active involvement of parents and the madrasah committee also significantly strengthens the educational ecosystem. This study concludes that the synergy between the foundation, the madrasah, and the community is an important foundation for improving the quality of education.
