Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of sewing skills training in increasing the independence of deaf children at Amet Jaya Raha Special High School, Muna Regency. The method used in this research is descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. Informants in this study amounted to 8 people . Informants consisting of 5 main informants, one key informant, and 2 additional informants. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets (observations, interview guides and documentation. The data collection technique used interviews and observation of the data obtained in the field and then analyzed and explained descriptively qualitatively. Until finally it could be concluded that a program could be said to be effective , if the achievement of goals is right on target and on time as a measure of success. With the implementation of this sewing training the SLB has a target to be achieved, namely that students can live independently in the future. The attitude of independence of students related to sewing skills has experienced a new increase reached approximately 50%.This shows progress in forming the independence of deaf children to dedicate to their future.Sewing skills training has an influence on behavior change, in the form of increased knowledge, skills, expertise so that it influences the growth of an attitude of independence. In the process of learning and training is certainly very good. After attending the training there were significant changes and improvements in skills

Abstract

Equal education programs in non-formal education units are an important means of ensuring access to education for students who have been marginalized from formal education. In facing complex challenges such as the inability to access formal education for various reasons, learning strategies are key in achieving educational equality. This research aims to explore various effective learning strategies in the context of equality education in non-formal education units. This type of research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, namely exploring social phenomena through observation, in-depth interviews, and text analysis to understand in depth how these learning strategies are implemented and integrated in non-formal learning environments.. The research results show that effective learning strategies include creating an inclusive learning environment that pays attention to individual needs, providing a curriculum that is relevant and appropriate to the needs of participants, as well as utilizing technology and innovative learning methods consider specific characteristics of equity education, such as experiential learning approaches, distance learning, or technology-based learning. The implication of this research is the importance of developing learning strategies that are adaptive and responsive to the needs of students in equal education in non-formal education units, thereby ensuring that all individuals have equal opportunities to access education and improve their quality of life.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Paket C Program in improving access to further education for school dropouts in Kendari City. The study is motivated by high dropout rates and limited access to formal education. The Paket C Program serves as an alternative pathway to obtain an upper secondary school–equivalent certificate and expand opportunities for higher education or vocational training. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, with participants consisting of learners, tutors, and program administrators selected through purposive sampling. The findings indicate that most participants join the program to obtain certification and enhance their chances of continuing their education. Despite challenges related to limited facilities and attendance consistency, the program provides academic and social benefits. Most graduates show an orientation toward pursuing higher education, supported by personal and family motivation. Overall, the Paket C Program in Kendari City is fairly effective in improving access to further education for school dropouts. Unlike previous studies that focus on program implementation and learning outcomes, this study emphasizes the educational continuity of Paket C graduates, particularly their orientation toward higher education or vocational training. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas Program Paket C dalam meningkatkan akses pendidikan lanjutan bagi anak putus sekolah di Kota Kendari. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih tingginya angka putus sekolah serta terbatasnya akses terhadap pendidikan formal. Program Paket C menjadi jalur alternatif untuk memperoleh ijazah setara SMA dan memperluas peluang melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi maupun pelatihan vokasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Informan penelitian meliputi warga belajar, tutor, dan pengelola program yang dipilih secara purposive. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar peserta mengikuti Program Paket C untuk memperoleh ijazah dan meningkatkan peluang melanjutkan pendidikan. Meskipun masih terdapat kendala berupa keterbatasan fasilitas dan kedisiplinan kehadiran, program ini memberikan manfaat akademik dan sosial. Sebagian besar lulusan menunjukkan orientasi untuk melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi, didukung oleh motivasi pribadi dan keluarga. Secara keseluruhan, Program Paket C di Kota Kendari dinilai cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan akses pendidikan lanjutan bagi anak putus sekolah. Berbeda dengan penelitian sebelumnya yang lebih menekankan pada pelaksanaan dan hasil belajar, penelitian ini berfokus pada keberlanjutan pendidikan lulusan Paket C, khususnya orientasi mereka untuk melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi.
