Abstract

The critical thinking skills of class X-1 students at SMAN 3 Malang are still lacking so they need to be improved considering the importance of these skills in the 21st century. The six indicators of critical thinking that need to be improved are focus, reason, inference, situation, clarity, and overview. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by problem solving padlets in improving students' critical thinking skills in class X-I. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) using the Kemmis & Mc. Taggart. Data on the average increase and completion of critical thinking skills were analyzed using quantitative descriptive. The research results showed that there was an increase in the percentage of students' critical thinking skills by 21.32% from 66.67% in cycle I to 87.99% in cycle II and an N-Gain of 0.64.

Abstract

The era of technology provides many modern developments and innovations. One of them is in the field of education such as learning media. Physics learning media widely uses Augmented Reality (AR). This study aims to analyze network visualization, AR visualization overlay, and AR local wisdom in physics learning research as well as the distribution of media, trends, and opportunities for AR research and AR local wisdom in physics learning research. The bibliometric research method uses two keywords in the Scopus database, namely AR and AR Local Wisdom. Based on the results of the network visualization study, AR is defined as 8 clusters, and AR local wisdom is defined as 12 clusters. The innovation obtained based on the study of overlay visualization of current topics related to AR research and AR Local Wisdom, both of which are in critical thinking, has found research improvements for 7 years. The Physics Conference Series Journal is the source that provides the most contributions. The trend of AR local wisdom related to android applications in batik learning and the implementation of AR local wisdom in physics courses has not been done much and needs to be done.

Abstract

This study is a preliminary study aimed at developing virtual reality technology-based learning media that integrates Javanese culture into Science Physics for High School students. The learning media, MENDUA (Menembus Dimensi Wayang) aims to help students learn Newton's Law by providing a special visualization of the Mahabharata story known as Wayang in Indonesia. This study focuses on the analysis of the validity of the MENDUA learning media by applying the ADDIE research and development method (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The data collection technique used a validation sheet that is reviewed from six aspects; visual, interest, useful, accurate, legitimate, and structured. The data analysis technique used a Likert scale with a percentage calculation that can be said to be valid or feasible if it meets the validation criteria with a percentage of ≥ 60%. The results of the study showed that the validity of the MENDUA media was declared very valid and feasible to be tested by getting a final score of 89.99%. Thus, it can be stated that the MENDUA media is feasible to be used in learning to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes in learning physics on Newton's Law material. This preliminary study highlights the use of VR-based MENDUA is a new way to learn Physics for students. These results are very important for the further development of MENDUA and other VR-based learning media in the future.
