Abstract

This community service aims to increase the capacity of MSMEs in Situ Udik Village in designing a digital-based business framework using the Business Model Canvas (BMC) approach. Through training and mentoring, participants are guided to develop a business model that includes nine main elements, from customer segments to cost structures. The results of the activity showed that most participants succeeded in developing a more systematic business framework, recognizing business strengths and weaknesses, and formulating medium-term development strategies. In addition, participants began to integrate digital promotions through social media and design more effective distribution channels. Several MSMEs have also begun to utilize simple applications for financial recording. These findings indicate that BMC is effective as a tool for developing digital business models, encouraging MSMEs to be more adaptive and competitive in facing market changes and preparing sustainable business growth strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to provide empirical evidence regarding whether related party transactions (RPTs) are really a matter for company financial performance. It also investigates other possible factors that may influence firm performance such Covid 19 pandemic situation, company size and sales growth. The samples are obtained from companies recorded in the LQ 45 index in 2019 which were studied from 2018 to 2021. The results shows that RPTs do not significantly influence firm performance. This happens because companies do not rely on related party relationships in the sales or purchasing process. In addition, Covid 19 and company size have a significant negative impact on ROE and ROA. Whereas sales growth has a significant positive relationship on firm performance. This indicates that having a large asset investment does not guarantee an increase in the company's financial performance. A strategy that focuses on increasing sales will be more profitable

Abstract

This study seeks to determine how environmental, social and governance (ESG) scores and corporate political connections jointly shape stakeholder reactions, captured through firm-level valuation (Tobin’s Q) and stock returns, among Indonesian listed companies. Using firm-level panel data for listed companies over 2020-2023, this quantitative study applies Generalized Least Squares estimation in Stata, and augments the analysis with contextual information drawn from peer-reviewed journals and reputable online sources. Stronger ESG scores raise firm valuations (Tobin’s Q) without enhancing total stock returns, whereas political connections lower Tobin’s Q by about 0.17 yet deliver an average excess return of roughly 0.69 percentage points. The evidence indicates that sustainability credentials and political affiliations influence performance in mutually reinforcing yet distinct ways: stronger ESG scores are associated with durable gains in enterprise value, whereas political connections translate into only short-lived share-price uplifts. Consequently, the findings encourage executives to invest in substantive ESG improvements as a foundation for lasting value creation, while cautioning regulators that the abnormal returns enjoyed by politically connected firms may stem from rent-seeking rather than genuine efficiency.

Abstract

Panancangan Village is located in Cibadak Sub-District, Lebak District, Banten Province. Several village residents had professions as oyster mushroom farmers and the results of cultivating these mushrooms could provide residents with an income of IDR 11,000 per kilo. During initial observations, the community empowerment team found that there were two main problems. The first was environmental problem. The environment around the village office looked barren and the air around the village feels very hot during the day. The second was social problem. Lack of residents skills and knowledge in the fields of mushroom management and food packaging, product marketing, and entrepreneurship, causes farmers to only sell their mushrooms in raw form. The objectives of this community service are providing education to village residents to increase environmental conservation awareness and increasing social development through training and education. Method used is through training both non-practical and practical training in plant cultivation and oyster mushroom management, food packaging, marketing, and entrepreneurship. The evaluation results showed that the training was effective and provided positive benefits for environmental and social improvements.

Abstract

The FEB-UT National Community Service Program (PkM) is here to answer the real challenges faced by PKK women in Pondok Cabe Udik Village. Based on the needs analysis, three root problems were revealed: limited practical skills, lack of innovation in creating business opportunities, and weak foundations of family financial management. As a solution, the PkM team carries a comprehensive strategy for women's economic empowerment. The program does not only stop at awareness, but also steps into hands-on training and ongoing mentoring to turn potential into a real home-based venture. The program is carried out with a focus on three main activities, namely training on processing used cooking oil waste into value-added products such as candles and soap, home business development training through shoe washing services, and education and consulting on family financial management. The training is carried out in stages through presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and interactive discussions. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the aspects of knowledge, skills, and motivation of participants to develop a household-based small business. Participants also began to understand the importance of environmentally friendly household waste management and apply green economy principles in daily activities. In addition, this activity strengthens the participants' ability to manage family finances independently and efficiently. Overall, PkM activities have a positive impact on improving economic welfare, environmental awareness, and social independence of participants, and are expected to become a model of sustainable community empowerment at the local level.
