Abstract

Purpose: In the arena of digital banking, internet banking has become a hotcake. As internet banking becomes an increasingly integral component of the financial services sector, understanding the determinants that drive or inhibit its adoption among active customers is crucial for both banks and policymakers. Research Methodology: The research employs a quantitative. A structured questionnaire were used to collect data from the customers, focusing on key constructs such as technological device self-efficacy (TSE), user-friendly (UF), beneficial (B) , security concerns (SC), features of the apps (FA), trust, social influence (SI). In this study answer sheets were provided to 350 banking service consumers out of which only 174 answered the questions. After discarding the incomplete answer sheets, a total of 146 were found suitable for the study. Statistical analyses, including descriptive analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression, are applied to identify and quantify the relationships between these factors and behavioral intentions. Results: According to the findings, the intention of users to use internet banking services in Bangladesh was significantly predicted by the user-friendly (B = 0.708, t = 5.585; p < 0.000) and features of the applications (B = 0.392, t = 2.443; p < 0.016). On the other hand, in Bangladesh, the behavioral intention to use internet banking is most significantly impacted by user friendly. Limitations: The study is only geographically focused on Bangladesh and may ignore the influence of external factors (such as regulatory changes and economic fluctuations), which may significantly influence consumer adoption decisions. Contribution: The study will contribute to the academic literature by extending the existing theories of technology adoption in the context of internet banking in Bangladesh. The findings of this study will assist strategic decisions, policy formulation, and initiatives to promote greater adoption and effective use of Internet banking services.

Abstract

Purpose: The main objective of this study is to determine the scenario of e-waste management from a global and Bangladeshi perspective and navigate potential business prospects in the procedure of e-waste management minimizing health hazards. Research Methodology: The research was conducted by collecting data from reports and research papers from different international and national sources, interviews with 500 residents of Dhaka City, and five no. of recycling companies in Bangladesh. Upon descriptive analysis of the scenarios of global and Bangladeshi e-waste management, we tried to establish a relationship between proper e-waste management and business prospects. Results: The study found that home appliances and cell phones form the majority of e-waste. Informal recycling practices are responsible for high environmental and health risks. Moving towards a structured, formal recycling process can bring significant economic benefits in the form of employment opportunities and recovery of resources from e-waste. Conclusions: Effective e-waste management, supported by advanced technology and strong policy enforcement, is essential for protecting health and the environment while generating economic and employment opportunities. Limitations: The sample for the interview was taken from Dhaka City only. A larger population could make the study richer. Contribution: The study suggests setting up advanced recycling facilities and transforming entire e-waste management practices through internationally and cooperatively adopted sustainable measures. It emphasizes developing proactive policies and enhancing public awareness of proper e-waste management with a view to effectively facing the challenges and grabbing the business opportunities available from the e-waste management process. Novelty: This research has tried to bring out economic benefits and business opportunities from the process of e-waste management. It highlights that structured and sustainable e-waste management fosters economic growth, mitigates health hazards, and saves the environment.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between parental involvement, classroom climate, and behavioral problems and their collective impact on children’s academic achievement. The research explores how parental involvement, classroom climate, and behavioral issues impact academic achievement in rural and urban Bangladeshi school-going children. 200 Bangladeshi secondary school students in grades VI–VII (100 in rural and 100 in urban areas; 50:50 gender ratio) participated in this study. Data was gathered by researchers using standardized instruments, such as child behavior checklists, classroom climate scales, parental involvement scales, and Personal Information Form (PIF). With a model that was a robust fit (Adjusted R2 = 0.754, F = 203.79, p < 0.05), the study deployed multiple regression to examine factors associated with academic success and found significant impacts on Parental Involvement (positive), Behavior Problems (negative), and Classroom Climate (positive). It is noted that academic achievement is strongly impacted by socio-economic status, place of residence, and their interaction (p < 0.05). This emphasizes how crucial these factors of context are. The study's limitations include the potential influence of unmeasured variables like teacher quality and regional disparities, which could affect academic outcomes. Additionally, reliance on self-reported parental involvement and classroom climate data might introduce biases, and the urban-rural comparison may oversimplify diverse contextual differences within these areas. The findings will guide educational psychologists, policymakers, and institutions in developing targeted strategies for improving student outcomes across different regions.

Abstract

The COVID-19 epidemic transformed education, prompting a rise in the adoption of Web 2.0 tools in Dhaka's colleges to improve digital literacy, teacher-student connection, and student engagement. A quantitative approach was used, with 200 students from five institutions in Dhaka city receiving structured questionnaires. The learning engagement is the outcome variable in this study, and the predictor factors are academic year, gender (1=male, 2=female), web 2.0 usage (1=yes, 0=no), and web 2.0 tools literacy. The influence of learning engagement was assessed using SPSS and Microsoft Excel, which included regression analysis, t-tests, ANOVA, and descriptive statistics. Findings showed that 78% of students said they were more involved, and 85% said that Google Docs and Padlet had helped them collaborate better. However, issues including inadequate teacher preparation (50%) and restricted access to technology (48%), as well as distractions (56%), were noted. According to regression analysis, digital literacy and Web 2.0 usage were significant predictors of learner engagement (R2 = 0.74). By concentrating on a developing nation, this study offers insights into the acceptance and obstacles of Web 2.0 tools in environments with limited resources, which makes it novel. The study concludes that although Web 2.0 technologies improve educational opportunities, their full potential requires filling infrastructural deficiencies, educating teachers, and encouraging digital literacy.  These findings provide valuable suggestions for educators and policymakers and add to the conversation on technology-integrated education.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines how digital banking has affected Bangladesh's banking industry by emphasizing its ramifications, difficulties, and revolutionary influences. Research Methodology: With 200 participants and secondary sources, this study employs a mixed-methods approach and concludes that digital banking improves financial inclusion, convenience, and security.  However, obstacles to complete adoption include societal problems, legislative restrictions, and inadequate infrastructure.  While inequalities in digital literacy and geographic access continue to be major concerns, security, accessibility, and time efficiency are also important contributing variables. Results: Although the results highlight the potential of digital banking to modernize the banking sector and promote economic growth, their wider application is limited by factors, including their geographical concentration and dependence on self-reported data. Conclusions: Bangladesh has enormous potential for equitable growth and financial innovation compared with digital banking. Nevertheless, for widespread adoption, infrastructure deficiencies, digital illiteracy, and security issues must be addressed. Limitations: This study's limitations include its dependence on self-reported data, regional focus, and inadequate technology infrastructure that affects the uptake of digital banking. Contribution:  This study advances our knowledge of how digital banking is changing conventional banking institutions and provides practical advice to industry executives and legislators on how to remove obstacles and create a more robust and inclusive financial system. Novelty: This study emphasizes financial inclusion, technological obstacles, and specific recommendations for sustainable growth and innovation, highlighting the revolutionary influence of digital banking on Bangladesh's banking industry.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the challenges, Benefits, and various determinants which play an important role in adopting social media among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Bangladesh, based on the (Technology-Organization-Environment) TOE Model. The TOE framework seeks to understand the significant factors influencing the decision to adopt social media in SMEs in Bangladesh. Research methodology: In the study, a random sampling method was used to select a representative sample from the existing active SMEs in different regions of Bangladesh. A structured questionnaire was designed to measure constructs such as relative advantage. Preliminary data were collected from 365 small and medium enterprises through field studies. Then the survey data were analyzed using logistic regression (L.R.) of the independent variables included in the TOE framework Results: The outcomes of the study found that only 5 variables: relative advantage, complexity, consistency, top management's assistance, and innovative management factors significantly influence SMEs' decisions to adopt social media. Limitations: The busy schedules of the respondents are key limitations for the study along with the study area. If the study could explore more districts besides Dhaka city, then the study outcomes would be more extensive. Contribution: The results from this study will help SME foundations, research institutes, and government policymakers to formulate strategies for optimal use of social media in SMEs.

Abstract

Purpose: The main objective of this study is to determine what needs to be managed and what obstacles make this World Heritage Site more attractive to tourists through sustainable development. Research Methodology:  The study was mainly quantitative in nature. To acquire primary data, the upazilas of Koira and Dumuria in the Khulna district, as well as Shyamnagar, Debhata, and Tala in the Satkhira district, were conveniently sampled because a sizable portion of Sundarbans are located there. A total of 365 individuals from five preselected locations completed a standardized questionnaire to provide information, and respondents were selected using a simple random sampling procedure. Statistics, such as frequency and percentage, and the logistic regression (LR) model were used to examine the data. Results: Among the independent variables included in the NES framework, only eight variables—advantages of natural diversity, natural complications, compatibility, multi-culture opportunity, diversity of life, job opportunity, GDP contribution, and income opportunity—significantly influenced the sustainable development of tourism in the Sundarbans area. Limitations: This research is based on the selected sample about the sustainability, protection, and promotion of Sundarbans, but most of the respondents had limited ideas about these key issues. Contributions: If a sustainable communication system and a standard resort or hotel-motel are built, domestic and foreign tourists will be interested. Additionally, specific policies and adequate security arrangements should be implemented. Above all, the concerned ministries of the government should come forward to create awareness among the people living in the Sundarban area to protect the natural diversity of the region.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to identify the significant factors influencing the learning habits of secondary-level students. Research methodology: This study examined the learning habits of 120 students from 12 high schools in three categories throughout three surrounding cities in the Dhaka Division. This study used a descriptive survey research design. A Purposive sampling approach was applied to select three districts from the Dhaka division, and 12 secondary schools were selected from the three districts. These 120 respondents were chosen using a simple random sampling method belonging to classes 6–10 and ages 12–16. Results: The average age was 14.0 2.3 years. The majority of the students (39.2%, n = 47) came from families with limited income, and most of their mothers were not working (77.5%, n = 93). Furthermore, most students (39.2%, n = 47) were from poor-class families. Among the three factors influencing learning habits, two (gender and residence status) were statistically significant, but working mothers were statistically insignificant. Limitations: The results of this study may not accurately reflect the entire situation because data from only 120 students from three districts in the Dhaka division were collected. Contribution: There is no statistical relationship between study habits and students’ mothers’ job status. However, gender and residence had an important influence on students’ learning habits. Novelty: The researcher suggests that educators and school authorities work together to convince students how to build efficient study routines and boost their academic and future achievements.
