Abstract

Culture is all the results of human work, feelings and creations, namely the entire complex way of life, including knowledge, belief, art, morals, customary law and all other abilities and habits acquired by humans as members of society. One of the cultural relics is the Kusmala inscription at the Airlangga Kediri Museum. Philology can be interpreted as love of words or it can also be a love of speaking, speaking with arguments. That is the reason why philologists always play around and like words and texts. This research is qualitative research. This research aims to examine the cultural values of the Kusmala inscription. Data collection was carried out using test and interview methods. This research aims to analyze the contents of the Kusmala inscription, as for the informant named Novi BMW. Research data analysis is descriptive. The results of this research discuss cultural values, as well as the meaning contained in the Kusmala inscription

Abstract

The intrinsic element is the most important element in building a literary work, especially a novel. The objective of this research is to provide a classification of the emotional dynamics expressed by the main character in the fiction novel that is being analyzed. The data source is written data source in the form of London love story novel. This research uses a qualitative approach and belongs to the type of descriptive research. The problem that the author investigates in this study is how to classify the emotional dynamics of the main character in the novel London love story, as well as what causes those emotional dynamics of the main character in the novel London love story. The results revealed that there are 4 dynamics contained in the novel London Love Story by Tisa Ts. The 4 dynamics include: Basic emotions (pleasure, anger, fear, and sadness); Emotions associated with sensor stimulation; Emotions related to self-assessment; and Emotions related to other people. Further, we found 2 emotional dynamics in the novel London Love Story by Tisa TS included the dynamics of knowledge and the dynamics of feelings.

Abstract

The community service activities carried out by the author and his team are one of the actions that originate from a sense of empathy and concern for social phenomena that occur in the Indonesian educational environment. One of these social phenomena is the problem of developing the Merdeka curriculum, especially in educational units that have the label Special Schools. Educators at Special Schools need direction regarding the implementation of independent curriculum development and all forms of school optimization. Community service activities aim to help Special Schools develop the Merdeka curriculum according to the situation and conditions of the school. Curriculum development will optimize school conditions. If school conditions are optimal, then automatically the teaching staff and students will feel optimal in developing their own wealth. The Special School targeted in this community service action is a school that focuses on special children with autism. Autism is a disorder that occurs in the brain and nerves, affecting the sufferer's behavior and attitude. Autistic children should not be underestimated or even ignored. Autistic children need us as fellow humans to support and love their condition. Keywords: Special School, Autism, Independent Curriculum

Abstract

The art of music is part of student sub-subjects at primary and secondary education levels, and is an extra school curriculum activity with the hope of increasing interest that supports multiple intelligences (music) and student creativity. The music practice process has several learning method approaches, one of which is the improve method which is seen as able to support increasing students' intelligence and creativity. So the aim of this research is to test the effect of music improvement training methods on students' creativity and intelligence. Real experimental research was carried out using a pretest-post test design model involving a control group. Data was collected through checklists (assessment sheets) from three music instructors to measure musical creativity and intelligence. The results of the hypothesis testing analysis through the paired sample t test showed that there was a positive and significant influence of the improvement method on musical intelligence, both in the experimental group and the control group; there was a positive and significant influence of the music improvement method on students' creativity in the experimental group, whereas in the control group there was no evidence of an increase in creativity; and there is a significant difference in musical intelligence and increased creativity between the experimental group, namely students who practice music using improved methods, and the control group, namely students who practice using non-improved methods.

Abstract

This study examines the symbolic capital of power and the value of character education in the novel Pasung Jiwa by Okky Madasari. The source of data in this study is the novel Pasung Jiwa by Okky Madasari, while the data are in the form of phrases, words, or sentences that contain forms of symbolic capital of power and the value of character education. Data collection techniques used in the form of reading, library, and note-taking techniques, while data analysis techniques in the form of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The findings obtained from this study consist of (1) forms of symbolic capital of power which are symbolized by position, image, social status, and authoritarian parenting to perpetuate their power; and (2) character education values, namely religious character values, honest character values, and hard work character values.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model supported by audio-visual media in improving critical thinking skills of elementary school students in science subjects. The research was conducted at SDN Kalinganyar, Sumenep, using a quantitative experimental method with a saturated sampling technique involving fifth-grade students. Data collection was performed through tests and observation sheets, followed by statistical analysis using SPSS. The results show a significant improvement in critical thinking skills in the experimental class compared to the control class. The posttest average score of the experimental group reached 84.27, significantly higher than the control group’s average of 70.60. Hypothesis testing using an independent sample t-test revealed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating that the PBL model combined with audio-visual media has a statistically significant impact on students’ critical thinking abilities. The use of visual media enhances student engagement, motivation, and understanding by providing contextual and multisensory learning experiences. This research concludes that integrating PBL with audio-visual support is an innovative and effective strategy for developing 21st-century learning skills, particularly in fostering critical thinking among elementary students.

Abstract

The improvement of human resources is a form of long-term investment to ensure that the nation has excellent and competent individuals. The government continuously launches various programs so that the community can pursue education up to the university level. One of these programs is the Kartu Indonesia Pintar (KIP) scholarship. The KIP scholarship is provided for those who are underprivileged. However, information about this scholarship is usually obtained relatively only from schools without sufficient socialization in the community. This community service team carried out a socialization program in Balongbendo District, Sidoarjo, because most of the community members in that area were not aware of the existence of the KIP scholarship and the benefits it offers. The Unitomo community service team conducted the socialization in three stages: the planning stage, the implementation stage, and the reflection stage. In the planning stage, the team arranged the schedule for the service activities. In the implementation stage, the team provided socialization regarding the mechanisms and the benefits that students can obtain if they receive the scholarship. Finally, in the reflection stage, the team conducted a Q&A session about the KIP scholarship. The activity was attended by 77 members of the PKK women’s organization in Balongbendo. Many of the participants raised questions, as they felt this scholarship brings significant benefits for underprivileged communities.   Peningkatan sumber daya manusia merupakan bentuk investasi jangka panjang agar negara ini memiliki individu yang unggul dan kompeten. Pemerintah senantiasa meluncurkan berbagai program agar masyarakt dapat memnempuh pendidikan hingga di perguruan tinggi. Salah satunya adalah beasiswa Karti Indonesia Pintar (KIP). Beasiswa KIP adalah beasiswa yang diberikan kepada mereka yang tidak mampu. Namun, informasi ini biasanya relative di dapat dari sekolah tanpa ada sosialisasi di masayarakat. Tim pengabdian masyarakat (abdimas) kali ini melakukan sosialisasi di Wilayah Kecamatan Balongbendo Sidoarjo karena sebagian besar masyarakat di wilyah tersebut tidak mengetahui adanya beasiswa KIP, beserta benefit apa saa yang diperoleh. Tim pengabdian masyarakat Unitomo kali ini melakukan sosialisasi dengan tiga tahap.  Tahap perencanaan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap refleksi. Pada tahap perencanaan, tim abdimas mengenai waktu pelaksanaan pemgabdian. Pada tahap pelaksanaan, tim abdimas melakukan sosialisasi mengenai mekanisme, dan keuntungan apa saja yang diperoleh mahasiswa jika mendapatkan beasiswa tersebut. Selanjutnya, pada tahap refleksi, tim abdimas melakukan sesi tanya jawab terhadap beasiswa KIP. Kegiatan tersebut telah diikuti 77 peserta ibu PKK di Wilayah Balongbendo. dan banyak dari anggota PKK yang mengajukan pertanyaan karena merasa beasiswa ini memberikan keuntungan bagi mansyarakat yang tidak mampu.
