Abstract

The aim of this service is to provide knowledge to the Pentukrejo village community about the dangers of using used cooking oil and use it as dishwashing soap, cloth, and instill in the community about loving the environment and providing skills to the community to gain experience in making soap. So that it can be used as a business if made in large quantities. The community service participants were PKK women from Pentukrejo village. The implementation method of the service includes preparation, implementation (presentation, making practice, mentoring), and reporting. The result of this dedication is to provide knowledge about the use of used cooking oil into washing soap and providing knowledge about the dangers of used cooking oil for health and the environment. From this dedication, it is hoped that the people of Pentukrejo village can use used cooking oil to make laundry soap and it can apply love for the environment and love for body health.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menambah pengetahuan masyarakat tentang komposter dan memberikan keterampilan kepada masyarakat untuk membuat komposter sederhana dari botol bekas dan limbah rumah tangga. Pengabdian dilakukan kepada ibu PKK RT. 01 dan RT. 02 Dusun Tegalrejo selama kurang lebih 8 bulan. Metode pengabdian ini dilakukan melalui sosialisasi dengan warga untuk menyampaikan pengetahuan tentang komposter. Selain itu digunakan juga metode workshop dan praktik pembuatan komposter sederhana. Adapun hasil pengabdian ini yaitu: 1) Pengetahuan masyarakat tentang komposter meningkat, dapat dilihat dari 40% responden meningkat pengetahuannya tentang pemisahan sampah organik dan non organik, 73% responden meningkat pengetahuannya tentang alat bahan membuat komposter, 70% responden meningkat pengetahuannya tentang cara pembuatan komposter, 63% responden meningkat pengetahuannya terkait manfaat komposter; dan 2) 76,7% responden dapat membuat komposter secara mandiri.

Abstract

Disaster mitigation education curriculum can increase knowledge, level of risk perception, and individual and school preparedness for disasters. Thus, it is necessary to apply it in schools, especially in disaster-prone areas. The purpose of this community service was to provide knowledge and skills for integrating disaster mitigation education into the learning curriculum in elementary school. This program was held in SD Negeri 02 Tegalmulyo and attended by 10 teachers. The method was a training program by workshop consisting of planning, implementation, and evaluation activities. The activities began with an introduction, interactive dialogue, group work, and lesson plan development. The evaluation program consists of a pre-test, a post-test, and a teacher response questionnaire. The results of the implementation showed that the community service program received a positive response from the participants. Participants considered that most of the expectations and objectives of the workshop had been fulfilled. An increase in knowledge and skills regarding the integration of disaster mitigation education into the curriculum. The teacher's response to the workshop was categorized as good. The simple lesson plan that I made was also quite good. Thus, this workshop is effective in increasing knowledge and skills related to disaster mitigation education.
