Abstract

This study focuses on investigating the relationship between water temperature, water pH, and residual water chlorine with the presence of Aedes sp. larvae in the RW 06 area of North Gandaria Village, Kebayoran Baru District, South Jakarta. Utilizing an analytical cross-sectional research design, the study encompasses a population of 667 houses in RW 06, with a sample size of 92 houses determined through Proportional Simple Random Sampling. The analysis employs chi-square tests to examine the associations between the variables. The findings reveal that there is no significant relationship between water temperature and the presence of Aedes sp. larvae (P-value = 0.659) and no significant relationship between water pH and the presence of Aedes sp. larvae (P-value = 0.434). However, the research does identify a noteworthy association between residual water chlorine and the presence of Aedes sp. larvae (P-value = 0.000). This emphasizes the importance of water chlorine levels in influencing the presence of Aedes sp. larvae in the specified area. The study's outcomes contribute valuable insights to the management of water quality in the context of Aedes sp. larvae control.

Abstract

Depot Air Minum or abbreviated as DAM is an industrial company that treats raw water into drinking water and sells it directly to consumers in the form of bottled drinking water which is relatively cheaper and more affordable. The quality of water produced from refilling drinking water depots has recently deteriorated due to frequent problems such as refilling drinking water storage devices that do not have sterilizers, have low bactericidal efficiency, or distributors who do not know the quality of water, the type of raw water used, filling equipment, good drinking water storage tanks and their maintenance and treatment of treated water and lack of monitoring of filling drinking water storage tanks do not allow the quality of the filling water produced to meet the specified quality standards. The results of 20 drinking water depots that were observed, the number of drinking water depots that met the requirements for the bacteriological quality of drinking water (positive) and qualified for the quality of sanitary hygiene were 91.6% then the number of drinking water depots that met the requirements for bacteriological quality but did not qualify for the quality of drinking water sanitary hygiene quality was 8.33%. Then the number of drinking water depots that do not meet the requirements for bacteriological quality (negative) but meet the requirements for the quality of drinking water depot sanitation hygiene is 37.5% while drinking water depots that do not meet the requirements for bacteriological quality but do not meet the requirements for the quality of drinking water depot sanitation hygiene is 62.5%. To reduce the negative impact that can endanger the community as a result of drinking water depots that do not meet the requirements, researchers suggest that the state of sanitary hygiene in each drinking water depot be further improved, both in terms of the environment, equipment, handlers, and raw water.

Abstract

Work stress is a pressure that arises from the work environment and individual characteristics of workers that can affect the thought process, way of working, emotions and physical condition of a person. If work stress occurs at a high level and is not properly controlled, it can reduce worker productivity. Work stress can be influenced by several factors, including social area factors, individual area factors, and work area factors. This study aims to find out "The Relationship of Social Area Factors (Noise), Individual Area Factors (Individual Characteristics), and Work Area Factors (Workload and Interpersonal Relationships) to Work Stress in Workers of the Spinning Department at PT. Acryl Textile Mills, Tangerang in 2024". The discussions in this study are the social area (noise), individual area (age, education level, marital status, and working period), work area (workload and interpersonal relationships). This study is a type of analytical survey research in the form of a cross sectional study design. Data collection was carried out by measuring noise intensity and questionnaires in workers related to social area (noise), individual area (age, education level, marital status, working period), work area (workload and interpersonal relationships) in the Spinning Department at PT. Acryl Textile Mills. This study was analyzed using a statistical test using the Chi-square method. Based on the results of research from 81 workers in the Spinning Department of PT. Acryl Textile Mills, the results of workers who experienced work stress were obtained, namely, 67 workers (82.7%) experienced mild stress and 14 workers (17.3%) experienced moderate stress. Based on the results of bivariate analysis, it can’t be shown that there is a significant relationship between individual area factors (level of education) and work stress with p values (0.101) > 0.05.

Abstract

Mycobacterium tuberculosis is the bacterium causing tuberculosis, which can affect the lungs. In 2012, Banten Province reported 7,327 cases per 100,000 population of pulmonary TB. In Lebak Regency, 115 children had TB at Mandala Community Health Center in Cibadak District. According to the Ministry of Health, TB control efforts include health promotion, TB surveillance, risk factor control, case finding and management, immunization, and preventive medication. Poor environmental conditions can increase TB transmission risks, necessitating prevention and management measures. Preventive actions include maintaining cleanliness and humidity in homes, regularly opening doors and windows for air circulation, allowing sunlight to enter, and covering the mouth when coughing. The objective of this activity is to enhance the knowledge and attitudes of health volunteers, the community, and health centers in early detection of pulmonary TB in their environments. Methods used include lectures, discussions, and quizzes to assess participants' understanding. This community service activity was conducted in June 2024. The outreach results showed an increase in knowledge about pulmonary TB prevention among participants. The community and health volunteers gained a better understanding of the disease.

Abstract

Worms are one of the infectious diseases that are susceptible to occur in school-age children in Indonesia. The highest prevalence of worms occurs in underprivileged population groups and poor environmental sanitation. Children aged 6-12 years are more susceptible to worm infections due to their high curiosity to play intensely with the ground. At that age, children still depend on their parents to maintain personal hygiene. The consequences of worm infections that occur in toddlers or school-age children can cause malnutrition so that children's growth and development are disrupted due to reduced protein and carbohydrate energy and can cause anemia. Worm infections will be reduced and can even be eliminated if efforts are made to live a clean and healthy life such as washing hands with soap, managing food properly, a clean environment and nutritious food. The specific objective is to reduce the prevalence of worms in school-age children in poorly sanitation areas of Indonesia, as well as improve children's health and quality of life through evidence-based interventions. The research was conducted by the purposive sampling method, fecal samples were examined by the sedimentation method using a centrifuge and the behavior of PHBS was assessed using a questionnaire and then analyzed with the Chi-Square statistical test. Results there was no significant association between hand washing behavior with soap, snack habits and rigid mat habits and the incidence of worms
