Abstract

This research was conducted on Scavenger in this study the Nias traditional marriage dowry (Bowo) is very mandatory in carrying out traditional Nias marriages. However, along with the times, the dowry (Bowo) is not easy to fulfill because of the large costs that are borne by the men to carry out traditional Nias marriages and the procedures are no longer carried out as a whole in the Nias area and outside Nias (nomads). The subjects studied were 5 people to search for the determination of informants using pourposive sampling technique, where the sample was taken intentionally and in accordance with the criteria determined by the author. The method used in writing this research is qualitative research. The theory used is the theory of tradition and social change.The results obtained from research in the field of dowry provisions in the procedure for carrying out traditional Nias marriages are determined from the degree of social status of the Nias community which is calculated in the form of dowry (Bowo) as a form of acknowledgment of respect and appreciation for the dignity of women, establishing kinship, and preventing divorce.Keywords: Determination of Dowry, Procedure for Continuing Marriage

Abstract

Pemuda Batak Bersatu is a social organization. The purpose of this organization is to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among the Batak people regardless of religion, and to build a sense of solidarity, tolerance and mutual cooperation. The purpose of this research: 1). To find out the management profile of the United Batak Youth Organization in Pekanbaru City. 2). To find out how the role of the United Batak Youth organization towards the community in Pekanbaru City. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive study. In this case the determination of information using purposive sampling technique. Retrieval of research data is done by interviews, observation, and documentation. The Pemuda Batak Bersatu Organization is an association of Batak people whose activities are socially based. Its role in the community is from a social perspective, namely voluntarily escorting, protecting and assisting both in grieving, marriage or religious activities, as well as serving people who need assistance the Pemuda Batak Bersatu. Abstract

As happened in other metropolitan cities in Indonesia, it turns out that there are still residents of Pekanbaru city who only have a low level of education and income level, including the scavenger community who are usually scattered in the outskirts of Pekanbaru city and many who live in the area. less livable. One of the areas inhabited by the scavenger community in the city of Pekanbaru with residential conditions that are less suitable for habitation is the residential area in the Muara Fajar final disposal area. This study on the life of scavengers began with a concern over the lives of scavengers in general living in slum areas. But they can still survive with all the opportunities and obstacles that exist. Scavenger jobs are not the main choice, but limited education and skills make some people want to do this kind of work. The purpose of this study is to determine the poverty portrait of urban scavengers in Pekanbaru City and to find out the socio-economic life of scavengers in Pekanbaru City. The methods used are descriptive and qualitative methods; The informants in this study were the Muara Fajar TPA supervisor, local RT and scavengers. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation. This study concludes that the portrait of the poverty of scavengers in Pekanbaru City is people who work as scavengers whose economic conditions are weak, which makes them scavengers. The socio-economic life of scavengers is never separated from every collection of used goods and garbage that contains selling value, which is then quoted back by each scavenger. Thus the life of scavengers can be well directed even though their economic income is below the poverty line on a daily basis. Keywords: Portrait, Poverty, Scavengers

Abstract

ABSTRACT The act of plagiarism is very contrary to grades and academics. But in their academic activities, students sometimes do things that are dishonest or cheating, namely plagiarism in completing tasks given by lecturers. Therefore, this study aims to find out how plagiarism acts among students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Riau. This study used purposive sampling method with 125 respondents. The results showed that the plagiarism actions most often done by students were (1) Changing the arrangement of other people's works without including sources with a percentage of 66,4%, (2) Combining several papers but only including one source with a percentage of 63.2%, (3) copying the entire writing of an essay without including the source with a percentage of 62,4%. Meanwhile, the biggest factor that causes plagiarism is laziness with a percentage of 89,6%. This study provides information that most students know that they have committed plagiarism but still do it, but there are also some students who do plagiarism because of lack of knowledge in recording sources.
