Abstract

Prostitution is a social gap or social problem that influences the development of morals and order of values in society. A dimly-lit stall is one form of covert prostitution in Dayun Village and not something new to hear. The existence of this dimly lit stall is indeed disturbing residents, because it damages the image of the village and is not in accordance with the norms prevailing in the community. This practice site is small houses that are open every day starting from the afternoon until the night or even at 3 in the morning. These waiters (prostitutes) will accompany customers who come to drink, and then lead to sex transactions. And accompanied by music that is very noisy in the ear and the music is heard from a distance. The technique of determining informants in this study was using purposive sampling. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method. The theory used is the theory of structural functionalism and social capital consisting of social networks, trust, and social norms and values. The results of the study can be concluded that the average sex worker who works in this dimly lit stall has a low educational background and is already a widow. Many of the sex workers who work in these places are not immune from economic reasons. This makes them forced to work as sex workers. They also do not have extensive social relations (relations) in achieving economic goals. Abstract

In urban social groups that arise on the basis of professional and employment backgrounds are becoming increasingly diverse. Profession is a job done by someone to earn income, one of which is the profession of taxi drivers. In the city of Pekanbaru there are four taxi companies namely Blue Bird, Riau Taxi, Puskopau, and Kopsi. With many of the number of taxi companies that exist, then every company and taxi drivers must compete in each other to get the welfare of the profession is done, so that researchers want to see in terms of competition is the form of cooperation or conflict that occurred in the middle of competition. The location of the study is the place where the research will be carried out. The location of this research is in Pekanbaru City. The population in this study are all taxi drivers in Pekanbaru City, amounting to 750 people who are divided in four taxi companies. Thanks to the same character, the location is also the same then the author takes 10% of each company using proportional random sampling technique. That is the sampling technique based on the consideration of the number of each subject group. In this competition, every company and taxi driver create strategies to achieve their goals, Through a comparison of four taxi companies known there are differences in strategy that is run, In relation to the strategy, each strategy undertaken determines the dominance between one company with another company. In addition, basically the strategy that runs arise because of the increasingly complex competition, the forms of competition that is clearly visible in this study is the economic competition and competition of existence. And in the competition is also the cooperation that is spontaneous cooperation and contract cooperation that occurred between taxi drivers in Pekanbaru City.Keyword : Competition, Taxi Driver.

Abstract

This research was conducted in the city of Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the reason for women to wear a tattoo and whether the meaning of the tattoo for a tattoo receipts women in the city of Pekanbaru. This study, entitled "Women tattooed In Pekanbaru City Riau Province". Topics focus of this study is whether the reason women wear a tattoo in the town of Pekanbaru. informants of this study were women bertattoo in Pekanbaru. Sampling was done by accidental sampling technique. Samples are numbered 5 women tattooed. The author uses qualitative descriptive method and data analyzed qualitative. Data instrument is observation, interview and documentation. The results showed that the reason women using a tattoo on the body is due to the bandwagon, immortalize special moments, seek attention, accecories, and friendship. In addition the results of the research field known tattoo meaning for women users in Pekanbaru tattoo is an expression of feelings, art and beauty, identity, and emotional outlet.Keywords: Women tattooed, meaning Tattoo, Feminism

Abstract

The meaning of beauty for sociology students, faculty of social science and political science, University of Riau. This research was conducted in the department of sociology, Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, Riau University. The purpose of this research is to find out about the meaning for sociology students either innerbeuaty or outerbeauty and the elements that influence it. In determining the informants, a purposive sampling technique was used, namely active students majoring in sociology class 2017 and having a GPA above 3.50. The number of informants in this study amounted to 5 people. The theory used is Herbert Mead's theory of symbolic interactionism. The results obtained were that all informants interpreted beauty differently and most of them interpreted beauty based on physicality. In interpreting beauty, each informant has their own views or thoughts, but all informants consider that facial hygiene is one of the most important when it comes to physical beauty, while for inner beauty women should have a good heart and character. Not all informants considered that she was beautiful because of the influence of other people's assessments of her and the community environment in which they had social interactions. Keywords: Beauty, Student

Abstract

This reseacrh was done in Sultan Syarif Kasim Islamic State University. This research’s aim is to know the strategy of christian students in Sultan Syarif Kasim Islamic State University. Thie kind of research is qualitative which was analized descriptively. The theory used in this research is ‘Adaptation Theory’ by Pierre Bourdieu. In this research there are six respondents. The sampling technique is Purposive Sampling. The result from the field of study said that the christian students often get some insinuations, but they don’t want to against them. Abstract

Angkot is one of the public transportation in Pekanbaru are now starting deserted passenger. The fewer passangers caused the difficult angkot driver to full fill their needs. The purpose of this reserch is to know how is the angkot driver’s strategies to fullfill their needs with decrease income and what cause they survive as a angkot driver in Senapelan-Tangkerang route Pekanbaru . The data research is collected through interviews, obeservation and data analysis document with kualitatife descriptive. The vesult of this reseach can be concluded that the angkot drivers used theree strategies in their life. The three strategies are active strategy, passive strategy and network strategy. To be able hs famill in order to survive . The main factor that make angkot driver survive is caused there is not ability in other fields, lack of work experiences, unacceptable education for themselves, and comfort permanent job as angkot drivers.Keywords: Angkot, Driver, Survival Strategy

Abstract

This research was conducted at around the University of Riau, which includes at Jl. Bangau Sakti, Jl. HR.Soebrantas, Jl. Prof. Mukhtar Lutfi and Jl. Elang Sakti with the title Social Economic Society Around the University of Riau Jl. HR. Soebrantas Pekanbaru. Lately, development of the world education in Indonesia shows a progress positive, including in the city of Pekanbaru, this is marked by the increasing number of educational institution especially at the level collage, one of which is the University of Riau which has been established since 1962, in its development the existence of campuses located on the outskirts of the city has led to emergence of various forms of economic activity and has an impact on the condition of the surrounding society, especially in social economic conditions.This study aims to find out what forms of economic aktivity are that same time how social economic confessions of the society around University of Riau. The theory used in this research are the core area theory of John Friedman, while the method usedis quantitative descriptive by using observation techniques and questionnaires. The results showed that from 82 respondents, 51 of them opened businesses in the trade sector and the remaining 31 respondents opened businesses in the service sector, beside that there is a dependency between the society around the campus and campus ativities, where if the campus activities off they also take a holiday. As for the socio economic conditions of the society around University of Riau in the middle level, becausebased on the datait can be seen that themajority of respondents income is Rp.2.500.000- Rp.5.000.000/month that is much as 41 respondents with education graduating from high school which is 40 respondents. While the ownership status of the residence is rented much as 60 respondents and ownership of private vehicles is a motorcycle as much 64 respondents.Keywords: Social Economic, Society, University of Riau

Abstract

Violation of traffic rules by motorcycle rider two in the area Police Sector Ujung Batu often once happened. As for the the violation of which often made is the completeness of the vehicle, the completeness of papers, helmet, against the flow, to violate the regulations, the speed limit on the maximum, don’t turn on the main lights in the daytime.This research done to find out hoe the characteristics of a society that violate the rules of traffic in the area Police Sector Ujung Batu, Rokan Hulu Regency and what factors causes of motorcycle riders of violation of the rules of traffic in the area Police Sector Ujung Batu, Rokan Hulu Regency.The Theory is in use in this research is the theory of irregularities. Any traffic violations commited by the motorcycle rider two wheels including the abberant behavior, aberrant behavior on here any behavior that violates the norms of society or group. Data collection techniques in use here the first observation of the writer make research directly to the field to get the data in need in research, second interview with democracy, researchers have been equip with a detailed list of questions.Character research results of violation of the respondents based on gender, most of the men from theage of 16-50, tribe of themost violated is malay, educational level respondents ranging from elementary scholl until collage. Respondents does violate the traffic the most dominant is the lack of respondents who follow socialaziation about traffic rules that don’t understand the importance of the trafficregulations for the safety of the riders, signpost traffic sign already exists but it doesn’t work effectively, carried out the street sign is often dead, and is not working. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of online games on the behavior of students at Police Game Center Street Subrantas Handsome District of Pekanbaru, and the response of parents to the child's behavior. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive, where the population is taken that students who love to play games online games center at headquarters. To determine the population of researchers using accidental sampling and deployment techniques kesioner with interviews and documentation. Online gaming is providing features 'online community', making online games as a social activity, so it will have an effect on behavior. The gamer will have to play addiction behavior which will certainly have a negative impact. From the analysis done by the results of hypothesis testing t value ≥ t table, atau4032.276 ≥0.195, then the hypothesis is accepted it means there is the influence of online gaming addiction (X) to the behavior of adolescents (Y).Keywords: Game Online, Gamers Behavior, Addictive Games.

Abstract

This research was conducted at Kampung Dalam village. The purpose of this research is the background Kabuapaten in Siak art market and to know the public response to the change of traditional market into the art market Kampung Dalam village in Siak District Siak Regency. The focus topic of this research is the public response to the traditional market change into the art market in Siak Regency. The samples in this study amounted to 50 people. The authors use quantitative methods and use simple random sampling techniques. Data instruments are observations, polls and documentation. The research on public response to the art market in Siak Regency can be concluded that: The location of the art market, the research conducted found that 68.0% of respondents say locations of the art market are less strategic. Due to the less strategic location of the art market it has only 40% of merchants selling every day. 60% of merchants rarely open the Kiosk. The kiosk was managed, research found that 68.0% of respondents said the art market of Siak County did not develop, therefore 52% revealed that the art market became deserted visitors. Type of trade, researchers found that the most traded types of trades are handicrafts with a percentage of 80%, 12% are art tools, and 8% are a type of traditional art trading. The study also found public response to Siak County Art market as follows: positive response, 92.0% of respondents said the products sold in the art market in Siak District can introduce local cultures to the outside community. Negative response, 8% of respondents said the art market of Siak Regency was unable to provide the visitors with the needs well because the number of stalls active only slightly. Keywords: Community Response, Art Market
