Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the basic needs for developing storybooks with the help of a whole language approach to facilitate early childhood reading skills. The researcher uses the development method, the mix method approach model with the Educational Design Research technique refers to the model according to McKenney and Reeves. The discussion in this article only describes the Educational Design Research technique research in the first stage, namely the exploration and analysis stage of the research problem. The data collection stage is carried out by conducting a preliminary study, namely field studies and literature studies. Field studies or initial observations were carried out in Kober Ceria, Cibeureum District, Tasikmalaya City. The literature study was conducted by reviewing journals and the results of previous research related to problems and books on language development in early childhood. The results of the study show various basic needs to develop storybooks with the help of a whole language approach to facilitate early childhood reading skills, this will be used as a guide in making product designs for developing storybooks with the help of a whole language approach.Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui dasar kebutuhan pengembangan buku cerita berbantu pendekatan whole language untuk memfasilitasi keterampilan membaca anak usia dini. Peneliti menggunakan metode pengembangan, model pendekatan mix method dengan teknik Educational Design Research mengacu pada model menurut McKenney dan Reeves. Bahasan dalam asrtikel ini hanya menjelaskan penelitian teknik Educational Design Research pada tahap pertama yaitu tahap eksplorasi dan analisis masalah penelitian. Tahap pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melakukan studi pendahuluan yaitu studi lapangan dan studi literatur. Studi lapangan atau observasi awal dilaksanakan di Kober Ceria Kecamatan Cibeureum Kota Tasikmalaya. Studi literatur dilakukan dengan mengkaji jurnal dan hasil penelitian terdahulu terkait permasalahan serta buku-buku tentang perkembangan bahasa pada anak usia dini. Hasil penelitian menunjukan berbagai kebutuhan dasar untuk mengembangkan buku cerita berbantu pendekatan whole language untuk memfasilitasi keterampilan membaca anak usia dini, hal ini akan dijadikan sebagai pedoman dalam pembuatan rancangan produk pengembangan buku cerita berbantu pendekatan whole language.

Abstract

The development of an intellectually curious and morally upright next generation is one of Indonesia's stated educational objectives. The principle of "freedom of learning" empowers both educators and their pupils to shape the educational system as they see fit. Due to the current emphasis on information rather than competence in Indonesian education, the goal of independent learning is to provide an enjoyable educational experience for both students and instructors. Personal growth in accordance with Indonesian national principles is another focus of Merdeka Belajar. Does education aim to bring about change and improve the environment, as Ki Hadjar Dewantara believes it does, or is it primarily focused on fostering student growth? Starting with bettering the learning system and learning processes, promoting freedom of learning is one way to put the ideals of the nation's personality creators into practice. We think that by allowing people more freedom to study, we can all contribute to making the world a better place.

Abstract

Digital native students increasingly require learning environments that are collaborative and digitally integrated. Islamic education (PAI) must adapt by leveraging social media to meet these demands. This study investigates how educators optimize collaborative PAI learning through the strategic use of social media platforms. This research employed a literature review methodology. Relevant academic articles were collected from databases including Google Scholar, SINTA, GARUDA, Connected Papers, Open Knowledge Maps, Semantic Scholar, and OhioLINK. Inclusion criteria focused on peer-reviewed studies published between 2018 and 2024 that discussed the use of social media to enhance collaborative PAI learning. Articles not directly related to the subject were excluded. The selected literature was categorized and analyzed using thematic content analysis. The findings reveal that educators are actively improving their social media literacy to facilitate collaborative learning. Three key efforts emerged: enhancing competence in digital platforms, integrating Islamic values into online interactions, and modeling appropriate social media behavior. These efforts contribute to creating dynamic, innovative, and student-centered learning environments. This review underscores the importance of educators maintaining up-to-date digital competencies to foster effective collaborative learning. The strategic use of social media not only enhances student engagement but also promotes the integration of religious values in modern learning contexts.
