Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses penciptaan karya lukis dan wujud visualisasi karya berdasarkan ekspresi personal terhadap dinamika kehidupan yang terjadi di perantauan. Pustaka ini mengandung nilai kesadaran dan motivasi untuk mengarungi hidup dari sudut pandang pencipta sebagai mahasiswa perantau. Pada bagian proses penciptaan karya terdapat beberapa tahapan antara lain; 1) pemanfaatan sumber data literasi, 2) riset media meliputi eksperimen bentuk visual, eksperimen teknik garap dan tahap perenungan. Visual tampilan wujud karya lukis bernuansa hitam putih menggunakan eskpresi simbolik personal. Penciptaan karya lukis dengan tema “dinamika merantau” menghasilkan tiga buah karya lukis yang berjudul “home sweet home”, kedua “dream in forest”, dan ketiga “belenggu kebebasan”.This research aims to find out the process of creating paintings and the visualization of works based on personal expressions of the dynamics of life that occur in the field. This library contains the value of awareness and motivation to wade through life from the creator's point of view as a nomad. In creating work, there are several stages, namely 1) the utilization of literacy data sources, 2) media research including visual form experiments, work engineering experiments and contemplation stages. Visual display of black and white paintings using personal symbolic expression. The creation of paintings with the theme "regional dynamics" resulted in three paintings entitled "home sweet home", both "dream in a forest", and third "shackles of freedom".

Abstract

This study aims to examine the Dewi Sri myth’s aesthetic value as a source of inspiration for digital creations featuring Nyi Pohaci motifs. The myth of Dewi Sri, the deity of fertility and rice in Indonesian agrarian culture, plays a significant role in illustrating the spiritual and cultural traditions of the society. This study employs a contemporary aesthetic methodology created by Prof. Dharsono. It is a multifaceted methodology that examines how form, colour, symbolism, emotions, and personal expression are all analyzed in this procedure of creating art. There are four stages to the study process for developing motif designs: 1) exploration, 2) experimentation, 3) contemplation, and 4) realization. This research also examines the socio-cultural context in which the myth of Dewi Sri was developed, resulting in an interaction between tradition and modernity in the creative process of labour. According to the research findings, Nyi Pohaci’s contemporary design has the potential to facilitate a dialogue between the past and the present, as well as to reflect aesthetic attractiveness. The design’s visual structure is intended to convey messages of harmony, balance, and fecundity about nature, which are pertinent to the current environmental and social issues.

Abstract

This study describes the creative process of digital fashion design, focusing on how to transform the idea inspired by the Green Peafowl into an evening gown using digital design techniques. The motivation behind this creative work is the need for digital fashion designs that showcase contemporary fashion concepts as well as represent the beauty of the endemic Green Peafowl, a species currently threatened with extinction. The objective of this research is to create a digital fashion design inspired by the Green Peafowl, exploring its visual elements and aesthetics artistically in the form of an evening gown. Through the application of artistic theory and design principles, symbols representing the characteristics of the Green Peafowl—derived from visual elements such as shape, colour, and texture—are transformed into the design of the evening gown. The research method employed is Dharsono's artistic creation method, which consists of the following stages: 1) Observation, 2) Experimentation, 3) Reflection, and 4) Formation. The observation stage includes literature and pictorial studies related to the theme. The experimentation stage involves exploring the visual elements of the Green Peafowl in the design. The reflection stage involves analyzing and reflecting on the aesthetic aspects and meaning of the resulting design. The formation stage results in harmonious and innovative work in accordance with the concept and idea. The outcome of this research is a collection of digital evening gown designs. Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan proses kreatif pengkaryaan desain busana digital dengan fokus utama yakni; bagaimana mentranformasikan ide inspirasi Green Peafowl pada evening gown dengan teknik digitalisasi desain. Pengkaryaan ini didasari oleh kebutuhan akan desain busana digital untuk menampilkan konsep busana terkini, serta merepresentasikan keindahan fauna endemik Green Peafowl yang saat ini mulai terancam keberadaanya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menciptakan desain busana digital yang terinspirasi dari burung Green Peafowl, dengan mengeksplorasi elemen rupa dan estetika secara artistik ke dalam wujud evening gown. Melalui pendekatan teori artistik dan prinsip desain, simbol-simbol yang merepresentasikan karakteristik Green Peafowl, bersumber dari elemen rupa seperti bentuk, warna, dan tekstur, ditransformasikan kedalam wujud evening gown. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kreasi artistik Dharsono, dengan tahapan proses yakni; 1) Observasi, 2) eksperimen, 3) perenungan, dan 4) pembentukan. Tahap Observasi meliputi studi pustaka dan piktorial terkait tema yang diusung. Tahap eksperimen dilakukan dengan mengeksplorasi elemen rupa Green Peafowl ke dalam desain. Tahap perenungan melibatkan analisis dan refleksi terhadap aspek estetika dan makna dari desain yang dihasilkan. Tahap pembentukan menghasilkan karya yang harmonis dan inovatif sesuai konsep dan gagasan ide. Hasil penelitian ini berupa koleksi desain busana digital evening gown.

Abstract

Indonesian cultural heritage is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for the creative industries, including fashion. However, many potential historical sites haven’t been fully explored. One such example is the Batujaya Temple complex in Karawang, specifically Candi Jiwa. Candi Jiwa, believed to be a relic from the pre-Tarumanegara kingdom era, has unique architectural characteristics: a minimalist brick structure with a lotus flower-shaped layout, which sets it apart from other temples in Java that are typically made of andesite stone with intricate reliefs. This research on contemporary motif design aims to (1) Identify the visual and philosophical elements of Candi Jiwa’s architecture; (2) Stylize the architectural forms of Candi Jiwa into a motif design; and (3) Apply the resulting contemporary motifs to fashion accessory products. The design methods used include a literature study, visual observation, sketch exploration, form stylization, digitalization, and product mock-up creation. The result of this design process is a series of primary and derivative motifs inspired by the layout, structure, and texture of Candi Jiwa. These motifs were then digitally applied as mock-ups on accessory products such as scarves, vests, hijabs, and tote bags. This design project demonstrates that the simplicity and uniqueness of Candi Jiwa’s form have great potential to be translated into modern, ethnic motif designs with a strong narrative value.

Abstract

Perkembangan seni ilustrasi di Indonesia begitu beragam dan sangat dipengaruhi oleh perkembangan art style pada era postmodern. Dalam era postmodern, para ilustrator cenderung mengedepankan kebebasan dalam mengekspresikan diri dalam visual karyanya, tidak ingin terpaku pada suatu kaidah visual dan standar yang berlaku dalam dunia seni gambar ilustrasi. Bodilpunk (Rahadil Hermana) merupakan seorang seniman ilustrator yang mempunyai kekhasan dalam ide pemikiran postmodern. Ilustrasi karya Bodilpunk selalu tampil dengan objek-objek fantasi melalui deformasi dan imajinasi bentuk. Gaya visual ilustrasi khas Bodilpunk cenderung menampilkan objek dengan wujud imajinatif dalam bentuk yang distorsi, dia adalah cerminan seorang postmodernis dengan metode berpikir intitutional. Ilustrasi ciptaan Bodilpunk bertema harimau merupakan karya yang sangat kental dengan nuansa postmodern. Pengaruh postmodern pada ilustrasi harimau, terlihat pada penggayaan-penggayaan yang diberikan pada unsur visualnya. Penelitian ini membantu menjelaskan permasalahan konsep, estetika dan makna ilustrasi harimau karya Bodilpunk sebagai sebuah karya seni berlatarbelakang postmodern. Fokus penelitian ini adalah memahami konsep, idiom estetik serta makna yang terdapat pada ilustrasi seri harimau. Makna yang muncul dari ilustrasi harimau, sebagai sebuah karya dengan penggambaran realita secara berlebihan (hiperealitas), antara lain: makna ekonomi, makna budaya dan makna ekspresi.
