Abstract

This study aims to analyze the innovation and digitalization implemented by the Ukhuwah Bintang Ihsani Islamic Microfinance Institution (LKMS) in Bengkulu City and its impact on marketing and customer service. The research method used was a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with management, employees, and customers, supported by documentation studies and direct observation. The results indicate that LKMS Ukhuwah Bintang Ihsani has gradually implemented innovation and digitalization through the use of social media as a marketing tool, digital transaction recording, and online service communication, all while adhering to Sharia principles such as honesty and transparency. This digitalization has had a positive impact on operational efficiency, expanded marketing reach, and increased customer satisfaction and engagement, despite limitations in human resources, digital literacy, and technological infrastructure. The study concludes that innovation and digitalization play a crucial role in strengthening the competitiveness and sustainability of LKMS Ukhuwah Bintang Ihsani. However, strengthening human resource capacity and infrastructure support are necessary for optimal and sustainable Sharia-based digital transformation. Abstract

Previous studies on Islamic Financial Institution have primarily focused on sharia compliance in products and financial performance, while limited attention has been given to how maqashid sharia principles are embodied within employees’ work culture. This study fills that gap by analyzing the implementation of maqashid sharia values in the work culture of employees at Bank Muamalat Bengkulu Branch using a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews with leaders and staff. Thematic analysis was conducted based on the five dimensions of maqashid sharia: hifz ad-dīn (protection of religion), hifz an-nafs (protection of life), hifz al-aql (protection of intellect), hifz an-nasl (protection of lineage), and hifz al-mal (protection of wealth). The results indicate that Islamic values are internalized through the “Muamalat IDEAL” work culture (Islamic, Modern, Professional). Leaders play an active role in instilling honesty, trustworthiness, and responsibility through exemplary conduct and spiritual activities. Employees’ work practices reflect a balance between spiritual and professional aspects: integrity and honest service (hifz ad-dīn), harmonious teamwork (hifz an-nafs), continuous competency development (hifz al-aql), employee welfare (hifz an-nasl), and sharia-compliant fund management (hifz al-mal). Supporting factors include strong organizational commitment and corporate values, while the main challenges are the influence of value globalization and limited Islamic literacy among staff. Overall, the application of maqashid sharia strengthens Islamic work culture and professionalism within Bank Muamalat Bengkulu Branch.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menelaah peran BMT dalam memberdayakan UMKM di Provinsi Bengkulu melalui pembiayaan dan pendampingan berbasis syariah. Studi kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus ini melibatkan pengurus BMT dan UMKM binaan sebagai informan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis dengan model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembiayaan syariah meliputi murabahah, mudharabah, musyarakah, dan rahn berdampak pada peningkatan modal kerja, kapasitas produksi, serta omzet UMKM. Pendampingan manajemen dan literasi keuangan turut memperkuat kemampuan manajerial pelaku usaha. Data menunjukkan 63% UMKM mengalami kenaikan omzet, 64% meningkat labanya, dan 58% mampu memperluas usaha setelah bermitra dengan BMT. Meski demikian, efektivitas pemberdayaan masih dipengaruhi keterbatasan modal BMT, rendahnya literasi keuangan UMKM, risiko pembiayaan bermasalah, dan kecenderungan ketergantungan pada pembiayaan.
