Abstract

Sukuk are sharia securities (sharia securities) in the form of certificates or proof of ownership that have the same value and represent ownership of assets in the form of projects or investment activities after receipt of sukuk funds. The existence of sukuk in the modern era cannot be separated from the needs of companies or institutions that require capital. The legal basis for sukuk must be clear in order to avoid investments that are prohibited in Islam. Therefore, the permissibility of sukuk is contained in fatwa No. 137/DSN-MUI/IX/2020 concerning sukuk. The fatwa becomes the guidelines and rules for the provisions of Sukuk. The researcher uses the descriptive qualitative method, which is to describe the permissibility as well as the provisions and limitations related to Sukuk. The purpose of this research is to analyze the fatwa of DSN-MUI Number 137/DSN-MUI/IX/2020 according to fiqh rules. The results showed that fatwa No.137/DSN-MUI/IX/2020 was issued with the consideration that sukuk investment requires guidelines, provisions, and limitations in carrying out its activities.

Abstract

This research aims to see the correlation and influence of profit-sharing financing on the profitability of Sharia Business Units (UUS) in Indonesia. The dependent variable in this Research is Return on Assets (ROA), while mudharabah and musyarakah financing are the independent variables. This research uses secondary data obtained from Sharia banking statistics, which are accessed via the Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) website. The data analysis technique used in the research is ordinary least squares (OLS). The results of this research show that mudharabah and musyarakah financing simultaneously (as a whole) have no effect on ROA. This is proven by the prob (F-statistic) value of 0.088620. The partial test results (t-test) show that mudharabah financing has a probability value of 0.3157, which makes mudharabah financing have no effect on ROA. Meanwhile, musyarakah financing has a probability value of 0.0353, so musyarakah financing has a significant influence on ROA.

Abstract

The research entitled "Operational Management of the Namira Lamongan Mosque as a Waqf Asset" is the result of qualitative research that aims to answer the question of how Naẓir's strategy in operational management is implemented at the Namira Mosque as a waqf asset in the form of a mosque to make the mosque prosperous. and what impact the implementation of operational management will have on the congregation and community. The research results show that the naẓir strategy in operational management implemented by the taker of the Namira Mosque is modern mosque operational management which is implemented through three areas, namely Idarah, Imarah, and Ri'yah. Idarah is the function of mosque management, which is related to all mosque operational activities. Imarah is the function of prospering the mosque as the function of the mosque is the function of worship, and Ri'yah is the function of maintaining the mosque's assets. Namira Mosque is one of the mosques that has various programs for its congregation, guaranteed cleanliness, and good facilities, thereby increasing comfort in worship. Therefore, the Namira Mosque is always busy with visitors, of course, this cannot be separated from how the mosque takmir manages the assets of the Namira Mosque so that the benefits can be felt by the congregation directly. The impact of implementing the Nazir strategy in operational management can be felt directly by the congregation through the various facilities and programs available at the Namira Mosque. The suggestion for future researchers is to research more deeply regarding the operational management of waqf assets, especially waqf assets in the form of mosques. Because many mosques still have waqf status but do not have a modern mosque management system for managing their waqf assets, the function of the mosque cannot be carried out optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the involvement of lecturers in the salary-deduction-based hajj savings program at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), with a case study at the Islamic College (STAI) Senori Tuban. This program is designed to help employees, especially lecturers, in planning the hajj pilgrimage through an automatic monthly salary deduction scheme. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, where data is obtained through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and relevant documentation. The research subjects consisted of lecturers who participated in the program, lecturers who had not participated in the program, and campus officials involved in financial administration. The results of the study indicate that the level of lecturer involvement in this program is still relatively low. The main driving factors for lecturer involvement are religious motivation and the ease of the autodebit system which makes it easy for them to save in a disciplined manner without having to make manual deposits. However, there are a number of inhibiting factors, such as financial limitations faced by most lecturers, especially those with contract or honorary status, and low sharia financial literacy which causes a lack of understanding of the contract mechanism in the hajj savings program. This study recommends strategies to increase participation through incentives, socialization and education of Islamic finance, and flexibility in determining the amount of salary deductions. Thus, it is expected that lecturers' participation in this program can increase, along with strengthening Islamic financial planning in the Islamic education environment. These findings can also be a reference for other institutions in implementing similar programs to support the spiritual and economic welfare of educators

Abstract

The growth of Islamic microfinance institutions in Indonesia has significantly contributed to expanding access to Islamic-based finance. However, amidst digital transformation and competition from modern financial institutions, many Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT) face serious challenges in maintaining their performance and sustainability. The urgency of this research lies in the importance of understanding the determinants of BMT performance success through the implementation of superior strategies that adapt to the social and economic dynamics of the community. This study aims to analyze the determinants of successful performance based on superior strategies at BMT UAS Bangilan Branch, which was awarded the title of best office in 2024. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results indicate that the success of BMT UAS Bangilan Branch is determined by the synergy between human resource development, digital technology utilization, Sharia product innovation, promotional strategies, and member services that are responsive to community needs. Supporting factors such as community trust and central management support strengthen this strategy, while limited technological infrastructure and digital literacy pose major challenges. This research provides academic contributions to the literature on Islamic value-based strategic management as well as practical recommendations for strengthening BMT governance in Indonesia.

Abstract

The rising cost of education poses a significant challenge for families in maintaining financial stability, particularly amid fluctuating economic conditions. For Muslim families, financial planning must not only consider economic aspects but also comply with Islamic principles. Sharia-based education savings emerge as a solution to support long-term financial planning for children’s education in alignment with Islamic values. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness and contribution of Sharia education savings as a financial planning instrument for Muslim families, as well as to evaluate the application of Sharia principles in such products. A qualitative approach was employed using library research methods, with data collected from various sources, including books, scholarly journals, DSN-MUI fatwas, and official documents from Islamic financial institutions. The data were analyzed using content analysis with a descriptive analytical approach. The findings reveal that Sharia education savings can serve as an effective financial instrument for Muslim families in preparing education funds in a systematic and Sharia-compliant manner. The product emphasizes transparency in contracts and avoids elements of riba (interest), gharar (uncertainty), and maysir (speculation). However, challenges remain, particularly in the form of low Sharia financial literacy and limited public understanding of the product’s benefits.
