Abstract

Management PT. SEMB decided to moving warehouse outside plant, so that PT. SEMB PEM has to do re-layout. PEM warehouse temporary will be moved to first floor, second and third floor will be used for production area. Re-layout also change the concept of layout, from product family concept layout to process concept layout. process concept layout will be devided into 3 process, there are preparation area, main line area, and also back end area. Process layout makes finished goods closer to outgoing to be shipped to customer. We are interested to finding more effective layout for PT. SEMB PEM. we just calculationg moment based on flow and distance for method we used in this study. SNC is one of group product in PT. SEMB PEM which divided into two production floor before, become into one after re-layout. As the result, we found that our suggestion layout which based on product family concept layout better than others with 7851.47 as total moment which 34% more effective than new layout and 6% more effective than old layout. Total moment of old layout is 8316.38, and the new layout is 11972.53.

Abstract

One of the waste in the Secondary Processing Department at PT X is cigarette reject. The average of cigarette reject rate from January until February 2014 was around 2,21%, while the company target was 2,15%. This research was conducted to reduce cigarette reject rate, so that it will improve DIM waste performance. Steps to complete this research were based on DMAIC framework which was started by cigarette reject mapping, data collection of cigarette reject in each waste point, then the root cause analysis to obtain some solutions. It was found 4 waste points in the Secondary Processing Department. However, based on effort and impact diagram we only considered 3 waste points for improvement. Improvements was done by designed a cigarette shredder machine to separate tobacco from the cigarette paper, replacing machine components, updating tasklist cleaning maker, and focused on process development. As a results of the improvements at all 3 waste points, the average of cigarette reject reduced to 2,04%. This value is significantly lower than the target, which is 2.15%. While invest Rp. 13.000.000,00 for making the machine, the company might save Rp. 88.573.564,61 during the implementation period (2 months).

Abstract

Reliability centered maintenance adalah suatu metode yang digunakan untuk menen­tukan apa yang harus dilakukan supaya aset fisik yang di­miliki dapat tetap terus diguna­kan. Peng­olahan metode reliability centered maintenance membutuhkan jawaban responden se­ba­gai sum­ber utama. Jawaban responden yang tidak selalu dapat mutlak ‘ya’ dan ‘tidak’ me­nyebabkan adanya ketidak pastian. Metode fuzzy akan menghilangkan ketidakpastian dengan mem­­­berikan kebenaran secara gradasi sehingga jawaban responden dapat digunakan didalam me­­tode reliability centered maintenance. Data dan jawaban dari bagian pemeliharaan mengenai komponen mesin yang meng­alami ke­gagalan akan diproses menggunakan kedua metode (reliability centered maintenance dan fuzzy lo­gic) sehingga dapat ditentukan jenis pemeliharaan. Hasil jenis pe­meliharaan metode RCM meng­gunakan pendekatan fuzzy logic lebih efektif dan tepat da­lam mendeteksi jenis pe­meliha­ra­an bagi mesin perusahaan.
