Abstract

The ground and excited states of 6Li, 8Be and 12C nuclei are investigated using the generator- coordinate method (GCM) involving (αd), (αα) and (3α) – clusters structures, respectively. It is assumed that the α and d particles are not structureless point particles, rather are represented by a certain four-nucleon and two-nucleon wave functions, respectively, so that the generating function depends on the possible nucleon configurations. The nucleonic wave functions are defined through the harmonic oscillator shell model (HOSM), whereas the nucleon-nucleon interaction is represented by a Gaussian-shape potential. The GCM kernels are projected out on nonorthonormal functions, instead of performing the standard Gram-Schmidt orthonormalization procedure. The total wave function is expanded in terms of these functions to obtain standard eigenvalue equation in nonorthonormal basis. Calculated spectroscopic properties are presented to be in excellent agreement with the experimental values and better than other calculation methods, such as the variational Monte Carlo (VMC), and the Green’s function Monte Carlo (GFMC).

Abstract

We consider an SU(3) Skyrme model, defined by embedding the SU(2) hedgehog ansatz and adding with a color symmetry breaking and the Guadagnini terms. The ground state energy of the SU(3) Skyrme model is equal to that of the SU(2) Skyrme model. In contrast to the dynamic energy of the SU(2) Skyrme model which is associated to only three rotational axes, the dynamic energy of the SU(3) Skyrme model is associated with eight rotational axes. Quantization of the spatial axis components of the angular momenta follows the ordinary quantum quantization of angular momenta, while quantization for the collective axis components and for the eight axis component follow, respectively, the quadratic Casimir operator and the Wess-Zumino term. The color symmetry breaking and the Guadagnini terms are added in the model in order to obtain more splitting mass spectra, mass spectra that are sensitive to the isospin and hypercharge quantum numbers. In this paper, we calculate the octet, decuplet, and anti decuplet mass spectra using certain values of parameters. The results for the octet and decuplet are between 1% to 3% mass discrepancies compared to the experimental values. We do not compare the antidecuplet results to the experiment, as the experimental masses are not well established.

Abstract

We investigate a relation between non-perturbative and perturbative cases in the 2+1 dimensional Chern-Simons-Witten (CSW) theory for G = E6 gauge group. In the perturbative case, we calculate the vacuum expectation value (VEV) of an unknotted Wilson loop operator up to order 1/k3 (k is a coupling constant). The result above is proved to be identical to the polynomial invariant E0 (ρ) in the non-perturbative case at the same order of expansion.

Abstract

We consider the newly approach by Napsuciale and Kirchbach as an alternative formalism for spin-3/2 fields. The Feynman rules for interacting case are derived. Gauge invariance property in this formalism is shown from the corresponding invariant Compton scattering amplitude related to gauge transformation of the polarization vector.

Abstract

Gauge freedom is one important property of gauge theory. It enables one to choose gauge fields that fulfill a certain condition for conveniences. Thus, gauge freedom leads more fruitful and interesting development of gauge theory. In this paper we will discuss some gauge condition related aspects where the generalized gauge is taken into consideration. More attention will be given to the FS gauge.

Abstract

Similar relationship between Christoffel symbols and Riemann tensors and between gauge potentials and gauge field strengths enable us to treat the Christoffel symbols just like the gauge fields. Restricting the Christoffel symbol by the Fock-Schwinger (FS) condition one obtains the so-call inversion formulae in general relativity theory. These formulae may be utilized for various applications, including the Christoffel symbol-free formulation of the general relativity and calculating the so-called Fock-Schwinger Christoffel symbols for certain Riemann tensors. Here we will derive the Fock-Schwinger-Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FSFRW) Christoffel symbols.

Abstract

Nosocomial infections are a serious problem that often occurs in hospitals and can have a negative impact on patient safety. The role of nurses, especially in inpatient rooms, is very important in preventing these infections. Preliminary studies found 0.34% of HAIs in hospitals, 0.00% of urinary tract infections, 0.86% of Phlebitis, 0.00% of Ventilator Associated Pneumonia. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and behavior of nurses regarding the prevention of nosocomial infections. This type of research is quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires. This population is all nurses in the Inpatient Room at PKU Muhammadiyah Sukoharjo Hospital. The sample for this research was 42 respondents who were selected using the total data saturated sampling technique used, namely univariate and bivariate analysis (Spearman rho test). The results of the univariate analysis research showed that the nosocomial infection prevention process variable, nurse knowledge was in the good category at 100% and the nosocomial infection prevention process variable, nurse behavior was in the good category at 100%. The results of bivariate analysis using the Spearman's rho statistical test show that there is a p-value of 0.000, where this value is smaller than 0.05 with a coefficient value of 0.528. So it can be said that there is a relationship between knowledge and behavior of inpatient room nurses in preventing nosocomial infections at the PKU Muhammadiyah Sukoharjo hospital. In conclusion, there is a relationship between knowledge and behavior in preventing nosocomial infections at the PKU Muhammadiyah hospital. Suggestions: Increase counseling and training on preventing nosocomial infections for nurses and health workers and non-health workers at the PKU Muhammadiyah Sukoharjo Hospital.
