Abstract

This community service aims to instill awareness of the importance of protecting the environment in grade 5 students of SD Islamiyah 1 Ternate City through plastic waste recycling activities. This activity involves providing material on waste management, waste sorting practices, and making accessories from plastic waste. The results showed a significant increase in students' knowledge about waste and their skills in recycling. Students enthusiastically participated in the activities and succeeded in creating valuable products from waste that was previously considered useless. This not only increases students' knowledge and skills, but also fosters an attitude of caring for the environment. This activity is in line with the independent learning curriculum which emphasizes character development and student independence. By integrating waste management into the curriculum, schools can create a learning environment that supports environmentally friendly living habits. As with the goals of the SDGs, namely quality education, responsible consumption and production, and action against climate change. Overall, this study succeeded in instilling a spirit of love for the environment in students from an early age. This activity is not only beneficial for students, but also contributes to environmental conservation efforts. Through this activity, it is hoped that students can become agents of change and invite the surrounding environment to participate in preserving the environment.

Abstract

The representation of female beauty in the beauty queen event is only associated with brain, beauty and behavior. Women are not only considered beautiful from the outside, but also need inner beauty through the beauty queen event. Pageant lovers as loyal supporters of the beauty queen event also represent female beauty through Instagram accounts, in addition to raising support and updating information about beauty pageants. This study aims to describe women's beauty represented by Instagram pageant lovers on social media. The research method uses the semiotic approach of Roland Barthes on Instagram accounts of pageant lovers, including @portalpageant.id, @pageantcrownwarriors, and @indopageant. The time span of the analyzed uploads was January to February 2023. The results showed that the representation of female beauty on the accounts of pageant enthusiasts contains a number of issues, namely that the standard of female beauty is relative with the caption Black Beauty. The issue of commercialization of women through the beauty pageant event can be seen from the disappointment of pageant lovers with the transfer of the license of the Puteri Indonesia Foundation (YPI) and the Miss Universe Philippines fundraiser.

Abstract

The BTS (Base Transceiver Station) construction corruption case of the Minister of Communications and Information, Johny G. Plate, who is also a cadre of the Nasdem Party, has caused a lot of debate among netizens. Online news portals with different party owners are also said to have an impact on the framing of reality and influencing readers' perspectives in viewing the BTS corruption issue. Therefore, it is necessary to further examine how the online media Mediaindonesia.com and Okezone.com framed the corruption case involving Johny G. Plate as the Secretary General of Nasdem Party and former Minister of Communication and Information. The method used in this research is the framing analysis proposed by Robert N. Entman. The subjects of this research are the online media news portals Mediaindonesia.com and Okezone.com, while the objects are news articles about the identification of Johny G. Plate (JP) as a suspect in the BTS Kominfo corruption case. The research results revealed that MediaIndonesia.com tends to view corruption cases with a positive frame by prioritizing the principle of presumption of innocence for not firing Johny G. Plate as Secretary General of the Nasdem Party. In contrast, Okezone.com tends to frame the news by supporting legal efforts to thoroughly investigate the case and supporting a number of DPP Perindo Party stances that seem to be framed as the stance of the news portal.

Abstract

Indonesia terkenal dengan keanekaragaman bahan pangan, salah satunya ubi kayu yang terdapat di Maluku Utara. Ubi kayu bisa diolah salah satunya menjadi sagu lempeng dan memiliki cita rasa yang khas. Kelurahan Jaya juga memiliki olahan ubi kayu yaitu berupa sagu lempeng. Sagu lempeng di daerah ini memiliki varian berbeda dengan sagu lempeng di daerah lain. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran ibu rumah tangga dalam meningkatkan perekonomian keluarga melalui usaha sagu lempeng di Kelurahan Jaya, Tidore Utara, Kota Tidore Kepulauan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dan jumlah responden 10 orang dengan kriteria sudah berpengalaman memproduksi sagu lebih kurang selama 3 tahun. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa peranan ibu rumah tangga melalui usaha sagu lempeng di Kelurahan Jaya, mampu meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga dan digunakan untuk kebutuhan keluarga.

Abstract

Desa Mangli Kecamatan Kaliangkrik merupakan salah satu desa di wilayah Magelang, Jawa Tengah yang memiliki potensi usaha UMKM yang beraneka ragam Keunggulan yang dimiliki oleh Desa Mangli terletak pada jumlah UMKM yang bervariasi dan sedang berkembang. Potensi-potensi UMKM yang berada di Desa Mangli antara lain Budidaya Vanili, Usaha Anyaman Bambu, Usaha Tahu, Usaha Tempe, Usaha Kue Dorayaki, dan Usaha Tape. Keseluruhan UMKM tersebut sangat membantu Desa Mangli dalam bidang ekonomi. Selain itu, dengan adanya UMKM yang beranekaragam di Desa Mangli mampu membantu perekonomian Masyarakat. Permasalahan yang dihadapi UMKM Desa Mangli masih belum memiliki akses promosi yang baik untuk memperkenalkan kekayaan alam yang dimiliki agra mudah dikenal masyarakat luas. Permasalahan yang dihadapi UMKM ini adalah kurangnya kemampuan untuk mempromosikan kepada masyarakat sehingga UMKM yang terdapat di Desa Mangli belum banyak diketahui oleh masyarakat umum. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini sebagai edukasi untuk memperkenalkan promosi produk-produk UMKM melalui media digital sebagai media promosi ini dapat menjangkau konsumen secara lebih luas. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini disusun dalam 3 tahapan yaitu (1) identifikasi dan pengembangan kelompok mitra, (2) pelaksanaan program pelatihan dan pengenalan media promosi digital, dan (3) evaluasi kegiatan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk pelatihan pemanfaatan Instagram dan Wa Busineess. Kegiatan pertama dilakukan dengan memberikan pelatihan pembuatan akun Instagram dan akun Whatsapp Business. Kegiatan kedua dilakukan dalam bentuk pelatihan penggunaan Canva dan Pembuatan Website sebagai upaya untuk memberikan media promosi. Hasil dari Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat di Desa Mangli ini diharapkan dapat mengembangkan jaringan penjualan UMKM yang semakin luas.
