Abstract

MSMEs are a source of income for rural communities. Development and management are needed in running MSMEs. MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) are independent production sectors managed by the private sector or legal entities in all economic sectors, however, there are still a few from the village community who do not understand how to develop and manage MSMEs. Where the MSMEs they have are very feasible and good to be marketed widely, as in one of the communities in Nampan Ponorogo Village, East Java, Mrs. Anna's MSMEs are tempe and banana chips. Therefore, this activity aims to provide assistance and understanding regarding how to develop and manage MSMEs so that these business activities can grow and develop and be able to compete with products in the market today. The method used in community service activities (PkM) by applying "practical learning" which provides technical guidance through direct coaching to partners. The role of the PkM team is to directly assist partners in the Community Service Program (KKN) University of Darussalam Gontor with an activity schedule of almost 1 month. This PkM activity resulted in several assistance in the development and management of MSMEs, including logo making, social media making, halal and P-IRT certification assistance. The development and management of MSMEs have been carried out with several strategies including branding and marketplaces to be able to introduce products to the market with unique packaging and names. With this assistance, it is hoped that it will be able to develop sales levels and consumer confidence with complete halal and P-IRT certification

Abstract

This study aims to explain the economy from an Islamic perspective: and its role in increasing human resources and the economic development of Islam. This study uses a library research method with a descriptive-analytic qualitative approach, namely explaining and describing the object of research and then analyzing it from the perspective of the Islamic economic system. The results of this study indicate that, First, Islam views the economy as implemented with an attitude towards property ownership, absolute ownership of everything on earth belongs to Allah SWT. Human ownership is only relative, limited to carrying out the mandate of managing and utilizing according to His provisions. The status of assets in Islam is a mandate or deposit (as a truth) from Allah SWT to humans who have the capacity to be His creatures. Meanwhile, from the point of view of monotheism, humans as economic subjects are only limited to trustees. Second, the concept of Islamic economic development demands and makes humans to awaken human nature, namely the birth of a balance between happiness in the world and in the hereafter. This role has implications for the concern for development in Islam itself which emphasizes both physical and metaphysical elements. In addition to physical indicators, Islamic development also pays close attention to moral and spiritual aspects that are not shared by conventional development focus. The concepts of tawhid, khilafah, and 'are inseparable from the foundations of economic development in Islam.

Abstract

This study aims to empirically examine the influence of COVID-19 on changes in the performance of MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises). The research also examines business resilience strategies in response to PPKM's orders amid the COVID-19 pandemic crisis in Indonesia. Quantitative and qualitative approaches were applied in this study. Primary data was collected through questionnaires, and interviews involving 477 respondents from MSME owners and six selected respondents in Indonesia employed in this study. Descriptive analysis and regression using structural equation modeling (SEM) were applied. The study showed that the dimensions of COVID-19, namely PPKM and health protocols, negatively affect MSME's performance. The study also found that promoting and selling products on social media, product diversification, and minimalizing cost production are among the most popular business resilience strategies to survive MSME's operation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results suggest that the establishment of COVID-19's impact on MSME's performance should be aware and concerned. The study also indicates that MSMEs should be able to maintain their strategies in surviving their business due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Abstract

The development of an industry cannot be realized without the role of stakeholders, and this also applies to the halal industry. This paper aims to examine the determinants of the pentahelix model in developing the halal industry in Indonesia. Qualitative approach by using the Analytic Network Process (ANP) used in this study. Ten respondents, including practitioners, academics, and policymakers, are selected to gather experts' opinions about developing the halal industry through the pentahelix model. The findings of this study show that business actors, who play a major role as producers and providers of halal products and are responsible for meeting halal standards, are the first priority determinant found in the pentahelix. An increase in understanding of halal knowledge, consistent discipline and professionalism, and having product development access of business actors will increase their role in developing the halal industry. The second priority determinant found is media, followed by government, academia, and community. The most prioritized sub-elements of the pentahelix aspect indicators, according to the respondents' agreement, are government support (government element) and knowledge and understanding of halal (business actor element). It indicates that government assistance is a priority due to its significant regulatory role in ensuring simple procedures and compliance with halal standards. In conclusion, the priority rank of determinant of pentahelix found is business actor (first rank), media (second rank), government (third rank), academia (fourth rank), and community (fifth rank). The study suggests that business actors play a crucial role in developing the halal industry, which may be enhanced in terms of their halal literacy and knowledge of halal products. The government's role in halal certification needs to be enhanced in order to ease the halal register for business actors.
