Abstract

Prospective mathematics teachers must have the characteristics of mathematical science, namely systematic, logical, and critical. This study aims to reveal the analysis of learning obstacles experienced by prospective mathematics teachers in number theory lectures with sub-material of division relations, FPB and KPK. This research uses a qualitative approach method in descriptive form. This research was conducted by collecting data through questionnaires and interviews and validated using the triangulation method. The study was limited to the analysis of ontogenic learning obstacles according to Brosseasu. The results of this study were that 4 out of 6 research subjects experienced the occurrence of ontogenic learning obstacles with details of 37.5% of prospective teacher students experiencing psychological ontogenic obstacles and instrumental ontogenic obstacles, then 25% experiencing didactic ontogenic obstacles. This indicates that students' readiness to take part in number theory courses is still weak. Students are weak in terms of psychological readiness, weak in readiness for complete mastery of related material previously studied and weak in terms of following the thought process needed in this course.

Abstract

As one of the traditional ornaments of the Batak Toba tribe, "gorga" carries philosophical meaning and serves to embellish the decoration of traditional houses. The gorga motif has its own distinctive characteristics, with closely arranged patterns and symmetrical designs. This indicates the presence of mathematical aspects within these carved gorga patterns. This research aims to analyze the symmetries embedded in the gorga motifs that can be utilized as locally-based mathematics teaching material. The study is conducted by exploring various gorga motifs and analyzing their types of symmetry. The research is employing an ethnographic research approach. Data is collected through observing buildings adorned with gorga motifs, studying literature, and conducting interviews with gorga carvers. Qualitative data analysis can be started with data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. The research findings reveal the existence of seven types of symmetry obtained from all gorga motifs. These symmetry types include translation symmetry, glide reflect symmetry, vertical symmetry, rotation 180° symmetry, vertical and  rotation 180° symmetry, horizontal symmetry, and vertical and horizontal symmetry.

Abstract

The spread of hoakses in Indonesia continues to rise, as recorded by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo), with more than 770 hoakses identified between August 2018 and February 2019. This phenomenon indicates that hoakses pose a serious threat, requiring continuous education and intervention efforts. Therefore, this Community Service Program (PKM) aims to enhance students' digital literacy in recognizing, identifying, and countering fake news on social media.  The workshop was conducted at SMKN 1 Klaten, involving 120 twelfth-grade students from the multimedia department. The method used in this program was an interactive workshop that included education on hoakses, practical exercises in identifying false information, and discussions on the social impact of hoaks dissemination.  Through this activity, students were equipped with the skills to become critical and responsible consumers of information in the digital era. The training, which lasted for five class hours, successfully engaged students, as evidenced by the numerous questions that arose throughout the session. It is hoped that this initiative will contribute to creating a safer digital environment and support government efforts to improve digital literacy among the younger generation.

Abstract

Indonesia's literacy and numeracy competencies remain critically low despite marginal improvements in PISA scores from 2018 to 2022, which paradoxically declined overall. To address this educational crisis, the Indonesian government launched the Kampus Mengajar program, deploying university students to enhance primary school literacy and numeracy outcomes. This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Kampus Mengajar program by analyzing changes in students' Minimum Competency Assessment (MCA) performance. A pre-experimental design was employed with 30 fifth-grade students from SDN 13 East Jakarta, selected through purposive sampling. Data collection occurred over four months using pre-test-post-test instruments, supplemented by classroom observations. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS, including descriptive statistics, Shapiro-Wilk normality tests, and paired t-tests. The findings reveal significant improvements in both literacy and numeracy MCA scores following the Kampus Mengajar intervention. Statistical analysis confirmed meaningful differences between pre-test and post-test performance, demonstrating the program's positive impact on student competencies. The research identified that enhanced teaching methodologies and additional academic support contributed to measurable learning gains. This study contributes empirical evidence supporting the effectiveness of collaborative university-school partnerships in addressing Indonesia's literacy and numeracy challenges. The results suggest that the Kampus Mengajar model represents a viable strategy for educational improvement. However, successful implementation requires adequate school infrastructure and resources. Future research should investigate the long-term sustainability of these improvements and explore optimal teaching methodologies within the Kampus Mengajar framework to maximize elementary students' MCA outcomes.
