Abstract

Research on the Application of the Auditory Intellectually Repetition method with the Everyone is Teacher Here Method Measured by Motivation and Chemistry Learning Achievement on the Main Material Hydrocarbons is a quasi-experimental research type with a research design involving 3 classes, namely the first class is taught with the Auditory Intellectually Repetition method, Everyone Is Teacher Here method and the third class taught by a combination of them with different treatments. This research was conducted at MA Darussalam, Lombok, in the 2020/2021 academic year. This study aims to determine the differences in motivation and achievement in learning chemistry of students who are taught using the Auditory Intellectually Repetition learning model and Everyone Is Teacher Here method on the subject matter of hydrocarbons repetition with a combination of them on the subject matter of hydrocarbons, and knowing the differences in students' motivation and achievement in learning chemistry taught by those two methods. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there was a significant difference in the application of the Auditory Intellectually Repetition method with the Everyone Is Teacher Here method measured by motivation and achievement in learning chemistry on the subject matter of hydrocarbons.

Abstract

Research on the Effectiveness of Concept Change Oriented Learning with Dual Situated Learning Model (DSLM) Assisted by Multi Representations (MRs) to Improve Acid-Base Concept Understanding of High School Students is a quantitative study which employs a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design pretest-posttest. The research subjects were 70 students of class XI pattern 5 SMAN 4 Malang for the academic year 2020/2021 which comprised two classes taken by cluster random sampling, one class as the control class (34 students) and one class (36 students) as the experimental class. The research data was collected using the acid-base concept understanding test instrument (TPKAB) which comprised 25 items (17 items for two-tier questions and 8 items for multiple choice). The research hypothesis was examined through the ANCOVA test assisted by the SPSS 21.0 for windows program with a significance level of = 0.05. The results demonstrated the increase in the average value of the experimental class was higher than the increase in the average score of the control class after learning acid-base material. Meanwhile, the results of the delay-test demonstrated the PK-DSLM-MRs were effective in maintaining the retention of students' conceptual understanding on acid-base material. PK-DSLM-MRs gave the strongest influence on the group concept of acid-base strength. The number of misconceptions and students who experience misconceptions in the control class is more than the number of misconceptions and students who experience misconceptions in the experimental class.

Abstract

As a newly established campus, Sunan Doe Institute possesses a lot of lackings; one of them is that there is no laboratory available for the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Tadris up until now. The unavailability of this laboratory has a lot of influence on the practicum skills and experience of science students, especially the students of Chemistry department and science department. Chemistry is a branch of science that studies concepts at the macroscopic, submicroscopic and symbolic levels. This characteristic reinforces that chemistry learning requires supporting facilities in the form of a laboratory. One of the materials that involves the comprehension of macroscopic, microscopic and symbolic material is the concept of acid-base titration. The unavailability of laboratories at Sunan Doe Institute requires lecturers to provide alternative learning media that can provide practicum experience in the laboratory. One of the media that can provide practicum experience and can give students active participation in its usage is interactive multimedia. This research used the 4D research and development model developed by Thiagarajan. The results of the product assessment by material experts obtained a percentage of 90.80% with a valid category and no need for revision. Media experts gave a score of 96.19% in the valid category and no need for revision. The results of the small group trial were 90.78% in the valid category and did not need revision. Based on these results, the interactive multimedia acid-base titration developed was declared valid and suitable to be used in learning activities.
