Abstract

Geothermal resources can be explored with aerial photographs followed by surveys and analysis of geological, geochemical and geophysical data as well as shallow drilling. This research was conducted to determine the potential of geothermal resources using a camera capable of capturing infrared rays from objects and photo targets.Geothermal exploration is generally carried out with an initial survey using remote imagery and aerial photography techniques. Taking photos using a tool equipped with a Thermal Infrared Sensor (TIRS), namely a camera equipped with Forward Looking InfraRed (FLIR).The initial survey in this study was conducted at five locations of geothermal springs in the Sangkanhurip area, Kuningan, West Java. From these five locations using FLIR cameras detected geothermal resources with hot spring temperatures between 30 to 40 degrees Celsius.To find out the types of rocks that exist, a geological survey was carried out to make a geological map. The data and information obtained are then analyzed to obtain a map that displays geology with surface temperature data in the study area.This map can be utilized by companies interested in exploring and producing geothermal energy for use as a source of energy for Geothermal Power Generation (PLTP). Further analysis can be carried out with the Geochemical Method for predicting subsurface temperature. This discovery fulfills the research objective of detecting geothermal resources using infrared rays.

Abstract

Indonesia has considerable potential for its 23.36 MW geothermal energy resource. The resource is utilized not only for indirect uses, such as electric power generation but also for direct uses, such as hot water pool purposes. Traditional drying, which relies on heat energy from the sun, can only be done during the day, and if it rains, drying is hampered. A continuous drying process can produce products with the water content that is not reduced efficiently. The use of geothermal energy can maintain the continuity of the drying process because the heat flow is stable and continuous compared to sunlight. An oven-shaped dryer by the FTKE Community Service Team (PkM) that uses the geothermal energy has been installed and introduced to the community in Ciparay Village, Pamijahan District, Bogor, Wes Java. This PkM Activity aims to provide examples and socialize geothermal energy-powered drying ovens for drying agricultural and plantation products. The method is to survey geothermal energy potential, conduct design work, and introduce a drying oven for agricultural products. This tool is hoped to help local communities dry agricultural and plantation products, such as tea leaves, grains, and various other agricultural and plantation products. With these result, it is hopes that this tool can be used by group of farmers and planters in other locations with geothermal energy resources. The PkM FTKE team has applied a similar drying tool in geothermal prospect areas in the Cisolok (Sukabumi), Batukuwung (Serang), and Ciseeng-Parung (Bogor).

Abstract

Ceramic mosaic is the art of arranging or combining ceramic pieces of certain colors and sizes to form an aesthetic pattern. Based on the evaluation results on the previous Community Service (PkM) implementation, it was found that the knowledge of the participants about mosaics, especially in terms of composition of shapes and colors, had not been fully mastered. Referring to this, this PkM activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of participants in the Asem Baris area of gang V, RT 05, RW 05, in applying mosaics to furniture in the form of tables made of used wood. The method used in the preparation stage was to conduct experiments to obtain ceramics as the main raw material for mosaics, and to design a table with a disassembly system. At the stage of implementing PkM, the parsipatory and mentoring methods are carried out during the product development process.   The results of this activity showed an increase in the participants' understanding and skills in applying the composition of shapes and colors in mosaics. This can be seen in the results of PkM in the form of mosaics with interesting abstract and regular patterns even though they only use a combination of two colors

Abstract

Land subsidence has long occurred around the Special Capital Region of Jakarta. It is important to know and deal with Land subsidence events which also cause various negative impacts. Aim: When large amounts of groundwater are withdrawn from certain types of rocks, such as fine-grained sediments, land subsidence occurs. The rock compacts because the water helps to keep the ground in place. When the water is removed, the rocks collapse in on themselves.The immediate impact is the building collapse around the Kota Tua of DKI Jakarta. Methodology and Results: The research method used is a quantitative descriptive survey method by observing the amount of land subsidence that occurs in the Kota Tua area and its surroundings. The results showed that there has been a vertical land subsidence that varies between 20-60 cm. Based on the results of the resistivity values and coordinates plotted on the Regional Geological Map (Jakarta and Kep Seribu), the research location is classified into Lithology: Clay, Sand Silt, Gravel, and Pebbles (Quartenary deposits). The phenomenon, land subsidence, is caused by a combination of various parameters, including natural consolidation of alluvial soils, excessive groundwater extraction, and also building loads from infrastructure development and tectonic factors. Conclusion, significance, and impact study: Knowing the value of land subsidence and its location is expected to support urban planning, basic infrastructure planning and development, housing, settlement planning, and local financial improvement in efforts to mitigate land subsidence disasters.

Abstract

Daerah Cogreg, Kecamatan Parung, Kabupaten Bogor memiliki potensi panas bumi cukup besar. Meskipun belum dapat dimanfaatkan untuk pembangkitan tenaga listrik, energi panas bumi telah dimanfaatkan secara tradisional antara lain untuk pemandian air panas. Masyarakat setempat memiliki produk pertanian, perkebunan serta mampu memanfaatkan endapan mata air panas karena kandungan mineral sulfur antara lain untuk obat kulit. Sebuah alat pengering telah dirancang-bangun untuk membantu masyarakat daerah Cogreg, Bogor yang dapat digunakan untuk proses pengeringan hasil pertanian, perkebunan, maupun pengeringan endapan sulfur menjadi tepung bahan obat kulit. Pada alat ini energi panas diserap dan dialirkan ke ruang pengering sederhana yang dapat dibuat duplikat oleh masyarakat setempat. Sebagai bentuk dari pengabdian masyarakat telah dilakukan percontohan operasi alat untuk pengeringan endapan surfur menjadi bahan obat kulit.
