This research examined social inequality and the resulting conflicts in the movie "Fantastic Mr. Fox." The objectives were to identify and analyze the portrayal of social inequality within the film using Max Weberâ€™s theory of social stratification. Using descriptive qualitative method, the study involved detailed analysis of the movie script to uncover these themes. The findings revealed that the farmers, representing the upper class, oppress the animal community, which symbolizes the lower class. This dynamic led to various conflicts, highlighting the struggles and resistance of the underprivileged against the powerful. Film analysis demonstrated how animated films can reflect real-world social hierarchies. In conclusion, the research provided a deeper understanding of the use of popular media to comment on societal issues and emphasizes the importance of empathy and collective action to address inequality. This study contributes to the field by showcasing the potential of animated films as tools for social commentary and education. This study highlights the capacity of animated films to serve as effective mediums for social critique, urging viewers to recognize and challenge societal inequalities. The findings underscore the necessity for empathy and collective action in addressing systemic oppression

This research deals with characterization analysis. The objective of the research are (1) to know how Estella or Cruella’s characterization is described in “Cruella 2021” movie; (2) to know Estella or Cruella’s conflicts in “Cruella 2021” movie; 3) to know Estella or Cruella’s characterization can we emulate in “Cruella 2021” movie. The researcher used a qualitative approach based on a document study. The method used in this research is the descriptive method. The researcher took data from the script of the film “Cruella” as primary data. The researcher takes subtitles, several articles, and other secondary data sources related to the “Cruella” film. The researcher used the documentation technique to get the data in this research. The theory in this research combines structural approach and objective theory. The characterization analysis of this research is based on the characterization theory according to Jacob and Saini. The results and conclusion of this research are as follows; (1) Cruella’s characterization based on what the characters say, Cruella’s characterization are a good daughter, a good friend, a little psycho, a trouble maker, a grudge and brave. Based on what the characters do: grumpy, break promise, talented, trouble maker, grudge and a good friend. Based on what the others think/ say: talented, rude and evil ; (2) Cruella’s conflict; internal conflicts, Cruella blamed herself for her mother's death, so she was very sad, Cruella is furious knowing the real killer of her mother's death and that's what makes her want to take her revenge. External conflict, the conflict of Cruella with Baroness, the conflict between Cruella with her friends, Jasper and Horace (3) Cruella’s good characterization that can we emulate is a good daughter, a good friend, brave and talented.

The aims of the study focused on analyzing the types and the meaning of idiomatic expressions in the script of The Good Dinosaur Movie proposed by the theory of McCarthy and O’Dell (2010). This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The data from this study were taken from the script of The Good Dinosaur movie produced by Pixar Animated studios and released by Walt Disney Picture. The data were analyzed by identifying the idiomatic expression in the movie script into 6 types and classifying the word in each type of idiomatic expression. The researcher classified words into idiomatic expression by reading all the script in detail and watching the movie. Then the researcher analyzing the word by trying to find the correct word or the real meaning, after that the researcher can decide the word was called as an idiomatic expression. In theory, McCarthy and O’Dell divide idiomatic expressions into six types namely fixed statement, proverb, simile, cliché and euphemism. The researcher found four types of idiomatic expressions in this movie, they are 18 (56%) data types of fixed statement, 11 (34%) data types of proverb, 2 (6%) data types of simile, 1 (4%) data types of cliché, and the most dominant type of idiomatic expressions is fixed statement. The researcher suggest to future researchers to analyze the idiomatic expressions in other literary work such as song lyrics, drama, novel, etc

This program emphasizes public speaking training, a crucial skill for educators to enhance their personal branding within the Bina Insani Integrated Islamic School Network. Public speaking skills are essential for educators, as they can be applied in various contexts within the educational setting and the broader teaching community. Data gathered from interviews indicate that numerous instructors continue to experience insecurity and shyness when required to engage in public speaking. Nonetheless, public speaking is obligatory for them. Factors contributing to their lack of confidence include insufficient knowledge and the advantages of learning public speaking skills. This service was conducted in the professional setting of JSIT educators in Semarang City, specifically at SD IT Bina Insani in Semarang City. The methodology employed in this service comprises a pre-test, lecture, training, question-and-answer session, implementation, and post-test.

Improving students' writing skills is the most important thing in their academic journey, yet it often poses some difficulties. This research was aimed to explore into this critical area, specifically focusing on improving students' ability in writing descriptive text. Moreover, it seeks to determine the effectiveness of applying either one or two writing techniques in order to achieve this objective.The study was conducted among 25 students in the VIII H class at SMP Negeri 29 Semarang. To measure the impact of different writing techniques, pre-tests and post-tests were conducted as research instrument. The control group were instructed to utilize the brainstorming technique exclusively, while the experimental group were treated by receiving instruction using both brainstorming and webbing techniques. Upon analysis of the collected data, the results showed a significant difference in students' achievement in writing descriptive text between the two groups. Specifically, the t-test value was calculated of 8.47 meaning that it surpassed the critical t-table value of 2.069 at a 5%. This differences underscores the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha), indicating the efficiency of the brainstorming plus webbing techniques in developing some improvements in students' descriptive writing skills compared to just utilizing brainstorming alone. These findings hold deep implications for academical practices aimed at improving students' writing abilities. By explaining the effectiveness of utilizing multiple teaching strategies, this research not only contributes to the academic conversation on effective teaching techniques but also provides valuable insights for educators seeking to level up their teaching approaches for the benefit of their students' academic development. _______________________________________________________________________________________ Meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa merupakan hal yang sangat penting dalam tahapan akademis mereka, namun sering kali merupakan tantangan yang signifikan. Dalam penelitian ini, kami berusaha untuk menelusuri ruang lingkup ini, dengan fokus khusus pada meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam membuat dan menyusun teks deskriptif. Selain itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan efektivitas dari penggunaan satu atau dua teknik menulis dalam mencapai tujuan ini. Studi ini dilakukan dengan mengajak 25 siswa yang terdaftar di kelas VIII H di SMP Negeri 29 Semarang. Untuk menilai dampak pendekatan pengajaran yang berbeda, pre-test dan post-test dijadikan sebagai alat untuk mengukur nilai kemampuan siswa selama penelitian berlangsung. Kelompok kontrol atau control group menjalani pembelajaran hanya dengan menggunakan teknik brainstorming saja, sementara kelompok eksperimen atau experimental group menerima pembelajaran yang menggunakan pengabungan dari teknik brainstorming dan webbing. Setelah menganalisis data yang terkumpul dari pre-test dan post-test, hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dalam pencapaian siswa dalam menulis teks deskripsi antara kedua kelompok. Temuan ini memiliki implikasi yang mendalam bagi praktik pengajaran yang bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa. Dengan menjelaskan efektivitas penggunaan berbagai strategi pengajaran, penelitian ini tidak hanya memberikan kontribusi pada diskusi ilmiah tentang metodologi pengajaran yang efektif tetapi juga memberikan wawasan berharga bagi pendidik yang ingin mengoptimalkan pendekatan pengajaran mereka demi kemajuan akademis siswa mereka.

Pengabdian ini memfokuskan pada kegiatan sosialisasi kesehatan fisik dan kesehatan mental yang disasarkan pada remaja karang taruna Kelurahan Pagerwojo Kecamatan Limbangan Kabupaten Kendal. Fungsi dari kegiatan ini adalah memberikan edukasi kepada remaja agar memiliki kesadaran akan kesehatan diri mereka yang dimulai dari kesehatan jasmani dan ruhani atau lebih sering disebut sebagai kesehatan mental. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Balkondes, Balai Ekonomi Desa, Kecamatan Limbangan, Kabupaten Kendal. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pendampingan ini adalah metode penyuluhan sosialisasi dan pendampingan dalam bentuk dialog dan diskusi yang didampingi oleh dosen dan praktisi psikologi. Materi yang disampaikan adalah terkait bagaimana kesehatan fisik akan mempengaruhi kesehatan mental remaja, sehingga remaja perlu bersikap aktif dalam kegiatan-kegiatan yang bernilai positif.
