Abstract

Community empowerment is one way to build human capacity and increase community participation in sustainable development. Bonsai Jambu Rafia (Bu Fia) Craft Program is an empowerment activity carried out as an effort to optimize the potential of human resources in the Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) institution of Jatirejo village. The method used is training and practice with a participatory approach (Participatory Rural Appraisal). This activity provides training and knowledge about guava stem and branch waste to be processed into handicrafts with high selling value. The goal is to bring the results of innovation based on local resources of guava stem and twig waste to the community, provide solutions to the needs of village partners in improving the economy, and prepare third parties for sustainable sales. The result was increased knowledge, skills, and independence for PKK members.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate pre-service teachers' perceptions of using Grammarly software to help them check their essays' problems. The study considers the widespread use of AI in English language learning, particularly in writing. The research method used in this paper was a quantitative survey. The instrument used was a questionnaire. 36 English Pre-service teachers from two state universities and one private university in Jember were involved in this study. The findings show a positive response based on five aspects of perception: belief, knowledge, feeling, interest, and motivation. Based on the data, 18-24 participants agree, and 2-12 participants strongly agree with the statement. This data means that more than half of the respondents positively perceive using Grammarly software in essay writing. The belief aspect is the highest frequency (65.3% of respondents agree). This data means that students mostly believe that using Grammarly can help them improve their writing skills and solve their writing problems. On the other hand, the motivation aspect received the lowest response, with less than half (48.6%) agreeing. Therefore, this study recommends that English language education programs emphasize the importance of AI in learning, particularly Grammarly.

Abstract

Spatial regression analysis is a technique employed to examine the relationship between independent and dependent variables in datasets that exhibit regional neighborhood influences or spatial effects. When a spatial effect exists for the independent variable, the Spatial Autoregressive (SAR) regression can be utilized. The Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) is a commonly used parameter estimator for SAR. However, due to the limitations of MLE, the Bayesian method provides an alternative approach for parameter estimation. This study compares the results of SAR estimations using both MLE and Bayesian methods to determine the most accurate estimation model. Both methods were implemented in this research to model the factors affecting the Human Development Index (HDI) in East Java Province for the year 2022. The findings indicate that the Bayesian SAR offers a superior proposed model compared to the MLE SAR. The factors influencing the HDI in East Java Province in 2022 include poverty, per capita expenditure, and the presence of an upper middle-class manufacturing industry.

Abstract

Agrowisata merupakan bagian dari suatu objek wisata yang menfaatkan pertanian sebagai objek wisata. Tujuan dari agrowisata yakni untuk memperluas pengetahuan, pengalaman rekreasi atau sarana , dan dapat melakukan hubungan usaha dalam bidang pertanian. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengembangan Agrowisata yang dapat diterapkan oleh Agrowisata PUJA (Putra Jambu) dengan menggunakan alat analisis SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang ada pada lingkungan internal dan eksternal yang ada di Agrowisata PUJA (Putra Jambu). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan juni – juli 2024. Metode penentuan sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan dua metode yaitu purposive sampling dan accindental sampling yang terdiri dari pengelola Agrowisata PUJA (Putra Jambu), tokoh masyarakat Desa Jatirejo, masyarakat sekitar Agrowisata PUJA (Putra Jambu), dan pengunjung Agrowisata PUJA (Putra Jambu), dengan jumlah 91 responden. Pada hasil analisis SWOT Agrowisata PUJA (Putra Jambu) pada posisi kuadran I, sehingga strategi yang paling sesuai digunakan adalah strategi strengths-opportunities (S-O) atau strategi
