Abstract

Cumulative fluid production during 2009 - 2021 in the Betung Field, which is the research location and is located in the Jambi sub-basin-South Sumatra Basin (Barber et al., 2005), amounted to 277,923.52 MBbl. The relationship between porosity and permeability can be said in general that if the porosity is greater, the permeability will be greater, but in reality it will be found that certain layers will have large porosity but small permeability, such as in layers containing clay or shale. Mineralogical composition plays an important role, especially with regard to clays, involving several compositions including illite, smectite, kaolinite and chlorite. The presence of quartz and feldspar increases permeability, while clay minerals and calcite tend to have the opposite effect (Jose M. Carcione et al., 2019). The analysis carried out included XRD analysis to determine the mineral composition of the reservoir sandstone of the Airbenakat formation, rock quality analysis (porosity and permeability), well log analysis and then the overall analysis results were linked to production data. Based on XRD analysis, petrophysical analysis of wells 209 and 217 in the Betung field, Airbenakat formation, Jambi sub-basin, South Sumatra basin, the results of XRD and petrophysical analysis show the presence of clay content consisting of Kaolinite, Illite, Smectite and Chlorite which has an influence on reservoir quality, especially permeability, where the greater the clay content, the more obstructed fluid flow is.

Abstract

The magmatic arc of Sumatra Island, which is indicated by the presence of the Barisan Mountains zone on the west side of Sumatra Island with a general direction northwest - southeast, makes Mount Masurai, which is administratively in Merangin Regency, Jambi Province, become one of the volcanoes on Sumatra Island. Geographically, the peak of Mount Masurai is located at coordinates 101o 51' 28.60" E and 2o 30' 09.19" S with an elevation 2915 masl. The eruption period of Mount Masurai is estimated to have occurred twice during the eruption period. Based on the lack of information about volcanoes, this research was conducted to determine the characteristic and distribution of pyroclastics from Mount Masurai. In the area around Mount Masurai, remnants of volcanic eruptions were found, in the form of pyroclastic flows and falls. From data collection based on the results of geological mapping and petrographic analysis, pyroclastic rocks were found in the area around Mount Masurai with lithology in the form of Andesite Breccia, Laharic Breccia Pumice Breccia, Lapilli stone and Tuff. This is reinforced by the results of petrographic analysis of rock samples which are dominated by the presence of a glass

Abstract

Water resources are renewable natural resources that have a volume with constant conditions in the hydrological cycle. The constant presence of water in the hydrological cycle can make water a source of energy. Water potential is also influenced by the presence of high rainfall in an area. The higher the rainfall, the higher the potential of water as a source of renewable energy, one of which is a micro-hydro power plant. The use of energy sources from hydropower has great potential in hilly complexes that have large river networks. To meet the need for electrical energy in the Rantau Kermas Village area, Jangkat District, Merangin Regency, Jambi Province, a water discharge calculation is needed to determine the estimated availability of energy. The calculation of water discharge in the Rantau Kermas Village Area, Jangkat District, Merangin Regency, Jambi Province was carried out using the floating method with the results obtained being 4,644 m3/s. and can increase or decrease depending on the rainy season or dry season. Water discharge value data can be used as information for the purposes of developing water resources as a Micro Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH) in the discharge

Abstract

PT. Adaro Indonesia is one of the largest coal companies in Indonesia with one of its production operations located in the southern tutupan pit area. This research was conducted to analyze the failure time that occurred in the outpit dump area of the southern tutupan pit. There is a development pattern behavior that occurs on the slope, namely linear reaching behavior, onset of failure (OOF), progressive reaching behavior, failure to post-failure reaching behavior. From the deformation, the slope movement status of the three GPS used (G21, G73, and G76) is known, namely safe conditions are at a speed of ˂ 50 mm, careful conditions are at a speed of 50 mm - 85 mm, alert conditions are at a speed of 85 mm - 105 mm, and dangerous conditions are at a speed of ˃ 105 mm. Furthermore, a back analysis of landslides was carried out from deformation data with different time windows. Landslide predictions with time windows (1 hour, 3 hours, 12 hours) each occurred on the dates (February 9, February 10, February 10) and time windows (1 day, 3 days, 6 days) occurred on the dates (February 11, February 12, February 14). So the 3-hour time window is appropriate. The 3-hour time window data will be used to carry out forward analysis of landslides based on deformation data taken from March 14 - April 30. From the results of the deformation, velocity, and inverse velocity calculations, the predicted time of the landslide occurred on June 12. Furthermore, the engineer can carry out an evacuation where the evacuation time is 6 hours before the landslide occurs.
