Abstract

Sungai Terap Village, Betara District, Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency is one of the areas in Jambi Province which is composed of peat soil. Peat land in this village is used by the community as agricultural and plantation land. As a result, the peat soil is degraded and damaged, causing groundwater pollution. The application of the resistivity geoelectric method can answer the question of groundwater pollution. In the current method that is injected into the earth and measures the potential difference on the surface. Geoelectric measurements were carried out in 4 lines with a length of 200 meters, electrode separation of 10 meters and n = 4. From the measurement results, it was found that groundwater was polluted due to peat soil because it had a very small resistivity value, namely 0.625-2.064 Ωm. This is because the chemical content contained in the peat soil will be carried away by rainwater that enters the surface. The effect of sea water intrusion can also pollute groundwater through drainage channels built on the peatlands.

Abstract

Abstract

Carbonate reservoirs are usually difficult to map and identify in seismic sections due to their complex structure and diagenetic material with high heterogeneity. The East Java Basin is a perfect example of these complex carbonate structures with excellent hydrocarbon accumulation. In order to obtain a better characterization of the carbonate reservoir in this basin, acoustic impedance inversion is performed in here. Acoustic impedance is a product of seismic P wave velocity and density, where velocity and density are properties commonly used to describe rocks in a reservoir. Based on the sensitivity analysis results, the sensitive parameters to describe the reservoir are acoustic impedance, porosity, sonic, and density. Inversion results showed the range of acoustic impedance values in the Tuban Formation between 23000 – 50000 (ft/s).(g/cc) and porosity transformation results showed a value range of 8 – 22%. Depth structure map, acoustic impedance and porosity section slices showed the distribution pattern of reservoir zones lying in the West - Southwest direction with high structural elevations or located on the top structure reservoir carbonate at a depth of 2500 meters below the surface

Abstract

F3 Southern North Sea Netherlands Basin field is an oil and gas field that has a complex fault structure and stratigraphy due to compressional tectonic movements during the Late Cretaceous and Tertiary eras. Information on the presence of faults can act as a trap or migration which then greatly affects oil and gas production and the injection process. A seismic attribute analysis of similarity and curvature was used to interpret the presence of fault structures to obtain information on the presence of subsurface faults in the F3 Netherlands field. The interpretation of the similarity attribute calculation results shows that the faults are marked with a minimum similarity value of 0.77, 0.68, and 0.66 at the time slices Z = 400ms, 1700ms, and 1800ms. The maximum value of most post-positive curvature represents the presence of an ascending fault block and the maximum value of the most negative curvature represents the presence of a descending fault block at the same time incision. Based on the similarity and curvature attribute calculations, it can be interpreted that the major faults in Top Zechstein to Upper Pliocene and the presence of successive faults on Top Zechstein to Base Lower Cretaceous are faults due to the formation of the Zechstein salt dome intrusion

Dewi IK, MZ Nasri, Resta IL, Juventa J.2020. Identification of Peat Land Pollution in Sungai Terap Village Using Wenner Configuration Geoelectric Method. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang  20 Oktober 2020. pp. xxx.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI). Groundwater pollution arising from the conversion of functions on peatlands in Sungai Terap Village. To identify the ground air pollution, the geoelectric method of research using Wenner was carried out. This research was conducted in 4 tracks with a length of 200 meters and the distance between the electrodes was 10 meters with 4 times the electrode spacing. The results of this study are 2D subsurface models in the form of apparent resistivity from the inversion results. The resistivity value generated in the 2D model ranges from 0.381-19 Ωm. The water content at the research location with a very small resistance value between 0.4-1.25 Ωm. The presence of groundwater is estimated to be trapped in the alluvium layer at a depth of 7.75-19.4 meters. The groundwater is thought to have been polluted because it has a resistivity value <10 Ωm. Almost every measurement path is found in polluted air due to rainfall and sea water intrusion.

Abstract

Abstract

One of the areas that can be mined for minerals in the form of igneous rocks, such as andesite and basalt, is Siulak Deras Village in Gunung Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province. These rocks are composed of rock minerals and thus do not require international sale. Mining is a relatively straightforward process that does not necessitate the use of sophisticated technology, as it is conducted at the surface. The objective of this research is to gain insight into the distribution of igneous rocks in order to facilitate the interpretation of rock reserves and deposits through the application of the geoelectric resistivity method. The study commenced with the mapping of the geological features pertinent to the excavation of igneous rocks, followed by the planned collection of geoelectrical data utilising a four-track Wenner configuration, with a track length of 240 metres and a track distance of 10 metres. The resistance values thus obtained should be converted into a two-dimensional cross-sectional view. The findings of this research indicate that the area exhibits potential for the presence of igneous rock, as evidenced by resistance values exceeding 2500 Ωm. The distribution of subsurface igneous rocks based on resistivity is thought to occur randomly, as evidenced by geoelectric lines. However, the numbers are very large. The data processing results indicate that the igneous rocks in this area are the result of volcanic activity rather than magma intrusion.
