Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries that adopt a dual banking system, where conventional banks and Islamic banks operate simultaneously. This causes competition between the two. When compared to conventional banks, the number of Islamic banks in Indonesia is still relatively small, but Islamic banking in Indonesia continues to increase. However, at Bank Aceh Syariah, the increase in the use of Islamic banks is not in line with the increase in the number of employees, where high employee turnover shows their low employee engagement so that it can affect company competition. The goal of this study was to see how disparities in the effect of Job Enrichment on employee engagement and competitive advantage at PT affected employee engagement and competitive advantage. Bank Aceh Syariah is viewed from both a traditional and Islamic standpoint. This study used a quantitative research method with a total sample size of 346 respondents. This study was split into two parts: (1) Model Suitability Testing and (2) Hypothesis Testing with SEM (Structural Equation Model) analysis. The findings of this study show that the effect of job enrichment on employee engagement has a significant impact from both a conventional and Islamic perspective, as well as the effect of job enrichment on competitive advantage from both a conventional and Islamic perspective, which has a significant impact, and the effect of employee engagement. From both a conventional and an Islamic standpoint, competitive advantage has a tremendous impact. When the results of the influence of each variable seen in the Islamic perspective are compared to the influence of the variables seen in the conventional perspective, the results of the influence of each variable seen in the Islamic perspective have a higher value. This demonstrates that each of the employees of PT. Bank Aceh Syariah has a person who believes in and fears Allah SWT, and that Islamic values and sharia principles are observed in their work.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between emotional and spiritual intelligence from an Islamic perspective, with creativity and proactive attitude as mediating variables. The research utilized a survey among students at several private Islamic universities in Medan City. These universities were selected due to their Islamic vision and the presence of central business incubators or entrepreneurship centers. Students who carried out entrepreneurial activities from semester 3 to semester 7, totaling 120 people, were selected as sample size sufficiently representative of the population using a simple random sampling method. Data analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) from the statistical software package LISREL 8.80. The results showed that all the hypotheses tested in this study were supported, meaning that the Islamic perspective on emotional and spiritual intelligence was proven to encourage entrepreneurial intentions at Islamic universities in Medan City with creativity and proactive attitude as a serial mediator. Creativity and proactive attitudes mediate the relationship between emotional and spiritual intelligence towards entrepreneurial intention. Creativity and proactive attitudes reinforce the relationship between emotional and spiritual intelligence toward entrepreneurial intention. The better the creativity and proactive attitudes of the respondents, the stronger the relationship between emotional and spiritual intelligence towards entrepreneurial intention.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance our understanding of the determinants of risk culture within Islamic Banking and provide valuable guidance to management for strengthening it. Using an explanatory research design, quantitative methodology, and importance-performance matrix analysis, we distributed Google Forms to 400 employees via email and WhatsApp. The pivotal determinants of risk culture identified in the study are organization, competency, and leadership. Risk culture, which includes organizational principles, norms, frameworks, and guidelines shaping risk management, is primarily determined by the organization. The research emphasizes the crucial role of leadership in establishing, cultivating, and implementing a risk culture, highlighting its substantial impact on upholding risk management standards. Underlining the pivotal significance of organization and leadership is essential for strengthening risk culture in Islamic Banking. This involves enhancing organizational capabilities through core values, regulatory frameworks, and a steadfast commitment to robust risk management standards. Leadership in Islamic banking holds a critical position, providing unwavering support for minimizing errors, fostering operational consistency, and maintaining a resolute track record of achievements. By emphasizing these three interrelated dimensions, the study contributes to the advancement of sustainable and resilient Islamic banking practices on a global scale.
