Abstract

A Teacher is one element influencing the students success in their academic work at school. For that reason, the teacher needs to possess good qualities. The aim of this research is to identify what makes a good teacher in the eye of junior high school students. The research employed quantitative method which utilized numerical data to assess the students perceptions of the teachers’ qualities. 20 students of junior high school were involved in this study. To gain the data the study used questionnaire and interview as the data collection. The findings revealed that a good teacher should possess four different virtues. They are They are technical knowledge, pedagogy skill, interpersonal skill and personality traits with the most wanted qualities are interpersonal skill and personality traits. In the light of the research's findings, it is anticipated that teachers will be able to adopt the personas required by the students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa kelas IV SDN 280518 Orudua Desa Hilibanua Kecamatan Namohalu Esiwa Kabupaten Nias Utara, terhadap materi operasi hitung bilangan bulat melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD). Permasalahan utama dalam pembelajaran sebelumnya adalah rendahnya hasil belajar siswa serta kurangnya partisipasi aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 12 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes hasil belajar, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan melalui dua siklus tindakan yang mencakup tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil evaluasi terhadap perangkat pembelajaran (RPP) menunjukkan peningkatan, di mana pada siklus I mencapai 78%, dan meningkat menjadi 98% pada siklus II. Dari aspek pelaksanaan pembelajaran, baik yang dilakukan oleh guru maupun keterlibatan siswa, diperoleh hasil 80% pada siklus I dan meningkat menjadi 98% pada siklus II. Adapun hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan, yaitu dari rata-rata nilai 75 pada siklus I menjadi 90 pada siklus II. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi operasi hitung bilangan bulat di tingkat sekolah dasar.

Abstract

21st-century learning demands mastery of critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration skills. However, these skills are difficult to develop if the learning approach still focuses on lectures and memorization. Deep learning, which emphasizes meaningful understanding, reflection, and application in real life, is one potential strategy for bridging this gap. Unfortunately, most previous research has only examined deep learning in digital contexts, although many schools in Indonesia still have limited access to technology. The service aims to socialize the process of implementing deep learning that can be applied in classroom environments with limited access to technology, especially to describe student interactions that represent their skills in understanding, applying, and reflecting. With a socialization approach using two stages of activities, namely the process of implementing activities and evaluation, activities were carried out for grade 11 students at SMA Swadaya Karya Ciwidey, Bandung Regency. The results show that the application of deep learning-based learning encourages students to understand concepts more critically (such as distinguishing between laziness and procrastination), relate the material to authentic experiences, and develop reflective problem-solving strategies. College students also show improvements in engagement, self-awareness, and high-level thinking skills, even without the support of digital technology. This study underscores the importance of learning designs that focus on immersive learning experiences that are relevant to students' lives, even in the context of limited resources.

Abstract

This study aims to recognize the students’ mindset profile and find out how mindset as one of the elements of agency helps senior high school students to cope with difficulties in online learning. This study used a qualitative case study approach involving two students from different Senior High Schools in Cimahi. This study which specifically focused on the mindset of student agency gained its data from observation, interview, and documentation. The results of the analysis revealed that belief in one’s capability is the main element in mindset since it influences one’s attitude towards online learning, achievement in learning, and resilience concerning learning online. Regarding to the result of the study, it can be concluded that developing student agency can be started by encouraging students to believe in their capacity.
