Abstract

Abstract     This study attempted to find out the effect of graphic organizers and text types upon the students’ reading competency. The subject of this study was the first grade students of SMAN 8 Denpasar. The independent variable was graphic organizers and conventional reading strategy (placebo), and the dependent variable wasreading competency. Text types was the moderator variable. The study was an experiment with posttest only control group design. The total number of population was 13 classes, which consisted of 586 students. From the population, two classes consisting of 92 students were used as samples. They were divided into two groups; experimental group and control group by multistage random sampling technique. Post-test was administered at the end of treatments and then analyzed by using two way ANOVA. The result of the analysis showed that: (1) There is an effect of graphic organizers upon the students’ reading competency. (2) There is an interaction between graphic organizers and text types upon students reading competency   Key words: graphic organizers, text types, and reading competency

Abstract

Abstract

Sustainable Development Goals aims to reduce inequality, however, this problem still occurs in Bali Province. Data from its Industry showed a gap in SME performance between cities, with the lowest performance of MSE in Karangasem Regency. The objective of this research was to analyze: the effect of Village Own Enterprise (VOE) resources and social capital to entrepreneurship and performance of craftsmen. Data used were quantitative and qualitative collected through observation, and in-depth interviews, with the SEM-PLS program used for its analyzes. The results show that the effect of VOE resource is positive but insignificant to entrepreneurship of craftsmen, while social capital is positive and significant. Furthermore entrepreneurship does not mediate the effect of VOE resources on performance, while entrepreneurship mediates the effect of social capital. The suggestion of this research were to VOE management in order to more introduce the existence of VOE, subsequent researchers need to add external variable that possible influence the performance of craftsmen for example government policy.

Abstract

AbstractResearch on the determinants of entrepreneurship and performance of micro-small business actors (MSEs) has been carried out, but research on the role of entrepreneurship and performance on the welfare of MSE actors is limited. This study analyzes the role of BUMDes resources and social capital on Artisans' entrepreneurship, performance, and welfare. Data were collected by observation, questionnaires, and in-depth interviews and analyzed using Partial Least Square. The results show that BUMDes resources have not played a role, while social capital has been proven. The implications of research on BUMDes management and Village Community Empowerment Institutions must further introduce the existence of BUMDes. This will increase the interaction of BUMDes managers with the village community. The Ministry of Industry and Trade should work together to create an association of artisans of export products.  The next researcher is advised to examine the role of the government.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam bentuk workshop berkelanjutan ini dilaksanakan berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilaksanakan oleh Prof. Dr. A.A. Istri Ngurah Marhaeni, M.A (2009). Ada tiga tahap pelaksanaan kegiatan: pelatihan, implementasi, dan refleksi serat perencanaan tindak lanjut.bSecara umum, pelaksanaan P2M berjalan dengan baik, semua peserta: 17 orang guru Bahasa Inggris SMA dan 3 pengawas mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris SMA Kecamatan Buleleng, hadir dalam setiap tahapan kegiatan. Guru-guru mampu mengimplemenasikan instrument penilaian kinerja menulis  dengan  baik  pula.  Instrument  tersebut  dapat  membantu  guru  untuk  lebih objektif  untuk  memberikan  penilaian  terhadap  kemampuan  menulis  siswa;  melatih siswa untuk bisa menjadi pebelajar mandiri, lebih teliti karena berpatokan pada instrument yang sangat rinci sehingga mereka   mampu mengevaluasi dirinya sendiri; dan adanya pemantauan dalam proses menulis membantu siswa untuk menghasilkan karya  yang lebih baik.  Namun, disisi lain, pengimplementasian instrument ini juga memiliki kelemahan. Instrumen yang rinci (analitik) terkesan rumit untuk diimplementasikan oleh beberapa orang guru pada awalnya sehingga perlu waktu yang lebih banyak untuk melakukan penskoran. Karena instrument ini digunakan juga untuk menilai proses, maka jumlah pertemuan pun jadi bertambah sedangkan keterampilan berbahasa yang lain juga harus diajarkan, dan input siswa yang rendah juga mempengaruhi kesuksesan penimplementasian instrument. Jadi disarankan, dengan kondisi  sekolah  yang  berbeda-beda,  terutama  dari  input  siswa,  guru  agar  tetap termotivasi untuk berlatih mengimplementasikan instrument tersebut agar dapat mendorong siswa untuk berprestasi. Instrumen tersebut bisa menjadi jalan keluar untuk bisa melatih diri menjadi objektif, melatih siswa untuk sadar akan dikelemahan dan kelebihan yang dimilikinya dalam menulis, serta mampu menghargai suatu proses dari pada hanya sekadar hasil.

Abstract

Jadi disarankan, dengan kondisi sekolah  yang  berbeda-beda,  terutama  dari  input  siswa, guru agar  tetap termotivasi untuk berlatih mengimplementasikan instrument tersebut agar dapat mendorong siswa untuk berprestasi. Instrumen tersebut bisa menjadi jalan keluar untuk bisa melatih diri menjadi objektif, melatih siswa untuk sadar akan dikelemahan dan kelebihan yang dimilikinya dalam menulis, serta mampu menghargai suatu proses dari pada hanya sekadar hasil

Abstract

Tourism sectors have great potentials in increasing regional income. The program from the government to increase the number of tourisms is to prioritize tourism development, one of which is tourism on Lombok Island. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the government role in the development of community-based tourism in Lombok, especially the Mandalika Special Economic Zone in Central Lombok Regency. The analysis technique used in this study is to use convinience sampling techniques that are rarely used in previous tourism research in Lombok. The study contended that government role in the development of community-based tourism includes planning, development of main facilities, tourism expenditure policies, making and enforcing regulations. It also underlined that the driving factors in economic growth required participation of local communities. The inhibiting factors of local communities are educational background, employment, and gender.
