Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the perception and attitude of teachers on curriculum changes in Indonesia in view of high school Biology learning in Lamongan Regency. The research applied descriptive quantitative research design. Research subjects’ number 40 high school biology teachers in Lamongan. Data was collected by online questionnaire with Google Form. Data were analyzed by percentage statistics. The results of this study showed that the perception and attitude of the teachers on curriculum changes related to the planning of learning implementation was 55% in high category. Meanwhile, the teachers’perception on curriculum changes related to the learning process of Biology was 100% in moderate category. The perception of the teachers on curriculum changes related to the assessment of Biology learning was 87,5% in very high category. It can be concluded that the perception and attitude of teachers on curriculum changes were considered positive. However, it is suggested that the policy makers and the practitioners of education to improve the quality of Biology learning process in accordance with the applicable curriculum. For other researchers to focus more on the perceptions and attitudes of teachers on curriculum changes in terms of the implementation of the biology learning process.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the increase in student creativity and to determine the increase in learning outcomes of metabolic material through the application of the expert team cooperative learning model. This research was a classroom action research and a descriptive quantitative research method. The study was conducted in two cycles with the stages of research according to Kammis and Mc. Taggart, which is in the form of a spiral cycle consisting of four steps, namely planning, implementing the action, observing, and reflecting. The object of this research was 33 students of XII MIPA 3 at SMAN 1 Paciran which consisted of 7 boys and 26 girls. The research instruments used observation sheets to determine student creativity and learning test sheets to determine student learning outcomes. The results of this research and data analysis indicate that the application of the cooperative model of the expert team can increased student learning creativity in learning metabolism, 51.51% -75.75% in cycle I increases to 82.82% -93.94% in cycle II for all indicators become very good and good qualifications. Student learning outcomes on metabolic material have increased with the application of expert team learning. First, the increased in the number of students who achieved target was shown from 15 students in cycle I to 29 students in cycle II. Second, the increased in the average score of students from 62.5 in cycle I to 75, cycle II. Third, the increased in classical completeness from 45.45% in the first cycle to 87.88% in the second cycle. So it can be concluded that the application of the expert team learning model can increase student creativity and student learning outcomes on metabolic material in class XII MIPA 3 SMAN 1 Paciran.

Abstract

The results of PISA in 2018 and TMSS in 2015 show that the quality of education in Indonesia in science and scientific problem solving is very low. The purpose of this study was to describe the analysis of the development of e-modules for the substance of genetic material integrated with YouTube based on Learning Cycle 7E to train critical thinking skills. This development research uses the ADDIE development model. This research is the initial stage of development, namely the analysis stage which includes analysis of needs, curriculum and materials. The subjects of this study were students of class XII MIPA 1 and XII MIPA 2 at SMAN 1 Paciran totaling 49 students, and 6 high school biology teachers in Lamongan Regency. Research data collection techniques with questionnaires and documentation. The questionnaire technique is based on the google form platform which is shared on WhatsApp groups. The research data were analyzed with quantitative descriptive statistics. The results of the study include needs analysis, 59.18% of teachers have difficulty in learning biology which trains students' critical thinking skills, and 81.63% of students have difficulty practicing critical thinking skills. The interest and need for e-modules resulted in 95.92% of teachers and 90.09% of students being interested and in dire need of developing e-modules based on Learning Cycle 7E. The results of the curriculum and material analysis are suitable for practicing critical thinking skills, because operational verbs are at the C4 and P4 levels in Bloom's taxonomy. This research can be concluded that teachers and students are interested and really need the development of e-modules based Learning Cycle 7E to train students' critical thinking.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengeksplorasi dan mendeskripsikan kesulitan  yang dihadapi guru biologi dalam merencanakan, melaksanakan, dan mengevaluasi pembelajaran jarak jauh pada  jenjang SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling sebanyak 2 guru biologi jenjang SMA. Data penelitian dengan teknik wawancara dan kuesioner terbuka. Kemudian dianalisis melalui tahapan reduksi data, display data, dan verifikasi dan penarikan kesimpulan. Keabsahan data diuji dengan triangulasi metode antara wawancara dan kuesioner terbuka. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kesulitan subjek penelitian dalam merencanakan pembelajaran jarak jauh antara lain: keterbatasan alokasi waktu, kesulitan dalam mempersiapkan media pembelajaran yang efektif; kendala jaringan internet saat mempersiapkan pembelajaran. Dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran jarak jauh subjek penelitian mengalami kesulitan dalam memantau dan mengontrol aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran, membangun komunikasi dengan siswa yang pasif saat pembelajaran. Sedangkan kesulitan pada tahap evaluasi adalah kesulitan dalam penilaian sikap, terutama kejujuran dan penilaian keterampilan yang tidak ideal.
