Abstract

This research is survey research using correlation techniques whics aims to determine the correlation between learning styles and cognitive ability on circle material. This research was conducted at grade VIII students of Junior High School SMP Negeri 2 Limboto, Gorontalo regency, 2017/2018 academic year with a sample of 119 students. Data collection techniques were carried out using questionnaires and test. The questionnaire is to obtain learning style data, while the test is to obtain students’ cognitive ability data on circle material. Further, the hypothesis is tested using regression and correlation analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, it is shown that there was a positive correlation between learning styles and cognitive ability on circle material at grade VIII of Junior High School SMP Negeri 2 Limboto, Gorontalo regency. The contribution of learning styles given to students’ cognitive ability on circle material is 9.14%. This value shows the influence given by the learning style of students’ cognitive ability. The result provides information that the lack of selecting and understanding of each student’s learning style influences the level of cognitive abilities, especially on circle material even though the contribution is given is 9.14%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the Problem-Solving learning model on students' Creative Thinking Ability with Number Patterns. This study involved 40 students as the research sample consisted of two classes, every 20 students in class A and 20 students in class B. The research method used was Experimental research with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The data collection technique was obtained through the pre-test and post-test results, and the data analysis technique used the covariance analysis test. The analysis results show that the creative thinking ability of students who are taught using the Problem-Solving model is better than the creative thinking skills of students trained using the direct learning model.

Abstract

This article discusses the effect of the project-based learning model on student mathematics learning outcomes in cube and block material with the aim of knowing the differences in student learning outcomes taught using project-based learning models and learning outcomes using direct learning models on cube and block material. The method used is the experimental method with the Posttest only control group design design. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling, and the data collection technique is by administering a learning achievement test in the form of an essay. The results showed that there were differences in the learning outcomes of students who were taught using the project-based learning model and the learning outcomes of students who were taught using the direct learning model where the learning outcomes of students who were taught using the project-based learning model were higher than the learning outcomes of students who were taught using direct learning models on cube and block material. Project-based learning can increase student activity and student motivation in learning that aims to provide an understanding of critical, creative and innovative thinking.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjenis Tindakan Kelas. Penelitian ditujukan guna meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VII-1 pada materi persamaan dan pertidaksamaan linear satu variabel dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E di MTs Alkhairaat Salilama. Penelitian terjadi dalam 2 siklus melewati tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, serta refleksi. Sebanyak 24 orang terlibat dalam penelitian ini dan seorang guru sebagai subjek penelitian. Instrumen penelitian yang dipakai yaitu lembar observasi kegiatan guru, lembar observasi kegiatan siswa, dan tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E bisa meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa yang ditandai dengan peningkatan di setiap siklusnya. Hasil observasi kegiatan guru meningkat dari 65,33% meningkat menjadi 88%. Adapun lembar observasi kegiatan siswa pun dari 58,83% naik ke 82,36%. Keduanya memenuhi kategori baik dan sangat baik. Sama halnya dengan hasil belajar yang juga mengalami peningkatan yaitu dari 66,67% menjadi 84,17%. Indikator keberhasilan belajar pada siklus II melalui penerapan model pembelajaran learning cycle 5e sudah terpenuhi. Dari penelitian diatas terdapat manfaat dalam mengaplikasikan model pembelajaran learning cycle 5e ialah bisa meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa dan daya tangkapnya dalam  mempelajari matematika

Abstract

Connections in mathematics refer to linking mathematical concepts with other sciences and their application in everyday life situations. Solving mathematical problems related to context can be used to develop and assess students' mathematical abilities in making connections. This research aims to describe how junior high school students use mathematical connection abilities in solving predetermined contextual problems. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data was collected through initial ability tests and mathematical connection tests and interviews. The research results show that students with high mathematical abilities tend to be able to make mathematical connections by building mathematical models, link concepts conceptually by connecting elements in SPLDV, and operate mathematical procedures correctly. However, mathematical connections are rarely made because students do not understand the solution methods. Students who have low mathematical abilities, in general, are not able to make connections according to connection indicators. So, the conclusion is that students' ability to make mathematical connections affects their ability to solve contextual mathematical problems.

Abstract

This study's objective is to determine the effect of the use of Electronic Student Worksheets (E-SW) based on Quizizz on student learning achievement. The type of research used in this study is quantitative, and it uses an experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. Where in this research design, students are given a pre-test first to determine students' initial knowledge, and the last is provided a post-test. The study's population was 87 students from grade X at Public Vocational School 1 Bulango Selatan. The research sample was chosen at random from two grades: grade X Askep B was used as an experimental grade to test E-SW based on Quizizz, and grade X Askep A was used as a control grade to compare how E-SW and textbooks are used. The findings showed that in the inferential analysis, pretest-posttest, both sets of data are normally distributed and homogeneous. This led to the covariance test (ANCOVA), which showed that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. So the results of this study show that student learning achievement are higher after being taught using E-SW based on Quizizz compared to using regular student worksheets. This means that using electronic student worksheets based on Quizizz has a positive influence on students' mathematics learning achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to identify whether there is a relationship between mathematical problem solving ability and self efficacy of VIII grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Kabila. The subjects in this study were students of class VII-D as many as 30 students. The method used in this research is a type of correlation research with a survey method using a quantitative approach and the correlation test used is the Pearson correlation test.. The technique used to analyze the data is correlation to determine the relationship between mathematical problem solving ability and self efficacy. The instruments in this study were mathematical problem solving ability test questions and non-tests in the form of self efficacy questionnaires. The results showed that there was a positive correlation between self efficacy and problem solving ability, where self efficacy contributed to problem solving ability by 45.36%.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the sources and causes of learning difficulties in mathematics among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Telaga during online learning. A descriptive research method was employed, with data collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. The results revealed an average difficulty percentage of 53.40%, with the majority falling into the medium category. Unstable network conditions were identified as the primary source of difficulties (63.91%), while limited interaction and delivery of material were the main causes (59.06%). These findings provide valuable insights for teachers and schools in designing more effective online mathematics learning strategies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Elektronik Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (E-LKPD) berbasis Quizizz pada materi barisan dan deret aritmatika untuk kelas X SMK Negeri 1 Bulango Selatan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahapan: (1) Analisis, (2) Desain, (3) Pengembangan, (4) Implementasi, (5) Evaluasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMK Negeri 1 Bulango Selatan yang berjumlah 24 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, angket respon siswa, angket respon guru, dan tes hasil belajar. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa E-LKPD memenuhi kriteria validitas dari segi media sebesar 84,72% (valid) dan dari segi materi sebesar 86,36% (valid). Selain itu tingkat kepraktisan oleh angket guru dan siswa sebesar 100% (sangat praktis). Selain itu, berdasarkan hasil angket efektivitas E-LKPD mencapai 83% (sangat efektif) yang berarti E-LKPD yang dikembangkan layak digunakan dan terbukti valid, praktis dan efektif.
