Abstract

The interest in reading in Indonesia is still relatively low according to various international surveys, so it needs to be a shared concern so that it does not have a negative impact in the future. This community service aims to increase the interest in reading of elementary school children in Brambang village through a mini library program. Low access to interesting and educational reading books is one of the main challenges in fostering a reading culture among children. This activity involves the procurement and management of a mini library equipped with a collection of books on various themes, including fairy tales, science, and inspirational stories. In addition, supporting activities such as storytelling, reading competitions, and basic literacy training are held to attract children's interest. This program is carried out collaboratively by involving the local community, parents, and volunteers. The results of the activity show an increase in children's enthusiasm for reading books, which can be seen from the increasing number of visits to the mini library and active participation in literacy activities. This program is expected to be the first step in building a sustainable literacy culture in Brambang village and can be the starting point.

Excellent service quality is the desire of all people, but until now there are still many public services whose quality is not in accordance with what is expected by the community. Motor Vehicle Testing Services are services whose quality needs to be improved considering that this testing is important to ensure that vehicles operated on the road meet technical and roadworthy requirements and do not pollute the environment. This study aims to analyze the quality of public services with a focus on the study of the UPTD PKB of Mataram City. The method used is descriptive qualitative with primary and secondary data types, data collected through observation, interviews and documentation, while data analysis techniques use interactive analysis. The results of the study show that the quality of service is in the good category. The physical evidence aspect which includes the testing building, administrative service building, and other supporting facilities are in good condition and provide comfort. Reliability which includes timeliness, cost, and service procedures also shows good results, although service time needs to be improved. The responsiveness aspect is classified as good, where service officers have the skills to handle complaints. Service officers also show good empathy through attention, seriousness, and sympathy for the needs of the community. Meanwhile, the guarantee aspect can also be said to be good, because the quality of the officers has qualifications and competence even though in terms of quantity it needs to get additional personnel.

Abstract

Berambang Hamlet, located in Batu Putih Village, Sekotong Subdistrict, possesses abundant agricultural potential in the form of bananas. However, their utilization remains limited to simple processing, such as fried bananas, which offer low economic value. The housewives in this hamlet express a strong desire to develop more diverse and economically valuable banana-based products, but they face challenges due to limited skills in production, packaging, and marketing. This community service initiative aims to enhance the economic capacity of housewives through technical training in banana processing, product packaging, and effective marketing strategies. The methods applied include participatory observation, focused group discussions, hands-on practical training, and ongoing mentoring. The results of this activity indicate a significant improvement in participants' skills, particularly in processing bananas into products such as flavored banana chips. Additionally, participants are now able to design attractive packaging and market their products both locally and through digital platforms. This initiative has also succeeded in fostering new awareness of household economic potential and has encouraged entrepreneurial spirit within the community. Thus, the program not only provides short-term benefits in the form of increased skills but also creates sustainable economic opportunities for the residents of Berambang Hamlet. This capacity-building effort is expected to serve as a starting point for the development of micro-enterprises based on local potential, thereby contributing to improved family welfare and strengthening the village economy.

Abstract

In the national development planning system as well as the regionalĀ  government system, a regulation is present as a guideline to facilitate the policy implementation process so that it can beĀ  implemented properly. Regulation or development planning policy is one of the important instruments to ensure a directed, measurable and participatory development process. The purpose of this study is to compare two regulations that are the main points of reference in the regional development planning process. The research used is library research using written materials such as manuscripts, books, newspaper and other documents. And then compiled, analyzed using comparative content analysis techniques and the concluded. This study found that the comparison between the regulation of Permendagri 86/2017 and Inmendagri 2/2025 reflects that there is a shift in the regional development planning paradigm from a manual and decentralized to a digital and centralized approach. In additions, normatively the changes between these two regulations show high strategic effectiveness because they are in line with the direction of national development which encourages institutional improvement.
