Abstract

Based on the results of the initial survey, it is known that the highest number of Tb cases in Riau Province occurred in Pekanbaru City with 3361 cases. One of the Puskesmas working areas with the highest Tb cases is the Umbansari Puskesmas working area. The results of observations generally the community has a job with an income that is still below the minimum wage, meaning that the economic status in the community specifically suffering from Pulmonary TB is more prevalent than the economic status above the minimum wage standard. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between economic status and physical condition of the house with the incidence of Tb. The type of research is quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The research was conducted at the Umbansari Health Center work area in 2023. The sample amounted to 78 people. The results showed that there was a relationship between economic status (p value 0.000) and physical condition of the house (p value 0.011) with the incidence of Tb. It is suggested that the Puskesmas is expected to use the results of this study to improve contact investigation to reduce the incidence of TB and break the chain of transmission, especially related to contact history. Keywords: Economy, Physical House Condition, Tuberculosis

Abstract

Based on data from Puskesmas Pustu Panca Mukti for the period January - September 2020, 341 cases were found in toddlers aged 1-5 years, and the incidence of ARI disease ranks first in the list of the 10 most common diseases at Puskesmas Pustu Panca Mukti. Based on an initial survey conducted by researchers around the working area of Puskesmas Pustu Panca Mukti, researchers found dense occupancy, the distance between houses which is only limited by walls and the environment around the house is not clean. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of environmental factors and smoking behavior on the incidence of ARI in toddlers. This type of research uses quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The research was conducted in July-August 2023 in the Tanjung Berlian Health Center work area. The research sample used random sampling which amounted to 77 people. The results showed that there was a relationship between the physical condition of ventilation (p value: 0.000) and family smoking behavior (p value: 0.000) with the incidence of ARI in toddlers. It is recommended that families and communities can increase awareness not to smoke when there are toddlers because it will lead to ARI disease and the Puskesmas pay more attention to family problems by conducting counseling in the form of the importance of family function and prevention of ARI incidence.  Keywords: Toddlers, ARI, Smoking, Ventilation.

Abstract

Hospital air quality is one of the causes of nosocomial infections.  This study aimed to determine the relationship between the number of airborne germs and the quality of the physical environment in the air.  This type of research is analytic observational with a cross-sectional design.  The results showed that the number of airborne germs in the operating room of the Namlea Hospital did not meet the requirements based on Permenkes No. 7 of 2019.  The temperature quality in the emergency room, HCU/ICU room, and the delivery room did not meet the requirements.  The humidity and lighting in all the examined rooms also did not meet the requirements according to Permenkes no. 7 of 2019.  Based on the results of statistical tests, the Spearman correlation test showed that the temperature, humidity, and lighting of the Namlea Hospital room did not significantly correlate with the number of germs in the room air (p-value > 0.05).  The conclusion of this study showed that humidity and lighting and the number of airborne germs in the operating room at Namlea Hospital did not meet the requirements.  Based on the results of statistical tests, there is no relationship between the number of germs in the room air and the quality of the physical environment (p-value > 0.05).  This may be because the data scale uses a numerical data scale, and the results of the data normality test show that the data distribution is not expected because the sample size is small.  Suggestions for Namlea Hospital to improve the quality of the physical environment and air microbes.

Abstract

Abstract: Stunting is one of the chronic nutritional problems that is still widely found in various parts of the world. Golewa Barat sub-district is one of the sub-districts located within the working area of Mangulewa Health Center. This region has a higher level of risk associated with the incidence of stunting. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the availability of clean water to the incidence of stunting. The research design used in this study was cross sectional. The study was conducted at the Mangulewa Health Center Working Area, West Golewa District, Ngada Regency in July 2024. The population is all mothers who have toddlers totaling 1066 respondents. The sample amounted to 73 people. The sampling technique used in this study was Simple Random Sampling. Data analysis was done univariate and bivariate. The results showed a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding (p value: 0.048) and the availability of clean water (p value: 0.002) to the incidence of stunting. It is recommended that the Puskesmas can increase public knowledge through preventive actions and health promotion to the community and conduct counseling to cadres in each village, then increase breastfeeding counseling to pregnant women, adolescents, or prospective brides. Keywords: Clean Water, Exclusive Breastfeeding, Stunting
