Abstract

This study investigates the management models of halal centers at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta and UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, focusing on balancing marketing strategies and sharia compliance. Using a qualitative methodology with a phenomenological approach, the research explores the perspectives of ten halal center managers through observations and semi-structured interviews. Thematic analysis reveals a multi-dimensional understanding of halal, extending beyond consumables to include behaviors and societal implications. Both institutions emphasize product excellence and community safety, though their approaches differ. Key findings highlight the importance of integrating religious, regulatory, and market-based perspectives in halal certification, enhancing consumer trust and business credibility. Challenges include divergent regulations between BPJPH and the MUI fatwa commission and the lack of an accessible online registration system. Future research should focus on harmonizing regulatory frameworks and expanding certification processes to other industries. This study underscores the pivotal role of Halal Centers in promoting halal literacy and supporting government initiatives, thereby fostering a robust halal industry in Indonesia.

Abstract

This article analyzes the interpretation of Ibn Qayyim Al[1]Jauziyyah with the typology theory of interpretation offered by Johanna Pink, a researcher at Freiburg University's interpretation. One of the terms being discussed here is Shifa. The term shifa is still understood with theological arguments, so it escapes health sciences. Ibn Qayyim understood it as physical and psychological healing. This research is a library research type of qualitative research. The analysis used is Johanna Pink's typology: scholar’s commentaries, institutional commentaries, and popularizing commentaries. The primary source of this research is the book of Tafsir al-Bada'I at-Tafsir Ibn Qayyim and at-Tafsir al-Qayyim and other works by Ibn Qayyim. The secondary sources are books, articles, and magazines that have theme relevance. The results of this study are, first, the verses interpreted by Ibn Qayyim al-Jauziyyah about shifa, the majority of which is that the Qur'an is an antidote to various psychological and physical ailments. Second, Tafsir Ibn Qayyim Al-Jauziyyah in the book al-Bada'I at-Tafsir Ibn Qayyim and at-Tafsir al-Qayyim seen from Johanna Pink's typological theory is included in the category of scientific interpretation, even though she did not directly write it down. But absorbed and collected by his student named Muhammad Uwais an-Nadwi. These results reveal the typological model of Ibn Qayyim's interpretation. Here, the researcher recommends researching Ibn Qayyim with hermeneutical analysis to find the background of Ibn Qayyim's interpretation in depth.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the concept of destiny from the perspective of Muhammad Syahrur and Robert Kane. The Destiny considered by Most of people to be something particular, turns out to be something that humans can still control. This opinion is undoubtedly contrary to the opinion of the majority. According to Syahrur, humans still have a significant role to play in determining their age, sustenance, and deeds, while according to Kane, humans have free will, which is not even suitable with God's provisions. This research is library research using Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis method, which consists of text analysis linguistically, discursive analysis or text production, and social practice analysis. This study concludes that Syahrur's opinion regarding the concept of destiny that humans can still control is obtained from an analysis of the verses of the Qur'an, which talk about age, sustenance and human charity with a linguistic approach and Kane uses a critical-logical analysis approach to the previous opinions that has existed Before. The result of the study found that according to Syahrur, the destiny is in the form of a collection of terms and conditions collected in one book, if these terms and conditions are fulfilled will cause a certain phenomenon, whether it is death, life, long or short life and so on. Meanwhile, according to Kane, human free will is like the garden of the forking path, where humans can choose which way to go without coercion from any party.
