Abstract

This review article examines the revolutionary possibilities of machine learning (ML) and intelligent algorithms for enabling renewable energy, with an emphasis on the energy domains of solar, wind, biofuel, and biomass. Critical problems such as data variability, system inefficiencies, and predictive maintenance are addressed by the integration of ML in renewable energy systems. Machine learning improves solar irradiance prediction accuracy and maximizes photovoltaic system performance in the solar energy sector. ML algorithms help to generate electricity more reliably by enhancing wind speed forecasts and wind turbine efficiency. ML improves the efficiency of biofuel production by optimizing feedstock selection, process parameters, and yield forecasts. Similarly, ML models in biomass energy provide effective thermal conversion procedures and real-time process management, guaranteeing increased energy production and operational stability. Even with the enormous advantages, problems such as data quality, interpretability of the models, computing requirements, and integration with current systems still remain. Resolving these issues calls for interdisciplinary cooperation, developments in computer technology, and encouraging legislative frameworks. This study emphasizes the vital role of ML in promoting sustainable and efficient renewable energy systems by giving a thorough review of present ML applications in renewable energy, highlighting continuing problems, and outlining future prospects

Abstract

The issue of plastic waste has become a global concern that urgently needs to be addressed. On the other hand, agricultural waste also poses its own challenges. Indonesia is an agrarian country where the agricultural sector plays a significant and vital role in the national economy. One of the major agricultural products in Indonesia, particularly in West Sumatra, is areca nut (betel nut). The areca palm sheath is largely underutilized by farmers, often left unused or burned, which in turn leads to another issue—air pollution. The transformation of organic solid waste into eco-friendly products is still rarely implemented. This study aims to design, assemble, and test a simple press mold to process areca palm sheaths into environmentally friendly food containers. The results show that the mold was successfully designed with dimensions of 140 mm x 140 mm x 20 mm, using ST 42 material. Mold testing with temperature variations (100°C, 150°C, and 175°C) and durations (1 minute, 2 minutes, and 5 minutes) indicated that a temperature of 150°C produced the best results in terms of color and shape accuracy. This innovation is expected to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in reducing plastic waste and utilizing areca palm sheath waste.

Abstract

Pelatihan manajemen K3 yang dilakukan oleh tim PKM pada siswa SMK N 1 Batusangkar menunjukkan bahwa peserta sangat mengikuti pelatihan dengan baik dan memahami materi dengan sangat serius. Pelatihan ini bertujuan memberikan edukasi penting terhadap manajemen K3 dilapangan kerja. Metode diterapkan pada pelatihan ini adalah memberikan materi dan memberikan contoh simulasi K3 yang benar saat dilapangan, agar siswa-siswi ini bisa paham dengan APD (alat pelindung diri) yang merekan gunakan. Setelah pelatihan berlangsung untuk mengetahui seberapa berhasil siswa-siswi ini paham terhadap manajemen K3, tim PKM memberikan angket kepada siswa-siswi SMK 1 N Batusangkar guna evaluasi materi yang disampaikan. Hasil dari kuisioner ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan K3 di SMK N 1 Batusangkar berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman peserta tentang K3 dan budaya K3 di tempat kerja, serta meningkatkan tingkat kepatuhan peserta terhadap aturan K3. Namun, masih terdapat beberapa peserta yang kurang memahami manajemen K3 dan tidak terlatih dalam menanggulangi kecelakaan kerja. Kegiatan pelatihan K3 ini diadakan berguna untuk memperkuat pemahaman peserta tentang budaya K3.

Abstract

Nagari Lubuk Alung berada di Kecamatan Lubuk Alung, Kabupaten Padang Pariaman, dengan luas Nagari ± 21,12 kilometer persegi terdiri dari 8 korong, berpenduduk 26.014 jiwa terdiri dari 13.089 laki-laki dan 12.925 perempuan. Mata pencarian masyarakat nya sebagian besar di sektor pertanian sebanyak 70 persen dan 30 persen di sektor perdagangan, jasa, pengrajin dan guru. Permasalahan yang ada di Nagari Lubuk Alung adalah banyaknya sampah yang dihasilkan dari sampah rumah tangga dan pasar. Dalam satu hari dihasilkan sampah ± 8 ton, kira-kira 70% nya (5,6 ton) adalah sampah organik. Untuk itu Wali Nagari Lubuk Alung berusaha mencari terobosan agar masalah sampah ini bisa teratasi dengan baik, salah satunya adalah memanfaatkan sampah organik dan anorganik menjadi bernilai. Diantaranya menjadikan sampah plastik untuk kerajinan dan sampah organik untuk makanan maggot. Untuk itu Nagari Lubuk Alung mendirikan Badan Usaha Milik Nagari (BUMNAG) La Sejahtera dengan fokus usahanya pada pengolahan sampah dan budi daya maggot, tetapi terkendala pada proses pengolahan pakan maggot yang masih manual khususnya pada proses pencacahan sampah organik sebagai makanan maggot. Dengan keadaan ini sangat diperlukan mesin pencacah sampah organik yang bekerja secara kontinyu dengan kapasitas maksimal ±500 kg/jam dan diterapkan langsung ke Usaha peternakan maggot di Nagari Lubuk Alung. Dari hasil pengujian mesin didapatkan mesin bekerja dengan baik, putaran mesin bisa diatur sesuai dengan yang diinginkan minimal putaran 750 rpm dan maksimal 1800 rpm. Putaran bisa diatur dan dirobah-robah karena menggunakan engine dengan daya 5,5 HP. Kapasitas mesin maksimal ± 460 kg/jam, dan hasil cacahan yang didapatkan sangat kecil sampai berbentuk kental. Secara keseluruhan mesin dapat mencacah dengan baik.

Abstract

Candlenut seeds are one of the plants that grow in Indonesia. Candlenut leaves and seeds have many benefits that are useful for human life. Candlenut oil can be used as a raw material for making varnish, paint, soap, fabric oil, resin, synthetic leather, lubricants, compost, and cleaning or polishing mixtures. Candlenut fruit has a shape ranging from oval to round, green to brownish green, with a length of ± 5–6 cm and a width of ± 5-7 cm. One candlenut contains one to three candlenut seeds. To get the candlenut seeds, they must be removed from their hard and thick shell by breaking them.So far, getting candlenut seeds has been done by breaking them manually by hitting them one by one. This is certainly not effective and takes a long time. Based on this, a tool was designed and made for breaking candlenut shells using a 2 HP motor drive. This candlenut shell breaker tool consists of a throwing part that rotates vertically, which, due to the centripental effect, throws the candlenut kernels against the wall of the breaker. The broken candlenut kernels and shells fall down into the filter section to separate the kernels and shells, then the candlenut kernels go inside. holding containers. To get the ideal launcher rotation, several speed variations were tested, namely: 1. 250 rpm, 2. 350 rpm, and 3. 500 rpm. Of the three variations of rotation, the best rotation was obtained with the shell breaking and the seeds releasing well without breaking, namely at 350 rpm.
