Abstract

This research is motivated by the development of increasingly sophisticated technology. WhatsApp social media is a means for interacting, sharing information, education and entertainment. So that the use of WhatsApp social media has its own impact on its users. This study aims to: (1) To determine the use of WhatsApp on the social interaction of the people of Lok Batu Village, Batu Mandi District, Balangan Regency. (2) Identifying and understanding the positive and negative impacts of using WhatsApp in the Lok Batu village, Batu Mandi District, Balangan Regency. This research method uses a qualitative research approach with a qualitative descriptive type of research. The informants in this study were the people in the village of Lok Batu. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews and documentation, with primary and secondary data sources. Data analysis technique using triangulation technique. This research was reviewed using Social Interaction theory by Gillin and Gillin. From the results of research that has been carried out, it is found that the use of WhatsApp in Lok Batu village is used as a communication tool that makes it easier for users to interact remotely. Through various available WhatsApp features such as group chats, voice calls, video calls, sharing photos, videos and documents. If WhatsApp is used wisely it will have a positive impact on WhatsApp users, but if it is misused it will have a negative impact on WhatsApp users and society. In this case, the author looks at the impact of using WhatsApp social media in terms of Social Relations, and the functions of the media, namely the Information Function, Educational Function and Entertainment Function. The positive impact of social relations (strengthening friendships, keeping yourself from being less social and as a forum for exchanging ideas) negative impacts (irritability, forgetting time and spending time on WhatsApp). The positive impact of the Information Function (Notification of the latest news that can be easily spread and as a forum to promote business) the negative impact of the information function (easily consumed by hoax news). The positive impact of the Educational Function (increased knowledge and as a medium of online learning). Positive impact Entertainment function (as an entertainment medium) negative impact (triggering social jealousy and excessive joking).Keywords: Impact, WhatsApp, Social Interaction, Lok Batu Village. Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi dengan seiring perkembangan zaman teknologi semakin canggih. Media sosial WhatsApp menjadi sarana untuk berinteraksi, berbagi informasi, edukasi dan hiburan. Sehingga penggunaan media sosial WhatsApp memiliki dampak tersendiri terhadap penggunanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : (1) Untuk mengetahui penggunaan WhatsApp terhadap interaksi sosial masyarakat Desa Lok Batu Kecamatan Batu Mandi Kabupaten Balangan. (2) Mengidentifikasi juga memahami dampak positif dan negatif penggunaan WhatsApp masyarakat di kampung Lok Batu Kecamatan Batu Mandi Kabupaten Balangan. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan tipe penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah Masyarakat di desa Lok Batu. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan, didapatkan hasil bahwa penggunaan WhatsApp di desa Lok Batu digunakan sebagai alat komunikasi yang memudahkan penggunanya untuk dapat berinteraksi dengan jarak jauh. Melalui berbagai fitur WhatsApp yang tersedia seperti chat grup, panggilan suara, panggilan video, berbagi foto, video dan dokumen. Dari sisi Hubungan Sosial, dan Fungsi media yaitu Fungsi Informasi, Fungsi Edukasi dan Fungsi Entertaimen (Hiburan). Dampak positif hubungan sosial (mempererat silaturahmi, menjaga diri agar tidak kurang pergaulan dan sebagai wadah untuk bertukar pikiran) dampak negatif (mudah tersinggung, lupa waktu dan menghabiskan waktu dengan WhatsApp). Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of social capital in the context of village head leadership using the social capital theory framework proposed by Robert D. Putnam. This social capital includes three main elements: trust, social norms, and social networks. This study is a case study involving several villages in order to understand how social capital influences the leadership quality of village heads. Data was collected through interviews with village heads, community members and local stakeholders. Data analysis was carried out by identifying and evaluating the level of trust in society, the social norms that guide the village head's behavior, and the social networks built by the village head in carrying out his duties. The research results show that social capital has a significant impact on the leadership quality of village heads. Village heads who can build and maintain a high level of trust in their community tend to be more effective in carrying out their duties. In addition, social norms that value integrity and transparency in leadership have a positive influence on leadership quality. Strong social networks also help village heads access the resources and support needed to overcome challenges This study provides in-depth insight into how social capital plays a role in the context of village head leadership and has important implications for the development of more effective leadership policies and practices at the village level. Future research could delve deeper into specific aspects of social capital that have a significant impact in the context of village leadership.

Abstract

Wind is a natural phenomenon involving the movement of air caused by differences in atmospheric pressure. In the interpretation of Al-Jawahir by Tanthawi Jauhari, wind is understood as a sign of Allah's greatness, with significant biological and ecological functions, such as facilitating rainfall, plant pollination, and energy distribution. This study employs a literature review method with a qualitative approach to analyze the functions of wind based on Qur'anic verses and scientific exegesis. The findings reveal that the Qur'an uses the term "al-riyāh" for mercy and "al-rīh" for punishment, highlighting its multifaceted role in supporting ecosystem balance and sustaining life. Tanthawi Jauhari's scientific interpretation emphasizes the importance of wind in natural processes such as bird migration, irrigation, and pollination, demonstrating the harmonious relationship between Qur'anic teachings and modern science. This article underscores that wind not only serves as a blessing for humanity but also as a reminder of Allah's sovereignty in governing the universe.

Abstract

The lack of community participation in empowerment programs and the low quality of human resources are the main problems in Sungai Seluang Pasar Village. So that the solution designed by the service team to overcome these problems is to carry out a service program. The service activities designed are based on the community's social routine which includes 3 aspects, namely environmental aspects, educational aspects, and social or community aspects. The implementation of activities applies a community empowerment approach, which includes enabling, empowering and protecting. Activities are carried out systematically from the initial stage to the final stage to achieve targeted outputs and outcomes. The service was carried out in Sungai Seluang Pasar Village, Belawang District, Barito Kuala Regency, on July 16, 2023 to August 21, 2023. The results obtained from this service are the level of community participation in the empowerment program began to increase compared to before and the quality of Human Resources (HR) also began to improve. This can be seen from the strengthening of community awareness of the environment so that they are able to maintain and utilize the environment properly, increase community knowledge, and active involvement of the entire community in every social activity. The community service carried out is able to be one of the solutions to overcome the problems found in Sungai Seluang Pasar Village. With a service program designed based on social routines carried out, the community is able to be empowered and community welfare can increase.

Abstract

The issue of waste in Bahalayung Village, Bakumpai Sub-district, Barito Kuala Regency, which is located on the banks of the Nagara River, is still a serious problem that needs to be resolved because it affects various aspects of community life. Until now, the handling of the waste problem has not been clearly seen in the village, so the service team implemented the “Waste-Free Bahalayung Village” program as a solution. The community development program is implemented through a community empowerment approach. The team tried to encourage the awareness of the government and the people of Bahalayung Village to pay attention to environmental cleanliness and always come up with initiatives to maintain environmental sustainability. This program includes enabling and empowering, which is then elaborated through various activities, namely: 1) Establishment and provision of waste bank facilities; 2) Waste management through production houses; 3) Nature school; 4) Environmental action; 5) Distribution of environmental awareness questionnaires and community skills and, 6) Village discussions. The implementation of the program was supported by the live-in method in the village for 37 days, which took place from July 16 to August 21, 2023. The results achieved from the implementation of this service program are changes in the community's perspective on waste and increased community concern for the cleanliness of the village environment. Through this program, the team believes that the government and community of Bahalayung Village will pay more attention to the waste problem and come up with sustainable initiatives in dealing with it. The implication is that Bahalayung Village will move gradually towards the realization of a zero waste village.

Abstract

Kebudayaan membuat sekelompok orang yang beragam menjadi satu dalam suatu komunitas yang memunculkan ciri khas yang berbeda dari masyarakat dengan kultur dominan, membuat mereka menjadi subkultur baru di masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana komunitas yang memiliki anggota beragam menjadi subkultur baru korean wave dengan ciri khas yang ada di tengah masyarakat. Adapun pendekatan penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil bahwa anggota komunitas teume kalsel yang mempunyai keberagaman perbedaan masing-masing tidak mempermasalahkan dan menghalangi mereka dalam bersosialisasi dengan menjadikan semua yang dilakukan pada saat di dalam komunitas sebagai aktivitas untuk bersenang-senang. Mereka terbuka kepada publik tentang siapa mereka dan tidak pernah menutupinya. Di dalam komunitas para anggotanya memiliki kebiasaan, identitas, norma dan nilai, gaya hidup serta kepercayaan yang berbeda dengan masyarakat kebanyakan. Dari perbedaan tersebutlah menjadikan mereka subkultur baru. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari mereka yang menyerap dan membawa nilai-nilai kebudayaan dan kebiasaan penggemar k-pop dari negara korea ke indonesia dengan ikut serta mengadakan event yang didekorasi dengan pernak-pernik dan atribut-atribut tentang idolanya, kemudian dengan otomatis membawa berbagai merchandise dan barang k-pop lainnya, sampai dengan menyelaraskan pakaian. Lingkungan komunitas yang terbuka dan menerima keberagaman memberikan rasa aman dan nyaman pada anggotanya untuk mengekspresikan kegemarannya.
