Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed how poorly prepared the world is for a pandemic and how easily viruses spread in our interconnected world. The response to COVID-19 in Indonesia has been hampered by a surge in infection and re-infection cases, an ill prepared of healthcare system, low booster vaccination coverage, the emerging of new sub variant, inconsistent implementation of public health measures, and communication barriers. Nevertheless, as infectious disease outbreaks become more frequent, it is hoped that national health security resources will be identified and strengthened. This will enable the nation to keep pace with spreading diseases and become more resilient to future threats. COVID-19 exposes strengths and weaknesses while also creating threats and opportunities. An analysis of the COVID-19 pandemic strategy was conducted using SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis based on Indonesia's experience with the response and countermeasures to COVID-19. The objective of this study is to analyse all the factors involved in the COVID-19 pandemic response so that lessons can be learned towards an effective public health emergency response. The results highlighted strengths, identified weaknesses, and provided recommendations for the future. This would be useful in responding to current threats to global health security and preparing for future ones.

Abstract

The One Health paradigm, with its integral recognition of human, animal, and environmental health interdependencies, has garnered increasing endorsement in recent years. Equally important is the agro-maritime sector, given its crucial role in food security and international commerce, which is now acknowledged as a fundamental component within the One Health strategy. Contemporary complex health issues such as zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and food safety threats necessitate a holistic, interdisciplinary approach that considers the trifecta of human, animal, and environmental health. The amalgamation of agro-maritime and One Health strategies is paramount in addressing burgeoning challenges that imperil global health security. These encompass the proliferation of zoonotic diseases, the surge in antimicrobial resistance, and escalating concerns surrounding food safety. The significance of advancing surveillance, monitoring, and control measures, along with fostering innovative technologies and strategies, is underscored to pre-empt and mitigate the impacts of these health threats. Spanning agriculture, aquaculture, and fisheries, the agro-maritime sector's substantial role in global health security is highlighted due to its profound influence on food production, nutrition, and environmental sustainability. The One Health model, a comprehensive approach acknowledging the intertwined nature of human, animal, and environmental health, provides a robust framework to confront emerging global health threats such as antimicrobial resistance, zoonotic disease spread, and climate change-induced health impacts. The discourse emphasizes the criticality of interdisciplinary collaboration and the deployment of a holistic perspective to tackle complex global health challenges. By strengthening the argument for the convergence of One Health and agro-maritime sectors, this paper seeks to galvanize proactive and collaborative efforts among stakeholders to fortify global health security in an increasingly unpredictable world

Abstract

ABSTRACT Belleza Kedaton Hospital Bandar Lampung faces challenges in ensuring the quality of health services in the midst of its transformation into a general hospital and the implementation of a partnership with BPJS Health since 2024. This study aims to examine the relationship between service quality dimensions (Tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy) with patient satisfaction, and its impact on hospital operational performance. This study uses quantitative with a Cross Sectional approach. The sample was 100 general patient respondents and 100 BPJS patients, with a Stratified Random Sampling technique. Data were collected through SERVQUAL (Service Quality) questionnaire and numeric scale for satisfaction and analyzed using Univariate. The results showed the gap score of attributes - attributes of statements based on the SERVQUAL dimension in patients before BPJS in 2023 the highest gap score was at attribute statement number 27 “The nurse informs and explains the actions to be taken” of 1.75. While the lowest gap score is on statement attribute number 41 “Ease and speed of the administrative process” of 0.06. In 2024, the highest gap score is on statement attribute number 31 “Patient administration procedures are easy and straightforward” by 2.17. While the lowest gap score is on statement attribute number 41 “The appearance of health workers and personnel (doctors, nurses) is clean and neat” by 0.17. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that the analysis of customer perspectives based on the emphaty dimension decreased satisfaction in 2023 respondents who stated that they were satisfied by 71 people (71.0%) and decreased in 2024 to 47 people (47.0%), the Tangible dimension found a decrease in satisfaction in 2023 respondents who stated they were satisfied by 65.0% and decreased in 2024 to 49.0%, the reliability dimension of service performance satisfaction decreased satisfaction in 2023 respondents who stated they were satisfied by 77. 0% and decreased in 2024 to 46.0%, the assurance dimension of service performance satisfaction decreased satisfaction in 2023 respondents who expressed satisfaction of 74.0% and decreased in 2024 to 42.0%, the responsiveness dimension of service performance satisfaction decreased satisfaction in 2023 respondents who expressed satisfaction of 70.0% and decreased in 2024 to 40.0%. Based on the analysis of service performance satisfaction, it can be seen that there was a decrease in satisfaction in 2023 respondents who stated that they were very satisfied by 46.0% and decreased in 2024 to 14.0%.  Keywords: Customer Perspective, Satisfaction, Service PerformanceABSTRAK Rumah Sakit Belleza Kedaton Bandar Lampung menghadapi tantangan dalam memastikan mutu pelayanan kesehatan di tengah transformasi menjadi rumah sakit umum dan penerapan kemitraan dengan BPJS Kesehatan sejak 2024. Abstract

Pneumonia causes 2.56 million global deaths annually, with current therapies limited by antimicrobial resistance and adverse effects. Traditional medicinal plants offer multi-target potential through anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory mechanisms. This review synthesizes knowledge on molecular biomarkers in pneumonia pathogenesis and evaluates therapeutic potential of medicinal plants, particularly Coleus amboinicus. A comprehensive literature search was conducted across PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, and Web of Science covering publications from January 2000 to June 2025. Inclusion criteria encompassed studies investigating molecular biomarkers, pneumonia therapeutic pathways, or medicinal plants with respiratory therapeutic properties. Narrative synthesis was employed due to study heterogeneity. Of 1,247 articles identified, 10 studies met inclusion criteria and were utilized in the analysis. Key inflammatory biomarkers included IL-6, TNF-α, and IL-1β, increasing from 5.05 mg/dL (controls) to 25.30 mg/dL in bacterial pneumonia. Neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) formation emerged as a central mechanism (47.36% of protein targets). Coleus amboinicus demonstrated 139 bioactive compounds with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity and antioxidant properties (DPPH EC₅₀ 32.67-152.8 µg/mL). Traditional medicinal plants, particularly Coleus amboinicus, modulate key molecular pathways in pneumonia through sophisticated multi-target mechanisms, supporting integration of biomarker-guided approaches in contemporary respiratory care.
