Sensing of objects occurs through the five human senses, namely sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch by themselves. The dominant contraceptive methods are injections (34%) and birth control pills (17%). Abstract

The importance of proper nutrient intake for children's growth and development is a major concern for parents, providing exclusive breastfeeding until the age of 6 months is a very important first step to ensure children get adequate nutrition for growth and development. At the age of 6 months, the child enters a transition period where the introduction of complementary foods (MP-ASI), MP-ASI is an additional source of nutrition given to children after the age of 6 months to meet their nutritional needs apart from breast milk. The importance of providing complementary foods on time in the age range of 6-12 months is crucial, as children are very vulnerable to malnutrition during this period. Therefore, complementary foods become the main support in maintaining the nutritional balance of children from 6 months to 2 years of age. By providing appropriate complementary foods, it is expected that children can grow and develop optimally and avoid the risk of malnutrition that can interfere with their health and growth.

The statistical results of the chi square test between the level of knowledge and the incidence of anemia obtained a p-value of 0.001 0.05 (p α), so there is a relationship. The statistical results of the chi square test between the level of knowledge and the incidence of anemia obtained a p-value = 0.251 0.05 (p α) so there is no relationship. The statistical results of the chi square test between parity and the incidence of anemia obtained p-value = 0.452 0.05 (p α) so there is no relationship. Conclusion: Most pregnant women at Hanna Kasih Primary Clinic Medan 2023 did not experience anemia (54%), with a moderate level of knowledge (62.5%), low income (75%), and risky parity level (83%). Abstract

Iron-deficiency anemia during pregnancy remains a major public health concern in developing countries. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of iron and folic acid supplementation, known as iron tablets, in reducing the risk of anemia among pregnant women. A descriptive qualitative literature review method was employed by analyzing nine eligible studies published between 2013 and 2023. Articles were selected from databases including Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect using specific keywords. The findings suggest that regular consumption of iron tablets, particularly starting in the second trimester and meeting the minimum recommended dose of 90 tablets, is effective in improving hemoglobin levels and lowering anemia prevalence. However, compliance remains a significant challenge, influenced by side effects, maternal knowledge, and social support. The review highlights the need for behavior-based interventions and family involvement to enhance adherence. The implication of this review supports the integration of targeted health education and follow-up strategies within antenatal care services to reduce anemia-related risks in pregnancy.
