Abstract

Technology Development in the era of industry 4.0 is characterized by the use of automatic technology machines. But in small and middle-scale industries still use the conventional machine. Low-cost packaging machines need to be developed by utilizing the Raspberry Pi control system. The purpose of this research is to design, produce, and test the performance of powder packaging machines with the Raspberry Pi control system. This research uses an experimental research model with observational techniques in the form of a performance test. This research resulted in the design of the Raspberry Pi control system on a powder product packaging machine with a capacity of 240 pcs/hour. Based on the results of the control system performance test, it was found that the packaging was running well and consistent. From the rotation and stop pause of the stepper motor which has been set, it produces an average weight of the packaging and its contents weigh 13.737 grams. The difference in weight of the average product with the highest weight and the lowest weight is 0.063 grams and 0.057 grams. With a difference of less than 0.1 gram, it indicates that the weight resulting from packaging sugar products is good and consistent. In the pressing process, the temperature sensor takes temperature readings correctly, so that the heater can reach the press temperature of 1500C. Based on the trials and calculations that have been done, it is obtained 2,640 packages within 1 hour. This amount fulfills the initial target of designing a powder product packaging machine with Raspberry Pi control.

Abstract

Seiring perkembangan zaman kebutuhan energi terus meningkat.

Abstract

In this study, the effectiveness of the combination of the Savonius and Darrieus wind turbines was investigated, which is a vertical axis wind turbine. The aim is to determine the optimal blade design and analysis of the combined blade design compared to the stand-alone design. The method used is CFD simulation to find the torque value used for power calculation. From all simulations, the highest torque and power occurred at a wind speed of 5.58 m/s. The simulation shows the Savonius, Darrieus, and Savonius-Darrieus combination turbine variations, - so then as result from the Savonius-Darrieus combination obtained the best results, namely the torque of 82.59 Nm and the power of 2194.41 W. In conclusion, the turbine model with a combined blade design produces better torque and power compared to stand-alone turbine models.

Abstract

A Wheeled Mobile Robot (WMR) is a robot that is often used for transporting a good in the industry. This study was conducted to integrate WMR with the Internet of Things (IoT) to control robots remotely, whereas wheeled robots with a DC motor driving power. Graphical User Interface (GUI) is applied for controlling this device via an Android smartphone. As a result; the robot can be driven via GUI commands with a forward speed = 0.535 m/s; reverse speed = 0.4 m/s; right-hand rotation speed = 25.2 rpm; left-hand rotation speed = 23.4 rpm. These robot performances are strongly influenced by the design, construction of the robot, the load received by the driving motor, and the capacity of the driving motor.

Abstract

One of the driving components of electric vehicles that are often used is Brushless (BLDC) motors which have advantages such as high efficiency, large torque density, and precise speed control. This study aims to evaluate the effect of variations in permanent magnet type and stator winding configuration on the performance of Brushless DC (BLDC) motors. Two types of permanent magnets, NdFe35 and SmCo24, are compared based on their electromagnetic characteristics, such as torque, rotational speed, efficiency, and current consumption. In additional, the stator winding parameters were varied, including wire diameters between 1.3 mm and 1.6 mm and the number of conductors per slot between 14 and 23. The simulation results conducted using ANSYS Maxwell show that the configuration combining NdFe35, an optimal number of 14 conductors per slot, and a large wire diameter of 1.6 mm delivers the best performance, with a maximum torque of 325 Nm, maximum power of 2.91 kW, efficiency of 79%, and a speed of 1241.5 rpm. Although the current consumption is high, the resulting power and torque performance are proportional.

Abstract

Karangharjo Village, Kragan Subdistrict, Rembang Regency, is a coastal village where the majority of the population works as traditional fishermen using boats <5 GT. Fish catch productivity is greatly influenced by the seasons, especially during the west wind period when catches drop dramatically to <10 kg/day. The low level of education, with 48.22% of the population only completing primary school, further limits skills and income levels. This situation leads to poverty and livelihood uncertainty. The objective of this community service programme is to develop alternative livelihoods through welding training using Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) techniques as a strategy for diversifying fishermen's livelihoods. The implementation methods include planning, theoretical training, basic welding practice, application of workplace safety standards, and evaluation of participants' skills. The results of the programme show an increase in welding knowledge and skills among the 20 trainees, with some of them having the potential to develop their own welding businesses. This programme contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), and supports the strengthening of the local economy through the empowerment of fishermen.
