Abstract

Adolescent pregnancies resulting from premarital sex impacted adolescents, their families, and any potential offspring. Society viewed such pregnancies sas abnormal, careless, and embarrassing. Given that adolescents are still under the of the influence of  their families, parental roles were crucial in preventing these pregnancies, despite adolescents increasingly choosing their own friends . In the contemporary digital age, gadget addiction further complicates family dynamics, particularly in managing adolescent behavior. Thus, this study aims to investigate how parents supervise, communicate, and educate their adolescents to prevent teenage pregnancies and other juvenile delinquency. Conducted in Banguntapan District, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, in February 2024, this qualitative study involved six women from the Youth Family Development program in Mertosanan Kulon as primary informants and the head of Mertosanan Hamlet as a triangulating informant. All informants were selected using a purposive technique.  Data collection was conducted through Focus Group Discussion (FGD)and analyzed using content analysis. Parents can contribute in preventing juvenile misbehavior, particularly when it comes to preventing unmarried pregnancies, by keeping an eye on, talking to, and educating their teenagers—. Fathers play a more crucial role in the upbringing and educatiing boys, while mothers are more critical for girls. Collaborative community efforts and a multidisciplinary educational approach emphasizing parent-adolescent relationships and communication are essential.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country in Southeast Asia which dominated by Muslim population. This condition brings halal products to have a very large market share potential, especially food and cosmetic products. A large number of Muslim consumers in Indonesia raises new challenges with the high public interest in Korean food and cosmetics products, which some types of products do not have a halal label. Because Korea is not a Muslim country, most of the imported products are not halal. That condition could be marked as the importance of awareness towards imported products that have non-halal status risk. Furthermore, due to the research limitation of Indonesian teenagers’ perspective about halal status, we need to provide more certain information about halal status. The method for this study uses a literature review by searching for a literature database obtained from the Google Scholar search engine with inclusion criteria such as articles in English or Indonesian, published between 2011-2021, accessible in full text, and articles discussing the halal status of Korean products and adolescent perspective. Indonesia, especially Muslim teenagers towards Korean cosmetic and food products. The results show that Indonesian teenagers’ huge interest in Korean products, the product’s halal status is one of the factors that affect teenagers' intention to buy Korean food and cosmetics and it works as a key factor/their priority in purchasing products. Teenagers are concerned about the halal status of Korean food and this aspect becomes a priority when buying Korean food. The conclusion of this study is that the halal status of Korean food and cosmetic products has an effect on consumer buying interest.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this seminar is to address the persistent issue of stunting, which remains a serious problem in Indonesia despite a decrease in prevalence from 2.8% to 21.6%. The specific aim is to enhance public health quality by increasing parental knowledge about stunting, particularly in Ara Condong Village, which has a nearly zero stunting rate. Method: The approach involves educational methods and direct observation of parents. The process includes several stages: (1) data collection on stunting issues in the village, (2) obtaining permission from the village office to conduct seminar activities, (3) coordination with posyandu cadres, and (4) socialization of seminar activities to pregnant mothers and mothers with toddlers. Practical Applications: The practical application of this seminar is to provide educational information to parents about stunting, thereby increasing their knowledge and understanding of the issue. This is expected to contribute to the prevention of stunting in Ara Condong Village. Conclusion: Based on the results of the KKN 175 program aimed at preventing stunting in Ara Condong Village, it is hoped that these efforts will improve the quality of human resources in the village. Despite the low stunting rate in the village, the community remains vigilant and proactive in preventing stunting through education and awareness.

Abstract

Consumption frequency and nutritional contribution of Korean snacks in culinary centers in YogyakartaBackground: The trend of Korean snacks in Indonesia makes people more consumptive. The Korean wave influences this through the popularity of K-pop and K-drama artists from social media platforms. The increasing consumption pattern of Korean snacks has made people less aware of the frequency limits of consumption and the nutritional content of Korean snacks. Objectives: This study aims to see the difference between consumption frequency and nutritional intake and analyze Korean snacks' nutritional contribution to visitors to Yogyakarta's culinary centers. Methods: This research is a quantitative descriptive design study with a cross-sectional approach involving 110 subjects with an average age of 18-30 years. The subject selection used the accidental technical sampling method. The questionnaire using the SQ-FFQ has been validated in previous research. The frequency of consumption of Korean snacks is categorized into three, namely rarely (1-3x/month), sometimes (1-2x/week), and often (≥3x/week). Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires directly at the research location. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis with the one-way ANOVA test. Results: The characteristics of respondents are that the majority are female (89.1%). The average consumer age group is 21-30 (56.3%). The distance from the residence and location of the culinary center is mainly in the distance category > 3 km (63.6%). The contributions of energy (44.5%), carbohydrates (64.5%), protein (73.6%), and fat (67.3%) from Korean snacks exceeded the intake limit. There is a significant difference between consumption frequency and nutritional intake of Korean snacks (p<0.05).Conclusions: Frequency of consumption shows a significant difference between the contribution of energy and macronutrients. The contribution of nutrients to visitors was found still to exceed the limit for food intake from snacks.

Abstract

Background: Elementary school children are in a period of rapid growth and development, which requires adequate nutritional intake. Unfortunately, many school-age children skip lunch or consume meals that lack nutritional value. School lunch programs have been proven to improve nutritional status, learning concentration, and student attendance. In Indonesia, school lunch programs have not been implemented evenly, particularly in public schools. The Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) has the potential to serve as a model area for the implementation of such programs; however, a readiness assessment is required beforehand, considering the perspectives of schools. Methods: This study employed a descriptive quantitative approach using a survey method. Samples were taken from several public elementary schools located in urban and semi-urban areas of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to school principals and key decision-makers within the school environment. The data were analyzed descriptively to identify trends, logistical readiness, and stakeholder support. This study obtained ethical approval from the Research Ethics Committee of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan with the approval code 012408284, issued on September 6, 2024.Result: Based on the survey results, it was found that school readiness in terms of infrastructure still faces several challenges. Though the school stated overall readiness, this school lunch program gives benefits such as food behavior change, increasing nutritional status, increasing student performance, and school reputation. Conclusion: Most elementary and Islamic elementary schools (MI) in Yogyakarta reported that they are not yet fully prepared to implement the school lunch program. However, they expressed willingness to participate if supported by the local government and provided with clear technical implementation guidelines. An initial intervention in the form of a pilot project is necessary to evaluate the program’s effectiveness and to make necessary operational adjustments
