Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving the optimal concentration of pineapple peel liquid organic fertilizer on the growth and production of red lettuce plants (Lactuca sativa var. Crispa)". This research was conducted in Modong Village, Tulangan Subdistrict, Sidoarjo Regency and continued at the Agrotechnology Laboratory of Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo University. The research was conducted from December 2022 to January 2023. This study uses a Randomized Group Design (RGD) with a single factor, namely the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer application of pineapple peel waste. The concentrations of liquid organic fertilizer of pineapple peel waste were 100 cc/l; 150 cc/l; 200 cc/l; 250 cc/l; 300 cc/l; 350 cc/l; 400 cc/l. The data obtained were processed using ANOVA, if there is a difference between treatments then it will be followed by 5% tukey test. The variables observed were plant height, number of leaves, wet weight, dry weight, root length, and harvest index. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of liquid organic fertilizer pineapple peel waste significantly affects the observation variables of plant height, number of leaves, wet weight, dry weight and root length. While it is not significantly different on the observation variable of harvest index. The optimal application of liquid organic fertilizer pineapple peel waste is with a concentration of 250 cc/l (N4).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of coco coir POC in hydroponic nutrition on the growth and yield of mustard greens (Brassica rapa L.) This research was conducted in October 2022 - February 2023, using a single factor randomized block design and repeated 6 times with the following treatments (i) P1 = Without POC + AB Mix Nutrition 100%; (ii) P2 = 25% POC + 75% AB Mix Nutrients; (iii) P3 = 50% POC + 50% AB Mix Nutrition; (iv) P4 = 75% POC + 25% AB Mix Nutrients; (v) P5 = 100% POC + 25% AB Mix Nutrients. The observed variables consisted of plant height, root length, leaf area, fresh weight, dry weight and harvest index. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) then followed by the Honest Significant Difference tukey test at the 5% level. The results of the riset showed a very real response at the age of 21, 28 and 35 HST on the observation of plant height variables, as well as on the wet weight and dry weight variables and the harvest index. However, it showed no significant response to observing root length and leaf area.

Abstract

Ranting Muhammadiyah Kemasan, in collaboration with KKNT-T students, focuses on community empowerment and environmental improvement at Masjid Al-Muhtadin. The main challenges are the lack of green space and poor waste management. The program consists of three stages: Observation, Implementation, and Maintenance. The observation stage identifies environmental issues such as disorganized construction materials and insufficient green areas. Implementation includes planting ornamental and TOGA plants and providing waste bins for organic and inorganic waste separation. Maintenance involves watering and educating the community on cleanliness. As a result, the aesthetics and comfort of the mosque environment have improved, TOGA plants offer long-term benefits, and community awareness of mosque cleanliness has increased, strengthening collective responsibility.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to emphasize the crucial role of halal certification programs in advancing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to the next level. MSME development is an indicator of increased productivity, ensuring sustainable marketing. Halal certification serves as an effective communication tool for consumers to identify halal products, aligning with the mandates of Indonesian Law Number 33 of 2014 on Halal Product Assurance. Method: The community service initiative was conducted in the Candi District, Sidoarjo Regency, targeting MSMEs in collaboration with Muhammadiyah Candi branch members. The program included two main stages: socialization and assistance. Socialization sessions were held at Kedung Peluk Village’s BUMDes and covered the Islamic perspective on halal, relevant regulations, the halal certification application process via the information system http://ptsp.halal.go.id, Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH) documentation, and practices to maintain product halal status. Results: As a result of the initiative, MSME participants gained comprehensive knowledge about the halal certification application process, familiarity with the information system used for application, and the ability to prepare and manage SJPH documentation to ensure their products' halal status. Novelty: This program uniquely combines practical assistance and educational outreach tailored for MSMEs in a specific local context. By addressing gaps in awareness and procedural knowledge about halal certification, the initiative not only bridges informational divides but also empowers MSMEs to align with national halal product assurance regulations effectively.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to enhance food security by empowering the members of Pimpinan Daerah Aisyiyah (PDA) Sidoarjo through the utilization of narrow land for sustainable agriculture. Many Aisyiyah members possess home yards or small plots of land that remain underutilized, necessitating an intervention to promote efficient land use practices. Method: The program involved a series of activities, including socialization, training, and mentoring on various urban farming techniques such as polybag cultivation, hydroponics, and verticulture. These approaches were introduced to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure the proper cultivation of organic crops through hands-on learning. Results: The implementation of hydroponic and organic farming methods was successfully adopted by Aisyiyah members, leading to an increase in household-scale agricultural productivity. Participants were able to cultivate crops until harvest, demonstrating the effectiveness of the provided training. Moreover, they developed the capability to create planting media and produce liquid organic fertilizers independently, reinforcing sustainable agricultural practices. Novelty: This initiative integrates community-based empowerment with technological advancements in urban farming, specifically targeting women-led organizations in the context of food security. The combination of hydroponic cultivation, organic farming, and independent fertilizer production offers a replicable model for optimizing land use in urban and peri-urban settings.

Abstract

Pupuk NPK menyediakan unsur hara makro untuk mempercepat pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman cabai rawit. Zat Pengatur Tumbuh Gobest membantu merangsang perkembangan akar dan meningkatkan ketahanan tanaman terhadap stres lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk NPK dan ZPT Gobest terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman cabai rawit (Capsicum frutescens L.). Percobaan dilakukan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan dua faktor, yaitu dosis pupuk NPK (100 kg/ha, 150 kg/ha, dan 200 kg/ha) dan konsentrasi ZPT Gobest (1 ml/liter, 2 ml/liter, dan 3 ml/liter) yang diulang sebanyak tiga ulangan. Parameter yang diamati meliputi tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, dan jumlah cabang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk NPK 200 kg/ha dan ZPT Gobest 2 ml/liter memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman, seperti tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun, luas daun dan jumlah cabang. Abstract

Napa cabbage, a leafy vegetable highly sought after by Indonesian consumers due to its rich content of pro-vitamin A, ascorbic acid, and fiber, was the subject of this study. The aim was to determine the most effective concentration of lamtoro liquid organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of napa cabbage plants. The research took place in Modong Village, Tulangan District, Sidoarjo Regency, with follow-up observations conducted at the Agrotechnology Study Program Laboratory during October-December 2022. A non-factorial Randomized Group Design (RBD) was employed, consisting of 7 treatments: P0 (control), P1 (5 ml/L), P2 (10 ml/L), P3 (15 ml/L), P4 (20 ml/L), P5 (25 ml/L), and P6 (30 ml/L). The experiment was repeated 3 times, resulting in 21 experimental units, and data analysis included the 5% BNJ test. Variables observed encompassed plant height, number of leaves, root length, wet weight, dry weight, and harvest index. The findings indicated that administering lamtoro liquid organic fertilizer at the highest dose of 30 ml/L had the most significant impact on plant height and leaf number in napa cabbage plants, while other parameters such as root length, fresh weight, dry weight, and harvest index were not significantly affected.  Highlights: Importance of Napa Cabbage: The abstract highlights the importance of Napa cabbage in Indonesia due to its high nutritional content, which includes pro-vitamin A, ascorbic acid, and high fiber. Effectiveness of Lamtoro Liquid Organic Fertilizer: The study aims to determine the best concentration of lamtoro liquid organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of napa cabbage plants. The study shows that the highest dose of 30 ml/L of lamtoro liquid organic fertilizer had the best effect on the growth of plant height and number of leaves. Experimental Design: The study used a non-factorial Randomized Group Design (RBD) with 7 treatments and was repeated 3 times to obtain 21 experimental units. Abstract

This study employed a rigorous Factorial Group Random Design (RAK) method to investigate the synergistic effects of Liquid Complementary Fertilizer (PPC) and NPK Compound Fertilizer on the growth and yield of tomato plants. The research consisted of two key factors: PPC with four dosage levels (control, 3 g/L, 6 g/L, and 9 g/L of water) and NPK Compound Fertilizer with four levels (control, 200 kg/ha, 400 kg/ha, and 600 kg/ha) - all replicated three times. Data on critical plant parameters such as height, leaf count, flower abundance, and fruit production were meticulously gathered and analyzed. Remarkably, the combined application of PPC and NPK exhibited significant enhancements in both growth and yield, surpassing the effects observed from individual applications. Our findings highlight the immense potential of this innovative fertilizer combination in revolutionizing tomato crop production, offering a promising avenue for farmers to meet agricultural demands efficiently. Highlights: Utilized a robust Factorial Group Random Design (RAK) methodology to examine the impact of PPC and NPK Compound Fertilizer on tomato plant growth and yield. Investigated various dosage levels of PPC and NPK, each replicated three times for precise data analysis. The synergistic effects of the combined application outperformed individual applications, showcasing a promising approach to optimize tomato crop production.
