Abstract

One of the subjects that requires planting concepts from an early age is mathematics. At school age, especially grade 3 students, the student's age has reached 9 to 10 years. Students at that age, among others, are happy with activity exercises and are happy with activities in the form of competitions. Based on this, learning should be packaged in the form of activities. At the elementary level, one of the materials that is the problem for students is multiplication and division. This material is basic in mathematics but it is often found that there are junior high school students who do not know the results of multiplication under 10. Jarimatika is a method for teaching addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to students, especially at the elementary level. Jarimatika is an abbreviation of finger and arithmetic. As the name implies, the media in this method are the fingers. Based on this community service activity, it can be concluded that the students are enthusiastic and happy with the teaching of multiplication and division with Jarimatika. In addition, students are motivated to answer questions from the teacher.

Abstract

Pandan wangi leaves are often used as a flavoring (corrigen saporis) and an aroma (corrigen odoris). The use of pandan wangi leaves as a food preservative was found in several studies. The content of flavonoid compounds, saponins, polyphenols, tannins, and alkaloids is thought to have antibacterial activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the chloroform fraction of ethanolic extract of fragrant pandan leaves as antibacterial against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The active compounds contained in the chloroform fraction of ethanolic extract of pandan wangi leaves was identified by phytochemical screening test. This research is a true experimental research with posttest only control group design. The antibacterial activity was tested using the agar diffusion method (Test Kirby & Bauer) using the cup - plate technique. The doses used for each extract were 2,000 mg (10mL), 5,000 mg (25mL), and 10,000 mg (50mL). Phytochemical screening test using test tube. The results of the antibacterial activity were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis Test and the Mann-Whitney Test. The results showed that the chloroform fraction of the ethanol extract had antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, but not against Escherichia coli. Abstract

Infectious diseases and skin disorders that are harmful to human health can be caused by gram-positive bacteria, one of which is Staphylococcus aureus. One of the natural ingredients used as medicine is the binahong plant (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis). In order to develop traditional medicinal preparations, further research is needed in the form of transdermal patches with a combination of HPMC (Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose) and PVP (Poly Vinyl Pyrolidone) polymers. Furthermore, the formulation of the best transdermal patch was tested for antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The ethanol extract of binahong leaves was obtained by maceration method using 70% ethanol as solvent. The formulation of the transdermal patch preparation was made with three formulations with a combination of HPMC: PVP, namely 1:3 (F1) , 1:1 (F2), and 3:1 (F3). Evaluation of the physical properties of the transdermal patch consisted of a weight uniformity test, a thickness test, and a crease resistance test. The best transdermal patch was then tested for antibacterial activity. The antibacterial activity test of the transdermal patch formulation was carried out using the disc diffusion method (Kriby & Banner test) against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The test results show that the best formula is formula 2 with a ratio of HPMC and PVP of 1:1. The formula shows a smooth elastic patch surface, the patch thickness meets the uniformity requirements, namely CV <2% and is resistant to creases
