Abstract

According to 2021 Basic Health Research (RISKESDAS) data, 52.5 percent or only half of the 2.3 million babies aged less than six months are exclusively breastfed in Indonesia, or a decrease of 12 percent from the figure in 2019. Early breastfeeding initiation rate ( IMD) also decreased from 58.2 percent in 2019 to 48.6 percent in 2021. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between early initiation of breastfeeding and the length of expulsion of the placenta in the third stage of labor at the Ar Rasyid Islamic Hospital in Palembang. This research uses survey research with a cross sectional approach design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, namely using a random method. Analysis uses the Chi-square statistical test. The total sample of researchers was 79 respondents. Based on the research results, it was found that 75 (94.9%) of those who carried out Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD) and the duration of normal placental expulsion was ? 15 minutes were 76 (96.2%), that there was a significant relationship between Early Breastfeeding Initiation and Duration. Expulsion of the Placenta in the Third Stage of Labor with a value (p-value = 0.006). It is recommended that hospitals always carry out Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD) to reduce the risk of bleeding.

Abstract

Menopause is a natural biological process that occurs in every woman, marked by the cessation of the menstrual cycle due to declining estrogen levels. This phase is often accompanied by various physical and psychological complaints, such as anxiety, sleep disturbances, and muscle pain. One non-drug method that can be used to relieve these complaints is self-directed finger acupressure therapy. This study aims to determine the effect of finger acupressure therapy on reducing menopausal complaints and anxiety levels in menopausal women. The study design used a pre-experimental approach with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. A total of 60 menopausal women who met the inclusion criteria were selected through a purposive sampling technique. The intervention was carried out for 6 days, each session lasting 15–20 minutes. Data were collected using the HARS questionnaire to measure anxiety and the MRS to assess menopausal symptoms. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test showed a significant reduction in anxiety levels (Z = -6.861; p = 0.001) and menopausal complaints (Z = -7.681; p = 0.001) after acupressure therapy. The majority of participants experienced a reduction in anxiety levels from moderate to mild, and physical complaints decreased from moderate to mild or nonexistent. Self-acupressure therapy using the fingers has been shown to be effective in reducing anxiety and menopausal complaints and can be a safe, practical, and self-administered non-pharmacological therapy option at home.

Abstract

Background: One of the therapies for CKD patients is hemodialysis (HD), but the HD procedure requires a long and periodic time which can cause physiological and psychological problems experienced by patients such as fatigue, anxiety and sleep disorders. One of the non-pharmacological treatments to overcome anxiety is foot massage therapy. The purpose: of this study was to determine the effect of providing Foot Massage therapy on anxiety levels in chronic kidney failure patients in the hemodialysis room of Pertamina Hospital Palembang. Method: The research method used in this study was pre-experimental with a one group pre-test and post-test design approach. The population in this study were all hemodialysis patients at Pertamina Hospital Palembang as many as 20 people. The sampling technique used total sampling with a sample of 20 respondents. Data collection used a questionnaire sheet. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis using the Paired Sample T Test. Results: The study showed that before Foot Massage therapy, 10 respondents (50%) experienced mild anxiety and after Foot Massage therapy, 8 respondents (40%) did not experience anxiety. The results of the Paired Sample t Test obtained a p value = 0.000, which means that there is an effect of providing Foot Massage therapy on the level of anxiety in chronic kidney failure patients in the hemodialysis room of Pertamina Hospital Palembang in 2024. It is hoped that it can help hemodialysis patients to reduce anxiety levels by providing foot massage therapy as one of the ongoing therapies to be carried out or interpreted in reducing anxiety in the hemodialysis room of Pertamina Hospital Palembang.
