Abstract

Teknik vertikultur memungkinkan produksi dalam skala besar di ruang yang kecil, menghasilkan hasil yang cepat, kemudahan relokasi, dan tingkat keberhasilan yang tinggi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pangan, khususnya sayuran, di tingkat rumah tangga. Setelah kegiatan ini, masyarakat dapat mengaplikasikan dan memanfaatkan ruang terbatas di halaman rumah mereka untuk menyediakan sayuran sehat bagi keluarga mereka. Metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah dengan penyampaian materi melalui pendekatan partisipatif, diikuti dengan pelatihan vertikultur. Berdasarkan hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang telah dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan dan penerapan pertanian vertikal telah memberikan pengetahuan baru bagi warga Desa Kayu Manis. Masyarakat kini dapat memanfaatkan halaman mereka untuk kegiatan pertanian vertikal guna menyediakan sayuran rumah tangga, meskipun dengan keterbatasan lahan dan ketersediaan air, sehingga dapat membantu mengurangi pengeluaran pangan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Coffee cultivation is an agricultural sector that requires a scientific approach to increase productivity and efficiency. The use of mathematics in agricultural management is still rarely applied systematically, even though various studies show that number-based analysis can help optimize resources. The integration of mathematical concepts in coffee farming can be a solution in facing the challenges of climate change and crop yield uncertainty. This research aims to examine how the application of mathematics can increase efficiency in cultivating coffee plants. The main focus of this research is quantitative analysis of water management, fertilizer distribution, and crop yield predictions based on mathematical models. This study also assesses the impact of using calculation methods on farmers' economic stability and environmental sustainability. This research uses a quantitative approach with survey methods and case studies on several coffee farming groups in Indonesia. Data was obtained through direct observation, interviews, and statistical analysis of production patterns and crop distribution. Simple mathematical models are used to measure the effectiveness of irrigation planning, fertilizer application, and crop stock management. The research results show that farmers who apply a mathematics-based approach experience an increase in productivity of up to 20% compared to traditional methods. More efficient resource management also has an impact on reducing operational costs and increasing resilience to external factors such as weather and market price fluctuations. Integration of prediction models helps farmers make more precise decisions regarding planting and harvest times. This research concludes that the application of mathematics in coffee farming contributes to increasing efficiency, environmental sustainability and farmer welfare. Education and training regarding calculation-based methods are important steps to expand the application of this strategy. Further studies are needed to develop more complex models with the integration of digital technology to increase the precision of analysis in coffee cultivation.

Abstract

Karakterisasi, variabilitas genetik dan heritabilitas tanaman tapak dara penting diketahui pemulia untuk melaksanakan seleksi dalam meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas tanaman tapak dara sebagai tanaman hias. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh informasi variabilitas dan heritabilitas berbagai karakter 13 genotipe tapak dara. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan Oktober 2020 sampai bulan Februari 2021. Percobaan bertempatkan di screen house Perumahan Rakyat, Kota Bengkulu. Penelitian ini disusun dalam rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) faktor tunggal yang terdiri dari 13 genotipe tapak dara dengan tiga ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada 13 genotipe tapak dara terdapat keragaman pada karakter kualitatif yaitu bentuk daun (memanjang dan jorong), tipe pertumbuhan batang (menggantung dan tegak), warna utama corolla (pink pucat, peach, putih, pink fanta, apricot, pink taffy, lavender, magenta, rose pink, pink kemerahan, pink, baby pink, dan orange), dan warna tengah corolla (pink pucat, peach, putih, pink fanta, merah, french rose, baby pink, dan orange). Ragam genetik diantara 13 genotipe tapak dara bernilai 0.01-32.15 (sempit), dan nilai heritabilitas karakter berkisar rendah-sedang (2-50%). Dugaan kemajuan genetik yang memiliki nilai tinggi yaitu pada karakter jumlah kuntum bunga per buku (20%) dan jumlah cabang (23%).
