This research was done in Subdistrict Sendang Agung as an area under the jurisdiction of PKSM to assist submission of HKm license. The data was analized by Chi Square test, meanwhile to detect the correlation level of respondent factors with partner role is using coefficient contingency correlation analize. Based on analize result partner role level is obtained in high classification, partner role is as dynamist, mediator, facilitator, motivator, and educators. Internal factors companion that has a strong enough relationship with the role of companion is the number of dependents, long-serving, and cosmopilitaness, where as age, income, as well as information disclosure had uneasy relations. External factors companion that has a strong relationship with the companion role is recognition of the success and intensity of supervision, facilities have less close relationship level with the role of companion.

Abstract

Local knowledge of rubber latex processing is important for village communities that depend on rubber plants for their livelihood. This research aims to determine the processing of rubber latex in agroforestry carried out by the community in Menggala Mas Village, Lampung Province, Indonesia. This research approach is qualitative. Data was obtained by observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Then, the data was processed by making data transcripts, coding, categorizing, drawing temporary conclusions, triangulating, and drawing conclusions so that the results obtained could be analyzed to determine the data processing. Local communities carry out rubber in agroforestry. The research results showed that three applications of agroforestry planting patterns were found, namely alley cropping (alley pattern), Trees along border (fence pattern), and random mixture (random pattern). The dominant combination in alley cropping is rubber-pulai, and rubber-mentru-afrika wood. The dominant combinations in Trees along the border are rubber-acacia, rubber-jackfruit-cempedak, rubber-petai-teak. The dominant combinations in the random mixture are rubber-jengkol, rubber-petai-jengkol-acacia, rubber-jackfruit-cempedak, rubber-pulai-noni-jengkol, rubber-banana-gadung-sungkai. The rubber latex processing process in agroforestry is carried out traditionally, starting from the tapping process, sap acidification, sap harvesting (napeu), sap separation, and sales and harvesting of agroforestry crops. The community's local knowledge has been passed down from their parents to reduce the costs of processing rubber latex from expensive materials so that the community can gain more profits. This has been proven if local communities can manage their land well, which can become a long-term source of livelihood. The government needs to assist with strategies for processing rubber latex as well as managing rubber agroforestry land to increase farmers' knowledge and harvest yields

Abstract

Community perspectives are important for wildlife, as they impact their contribution to wildlife conservation. This study aims to analyze community perspectives on wildlife in the Talang Ponijan and Sidodadi I forest farmer groups, Lampung Province, Indonesia. The method in this study uses a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, involved observation, and documentation studies. The data collected was analyzed descriptively to illustrate how the community's perspective on the existence of wildlife. The results showed that there are similarities in the views of the Talang Ponijan and Sidodadi I communities towards the existence of wildlife. The people of Talang Ponijan and Sidodadi I have a negative view of the existence of wild boar (Sus scrofa), bear (Helarctos malayanus), bajing (Callosciurus notatus), tiger (Panthera tigris), monkey (Macaca fascicularis), and macaque (Macaca nemestrina). Negative views arise because they are considered crop pests and destroy gardens. They are also considered a nuisance and a threat to safety. Gibbon (Symphalangus syndactylus), bats (Chiroptera sp.), and birds have a positive impact as they act as seed dispersers, pest controllers, and coffee quality indicators. However, their behavior towards wildlife sustainability shows differences. Some people in Talang Ponijan are still involved in practices that harm wildlife, such as monoculture, poaching and land clearing. Meanwhile, the Sidodadi I community tends to prioritize wildlife-sustainable agricultural practices such as shade coffee systems and planting high canopy trees. The government needs to provide guidance to increase community capacity and strict and effective law enforcement is important to prevent illegal activities.
