Abstract

This paper examines a holistic study of analyzing several factors affecting service quality andtheir correlation with characteristic of customers based on value and life style. Furthermore, customer’s perception of service quality can be drawn from those relationships. Exploratoryfactor analysis and quantitative analysis is employed with case study of beauty salon serviceat Bandung and Tokyo. The results indicate how the quality of services is perceived differentlyby customers who have different value and life style, and also describe significant relationshipbetween value and life style with the affecting factors of service quality.Key words : service quality, value and life style, customer perception, beauty salon.

Abstract

The fashion industry is the biggest contributor among the 14 creative industries in Indonesia. Nowadays many apparel companies are shifting toward the vertical integration. Since speed is everything to be successful in the apparel industry, fast fashion retailers must quickly respond to the market demand. This papers aims to develop a model of the supply chain of a small and medium scale enterprise (SME) of an apparel company in Indonesia and to propose a decision support system using System Dynamics (SD) and helps the management to identify the best business strategy. Simulated scenarios can help the management to identify the most appropriate policy to be applied in the future. Case study method was used in this research where data were collected from a typical fast fashion firm in Indonesia that produces its own wares ranging from raw materials to be ready-to-wear clothes, has three stores, a warehouse and is running online sales system. We analyses the result of many simulations in a fashion company from an operational point of view and from them we derive suggestions about the future business strategy in a small and medium fashion company in Indonesia. Abstract

Abstract.  The current paper examined the level of food or store priorities of undergraduate students in Bandung City to promote better understanding of young generation in Bandung City. Based on two authors' theoretical foundation and Health Promotion Model, student's demographics, characteristics, food choice determinants, and store choice determinants are used as dimension that may consist of eating behavior. The questionnaire's survey of lunchtime eating behavior to the two universities, i.e., Institute Technology Bandung (ITB) and Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR) in Bandung City. The Selection of respondents took simple random sampling. Mann-Whitney U-test, Kruskal-Wallis test and ANOVA were used to examine the effect of consumer demographics and consumer characteristics for food and store choice determinants. A total of 251 undergraduate students participated; 54.6% were Males (n=137) and 45.4% were Females (n=114). Most of respondents were Moslem (48.4%) or Christian (40.6%). “Calorie”, “Degree of Congestion”, and Atmosphere (interior and exterior) were less important when they choose food or store. Moslem respondents tend to care food nutrient compared to the other religions. The result of this study is the priority of choosing food and store by respondents and showed national difference by using previous related research. Keywords: Eating Behavior, Food Choice Determinants, Store Choice Determinants, Bandung City, Undergraduate Students.

Abstract

Governments  around  the  world  have  developed  e-Government  programs  hoping  to  obtain  great benefits. However, many e-Government projects have failed to deliver their promises. Some of such failures  are  thought  to  be  the  results  of  lack  of  understanding  about  the  relationships  among 'technologies',  'information  use',  'organizational  factors',  'social  contexts  involved  in  the  selection, implementation and use of information and communication technologies (ICT)'. These factors stated above might have produced mismatches and unintended consequences. This research draws on not a few precedent studies as to those factors, and the case of the e-Government program in Bandung municipality, Indonesia, is assumed as a typical example of municipalities in developing nations. In this study, a simulation tool which helps to find the best way to create the efficient and useful e-Government is presented. In particular, the model, which is the core of the simulation tool, takes not only the supply side perspective which describes the mechanism of creating and operating the e-Government system but also the demand side perspective which explains the people's intention of communicating with the eGovernment  and  their  behaviors  toward  it.  The  simulation  tool  is  constructed  based  on System Dynamics as an integrated and comprehensive approach to understand the e-Government and its use. Because of lack of suitable statistical data, simulations were carried out by using subjectively estimated but plausible values of parameters after the sensitivity analysis. From the results of simulations, very complicated trade-off relationships among the allocated project budgets to different types of programs were suggested. Keywords: e-government, demand side perspective, supply side perspective, system dynamics
