Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the development of a uterine involution phantom is needed in the Midwifery Department, Ministry Health Polytechnic of Palembang. This research is quantitative research with a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire. Filling out the questionnaire was carried out by fourth semester students who had passed the postpartum midwifery care and breastfeeding course. Almost all the statements the majority of respondents strongly agree. In the statement “The phantom needed is a phantom that can be palpated at the height of the uterine fundus according to the postpartum physiological age”. In the statement "In carrying out the practice of examining postpartum mothers' uterine involution in the laboratory, I need a mannequins/phantom media" 18 respondents (60%) stated that they strongly agree. Likewise, with the statement "As a prospective midwife, it is important for me to carry out physical examinations on postpartum women," there were 18 respondents (60%) who strongly agreed. Phantoom is needed for practical learning in the laboratory. Uterine involution phantoom that students need is a phantoom that can be palpated at the height of the uterine fundus, not just imagined

Abstract

One way to diagnose retained placenta is by palpating the uterus to confirm uterine involution. Midwives must have these competencies. One effort to improve student competency is the availability of complete facilities and infrastructure. Currently, the phantom used does not describe in detail the process of uterine involution according to postpartum physiology. Detailed and detailed phantoms are very expensive. This research aims to develop a burtas (paper pulp) uterus involution phantom. It is a phantom covering several parts: the pelvis, abdomen, uterus, and external genitalia. The research was done in the laboratory of the Midwifery Department, Health Polytechnic, Ministry of Health, Palembang, June-October 2023. Research Subjects were DIII Midwifery Study Program students by purposive sampling in small groups of ten people and large groups of 20 people. This research uses a development research design known as Research and Development (R&D). Research and development aim to develop an existing product that can be tested for feasibility and effectiveness. The stages are potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product trials, product revisions, usage trials, product revisions, and production. The burtas uterine involution phantom feasibility test results were declared very feasible by media experts with a score of 100%. Material expert with a score of 100%, Students 88.03%. The developed uterine involution phantom can be used as a phantom or alternative teaching aid for examining uterine involution in midwifery and breastfeeding care practicums.

Abstract

Midwives as one of the oldest professions in the world have a very important and strategic role in reducing Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR). Midwives must have clinical competence (midwifery skills), one of which is pregnancy examination. Clinical competence is obtained from clinical learning. Good clinical learning is one that is planned, one of which is using a learning contract. The purpose of the study was to determine the readiness of students who use learning contracts to carry out pregnancy tests in the third trimester. The research design is descriptive. The research sample is all fourth semester students of the Midwifery Study Program who have practiced in the Practical Field in 2019. The number of samples is 80 people. The sampling method is total sampling. The instrument used is an open ended question. Data analysis is univariate. Frequency distribution. The results are 87% optimal physical readiness, maximum 7.2%, 1.4% less. Emotional readiness 65.2% optimal, 10.1% maximum. Knowledge readiness 87% optimal, 11.6% maximum. In conclusion, more than half of practicing contract users learn that they have optimal readiness. The best readiness is the readiness of knowledge

Abstract

Background: Laboratory equipment requires good maintenance in order for the equipment to be used in the long term. The application of good maintenance is by carrying out technical matters and carrying out administrative activities in an orderly manner. The nursing laboratory at the research site still makes equipment maintenance scheduling manually. Maintenance has also not been carried out and documented properly. Objective: This study aims to produce a website-based information system (E-Labmaintainance) in the maintenance activities of nursing education laboratory equipment at the Poltekkes Kemenkes Palembang. Methods: The method used in this research is Research and Development (RND) through modification of 6 (six) research steps, namely identification and potential problems, product design, stage I design validation, design revision, stage II design validation and trial use. Validation was carried out by 2 (two) experts in technology and informatics. The trial of use was carried out by 5 (five) Educational Laboratory Staff on duty spread across 4 (four) nursing education laboratories, namely the Palembang Nursing Laboratory, Lubuk Linggau Nursing Laboratory, Baturaja Nursing Laboratory and Lahat Nursing Laboratory. The validity assessment uses the Aiken Item Validity Index formula. Results: The results of the research are in the form of e-labmaintenance web pages that have been validated and tested to penggunas. The final validation results from the expert obtained a validity value of “very high” with a value of V = 0.94. This is decomposed from the validity value of the application usability is very high (0.94), the validity of the ease of use of the application is very high (0.92), the validity of the ease of learning is very high (1.00) and the validity of pengguna satisfaction is also very high (0.85). The results of the trial to the pengguna also obtained the results of 'very high” validity with a value of V = 0.82. Conclusion: E-labmaintenance website is feasible to use in equipment maintenance activities in the nursing education laboratory of the Palembang Poltekkes Kemenkes.

Abstract

Tanjung Morawa.
