Abstract

Pandemi COVID-19 mendorong masyarakat lebih aktif menjaga kebersihan diri. Salah satunya adalah rajin mencuci tangan dengan sabun di mana pun dan kapan pun. Namun, terkadang banyak orang malas membawa sabun saat beraktivitas di luar rumah dengan alasan kurang praktis. Dewasa ini, masyarakat menginginkan sabun cuci tangan yang praktis untuk dibawa ke mana pun. Sabun kertas sendiri merupakan salah satu inovasi produk sabun yang tipis seperti kertas, sabun kertas ini akan larut bila terkena air serta digosokkan pada tangan akan mengeluarkan busa. Sabun kertas umumnya digunakan sebagai sabun cuci tangan sekali pakai karena ukurannya yang kecil dan tipis sehingga mudah dibawa ke mana saja dan cocok digunakan pada saat beraktivitas di luar rumah. Kegiatan dalam pengabdian ini berbentuk pelatihan pembuatan paper soap yang terdiri dari ibu-ibu PKK desa Sidodadi Ramunia, dengan metode pengabdian pemberian materi dengan metode ceramah dan tanya jawab, pra dan post test dan praktek pembuatan paper soap. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pembuatan paper soap (sabun kertas) yang diketahui berdasarkan hasil pretest yang awalnya 5% peserta mengetahui tentang paper soap (sabun kertas) setelah dilakukan kegiatan diperoleh 100% peserta telah mengetahui tentang paper soap (sabun kertas). Peningkatan pemahaman ini mengindikasikan keberhasilan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang telah dilakukan.

Abstract

Endophytic fungi are one of the microbes that have been widely used as biological control agents. Endophytic fungi produce metabolites that can inhibit the growth of pathogenic fungi on plants. This study aims to determine the ability of the metabolite compounds produced by endophytic fungi in inhibiting the growth of pathogenic fungi carried by chilli seeds. The method used was the culture of pathogenic fungi, the production of endophytic fungi metabolites using PDYB media and the inhibitory activity of endophytic fungi metabolites on the growth of chilli seed-borne pathogenic fungi Aspergillus fumigatus. The conclusion from the results of the study was that from 2 test isolates the percentage of CECL 38 inhibition against pathogen growth of Aspergillus fumigatus was 50,52% and CECL 19 was 1979%

Abstract

Abstract : Orangutan is classified as an endangered species. Forest clearance for a variety of purposes and functions over the region led to the limited habitat for orangutans. Orangutans habitat is fragmented into several regions led to the survival of a population of a species depends on habitat conditions. Performing a nest survey is important to give a deeper understanding of the ecology and help determine the best protective management measures. We provide basic data of orangutan density and orangutan nesting characteristics in protected forest area Sibongkaras village. This study was conducted in April 2019 until June 2019 in protected forest area Sibongkaras village, Pakpak Bharat. Tracking begins with observed the presence of a nest based on a purposive sampling method. And data retrieval was done by line transect method. Data analyzed at Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Sumatera Utara. Our result showed that the orangutan population density was 0.0072 individuals/km2 or 0.72 individuals/ha. The dominant position of the nest is in a position which is a position I nest close to the main stem of the tree with the nest number 13 (43.3%). Generally, the nest is found at an altitude of  >15 meters with a sum of 27 nests (90%).Abstrak : Orangutan diklasifikasikan sebagai spesies yang terancam punah. Penebangan hutan untuk berbagai tujuan dan fungsi di kawasan tersebut menyebabkan terbatasnya habitat orangutan. Habitat orangutan yang terfragmentasi menjadi beberapa wilayah menyebabkan kelangsungan hidup suatu populasi suatu spesies tergantung pada kondisi habitat. Melakukan survei sarang penting untuk memberikan pemahaman yang lebih dalam tentang ekologi dan membantu menentukan langkah-langkah manajemen perlindungan terbaik. Kami menyediakan data dasar kepadatan orangutan dan karakteristik sarang orangutan di kawasan hutan lindung Desa Sibongkaras. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan April 2019 hingga Juni 2019 di kawasan hutan lindung Desa Sibongkaras, Pakpak Bharat. Pengamatan dimulai dengan mengamati keberadaan sarang berdasarkan metode purposive sampling. Dan pengambilan data dilakukan dengan metode transek garis. Data yang diperoleh di analisis di Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Sumatera Utara. Hasil Penelitian kami menunjukkan kepadatan populasi orangutan di 0,0072 individuals/km2 atau 0,72 individu / ha. Posisi sarang yang dominan adalah pada posisi sarang yang berada di posisi paling dekat dengan batang utama, dengan jumlah sarang 13 (43,3%). Umumnya sarang ditemukan di ketinggian > 15 meter dengan jumlah 27 sarang (90%).

Abstract

Klambir village is one of the villages located in Hamparan Perak sub-district, Deli Serdang Regency. Deli Serdang Regency itself is one of the regions that has the largest Covid cases in North Sumatra besides Medan City and Simalungun Regency. So that the socialization regarding the making of hand sanitizers in one of them in Deli Serdang Regency is very important in order to disseminate the community to maintain health in order to break the chain of transmission of COVID 19. The expected output targets from this activity are: Pepople in Klambir village, especially the teenager can understand and able to practice the making of hand sanitizers, the community is more familiar with some natural home ingredients that can be used as the basic ingredients for natural hand sanitizers, people are more concerned with maintaining their own hygiene in order to break the chain of transmission of COVID 19 and hope that good cooperation can be established between UNUSU, the village government and the community Villages in order to support the Government's program to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19 in Indonesia.

Abstract

Eco farming fertilizers and vermicompost are very important in plant cultivation because they can affect plant growth. Various methods began to be developed in order to create quality organic fertilizers so that red chili plants grow well. The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not the effect of the eco farming fertilizers and vermicompost on red chili plant growth, knowing the right dose of eco farming fertilizer on red chili plants, and knowing the interaction between eco farming fertilizers and vermicompost on red chili plant growth. The method used was Factorial Random Block Design with 2 factors, provision of vermicompost (V) consist of 3 levels, namely V0 (0 g/polybag), V1 (25 g/polybag), and V2 (50 g/polybag). Eco farming fertilizer consists of 3 levels, namely E0 (0 ml mixed fertilizer/polybag), E1 (25 ml mixed starter/polybag), and E2 (50 ml mixed starter/polybag). Parameters observed were plant height (cm), stem diameter (mm) and root volume (ml). The result showed that the effect of vermicompost fertilizer and eco farming on the growth of red chili has no significant effect on plant height, stem diameter and root volume. The best dose was seen from the observation of plant height parameters, stem diameter and root volume when giving 25% vermicompost and 50 ml eco farming fertilizer on red chili. The interaction of vermicompost fertilizer and eco farming on the growth of red chili gave no significant effect on plant height, stem diameter and root volume.

Abstract

The community service aims to provide education and protection to the public regarding the dangers of corona virus which has an impact on health; distributing masks to the public, with the aim that mask users are protected from the corona virus; distributing hand sanitizers to the public, to kill bacteria and viruses on palms of the hands after activities outside the home. This community service activity is in the form of distributing hand sanitizer and masks carried out by lecturers at the Nahdlatul Ulama University of North Sumatera as a form of concern for the academic community for the community around the campus. Community service activities were carried out in village of Klambir V, Hamparan Perak District, Deli Serdang Regency. The method of implementing community service is carried out in 3 stages, namely the preparation stage, the implementation stage and the reporting stage. At the preparatory stage, all documents and products such as hand sanitizers and masks are needed to be distributed to the village community. The implementation stage is carried out by providing masks and hand sanitizers as well as educating the public on the importance of wearing masks and washing hands to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The last stage is the reporting stage, namely compiling the final report on community service activities. The results of this activity were 100 hand sanitizers and 5 dozen masks that were prepared and distributed to the public. There are still many people in the village of Klambir V who don’t care about COVID-19, which is marked by the fact that there are still many people who don’t wear masks and wash their hands with hand sanitizer. There are still many people who don’t know about the dangers of spreading COVID-19, so many still ignore the use of masks and hand sanitizer.

Abstract

Penanaman dengan metode hidroponik sangat mudah untuk dipraktikkan, karena media tanam dan wadah tanam yang digunakan dapat diperoleh dengan mudah yaitu dengan memanfaatkan barang bekas. Budidaya tanaman dengan teknik hidroponik mudah aplikasinya dengan hasil sayuran yang sehat dan subur serta dapat diolah menjadi minuman kesehatan. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan metode pelatihan dengan sistem pertanian hidroponik memanfaatkan barang bekas serta sosialisasi olahan sayur menjadi minuman kesehatan di Desa Dalu Sepuluh B, Kabupaten Deli Serdang dengan kegiatan: penyampaian  materi metode ceramah dan tanya jawab, pra dan post test, praktik perakitan instrumen hidroponik, praktik budidaya menanam secara hidroponik dan simulasi pembuatan minuman kesahatan berbahan dasar sayur. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dihadari 25 orang peserta pelatihan yaitu ibu-ibu PKK serta jajaran perangkat desa. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata pemahaman kelompok PKK Desa Dalu Sepuluh B Kec. Tanjung Morawa mengenai budidaya sayuran hidroponik dan olahan sayur menjadi minuman kesehatan meningkat hingga 95,4%, naik 20,27% dari pemahaman awal. Kemampuan menjawab soal meningkat pada evaluasi akhir yaitu 95,4%, hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pemahaman kelompok PKK Desa Dalu Sepuluh B Kec. Tanjung Morawa terhadap budidaya sayuran hidroponik dan olahan sayur menjadi minuman kesehatan. Terjadinya peningkatan pemahaman mengenai hidroponik menunjukkan keberhasilan kegiatan pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat di Desa Dalu Sepuluh B Kec. Tanjung Morawa.

Abstract

Kelangsungan hidup orangutan sangat bergantung dengan kondisi habitatnya. Sarang merupakan salah satu bukti yang paling akurat dalam menentukan keberadaan orangutan di suatu areal. Data mengenai karakteristik sarang dan pohon sarang orangutan sangat penting diketahui sebagai data awal konservasi orangutan, khususnya di areal restorasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis karakteristik sarang dan pohon sarang di hutan primer dan hutan restorasi Sei Betung. Sarang orangutan diamati selama enam bulan dengan menggunakan metode transek garis. Pada areal hutan primer digunakan enam transek, sedangkan di areal hutan restorasi digunakan lima transek dengan panjang transek masing-masing 1 km. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pohon sarang di areal hutan primer didominasi oleh Polyalthia sp. dari famili Annonaceae dengan posisi sarang yang mendominasi yaitu posisi dua. Sementara itu, pohon sarang di areal hutan restorasi didominasi oleh spesies Endospermum diadenum dari famili Euphorbiaceae dengan posisi sarang yang mendominasi yaitu posisi 3 dimana posisi sarang berada pada pucuk pohon.

Abstract

Green mustard or often also called mustard meatball is a vegetable commodity that has good opportunities or prospects to be cultivated in urban areas using polybag media. Chicken manure contains a lot of N element which is very good for leaf growth. While compound fertilizer NPK 16:16:16 is perfect because it has immediate nutrients such as Nitrogen, Phospot and Potassium which these nutrients will stimulate plant growth. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of giving chicken manure and compound fertilizer NPK 16:16:16 on the growth and production of mustard (brassica chinensis var. Parachinensis). This study used a randomized block design with 2 treatment factors and 3 replications. Which factor I consists of 4 levels A0 = No chicken manure A1 = Chicken manure 10 tons/ha (equivalent to 15 g/polybag), A2 = Chicken manure 20 tons/ha (equivalent to 30 g/polybag), A3 = Chicken manure 30 tons/ha (equivalent to 45 g/polybag) while the second factor consists of 3 levels, namely N0 without NPK fertilizer N1 = NPK fertilizer 450 kg/ha (equivalent to 0.675 g/polybag) N2 = NPK fertilizer 900 kg/ha (equivalent to 1.35 g/polybag), resulting in 12 combinations. Furthermore, the research parameters were seen from plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, root dry weight, root wet weight, biomass weight of the sample, wet weight of planting and root volume. So that the research results from the parameters seen there are only a few parameters that have a very significant effect such as leaf width and plant height. While the number of leaves and biomass weight of the sample had no effect, but not significant, while other parameters such as wet weight of planting, wet weight of roots, dry weight of roots and root volume had no effect, therefore to get more optimal results it is recommended to conduct further research. Key words : Chicken manure, compound fertilizer NPK 16:16:16, green mustard

Abstract

Lemon lime is one of the horticultural plants that have higher bioactive compounds than lime. Lemon is very much in demand by the public because it contains vitamins, minerals and fiber, besides that it is also often used as a flavor enhancer in regional specialties, so it has a fairly high economic value. The demand is so much that it is difficult for farmers to meet market demand, this is because the lemon cultivation system is so difficult.One way to propagate lemon lime plants can be done by shoot cuttings, namely in this way lemons are easier to root and have lower levels of phenolic compounds which act as factors that support root initiation on cuttings This research aims to find out there is an influence of natural ZPT (coconut water) on the success of Lemon shoot cuttings, To find out there is an effect of giving artificial ZPT (BAP) to the success of Lemon shoot cuttings, To find out there is an interaction of natural ZPT (coconut water) and artificial ZPT (BAP) on the success of Lemon shoot cuttings. This research was conducted Jl. Quarantine Ujung Kec. Medan struggle Kel. Sidorame Barat I Medan. This study consisted of a Complete RandomIzed Block Design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors, namely: Natural ZPT Factor (A) namely: A0 (Control), A1 (150 mg / L), A2 (200 mg / L) and A3 (250 mg / L). While the artificial ZPT factor (B) is: B0 (Control), B1 (0.1 ml / polybag), B2 (0.3 ml / polybag) and B3 (0.5 ml / polybg) there are 16 combinations of treatment and 3 repeats. The results of this study showed that there was an effect of natural ZPT administration on observation of stem diameter, but had no noticeable effect on observation, plant height, number of leaves, length of buds and number of buds. There is no effect of artificial ZPT giving on all observation parameters. There is no interaction on the combination of natural ZPT and artificial ZPT against all observation parameters. Keywords: Lemon, Shoot Cuttings, Natural ZPT, Artificial ZPT.
