Abstract

Decreased rice productivity due to high iron concentrations especially in the vegetative phase, this causes the morphological character of rice to be affected until the metabolic process is disrupted. This study used 6 varieties, namely Batu Tegi, Inpara 9, Situ Patenggang, Inpara 8, Hawarabunar and Inpago 8, with iron concentrations of 0 and 250 ppm. The seeds were germinated for 3 days, then planted in Kimura B 10% nutrient culture media for 9 days, for 2 weeks then each week the media was changed to 100% Kimura B solution with the addition of 250 ppm iron concentration which was sampled every week until the 35th day. The results of the analysis of variance of the variables of plant height and root length showed that the combination Inpara 8-01 was the best combination and had a significant effect compared to other combinations with an average value of 61.31 cm and 30.77 cm. In the variable number of leaves the best average value was found in the combination of Batu Tegi-01 and Inpara 9-01 which had a significant effect compared to other treatments with an average value of 5.87 strands and 9.60 strands, respectively. On the stem dry weight variable, the combination of Hawarabunar-250 ppm Fe had a significant effect on other treatment combinations with the highest value of 0.17 g and the lowest value of treatment combination Inpara 9-250 ppm with a value of 0.08 g. Based on the results of treatment with 250 ppm Fe stress on plant morphological characters, the Hawarabunar variety had the best response in tolerating Fe stress, while the Batu Tegi variety was the lowest in tolerating Fe stress.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of aluminum stress on rice varieties during the early vegetative phase using a nutrient culture medium. This research employs a completely randomized design with two treatment factors: rice varieties and aluminum concentration. The variety factor consists of Rindang 1, Situ Patenggang, Towuti, Inpago 8, Inpara, and Inpago 10, and the aluminum concentration is 0 ppm and 250 ppm. Rice seeds are germinated for three days. The seeds that have been germinated are then planted in Kimura B nutrient culture media. The condition of the planting media is Kimura B 100% and pH 5.5, and this is maintained until day 21 when the first sampling is conducted. Then, the solution is replaced with a new one using Kimura B 100% nutrient culture media and pH 3.5, along with the addition of 250 ppm aluminum, and this is done until day 28 when the second sampling is conducted. The same procedure is repeated until day 35 when the third sampling is conducted. The analysis results show that the application of 250 ppm aluminum stress significantly affects all rice varieties. In the variables of plant height and root length, the Rindang 1 variety has the highest average values, namely 178.17 cm and 92.12 cm, respectively. Meanwhile, for the variable of leaf count, the variety with the highest average value is Towuti, which is 28.60 leaves. Keyword: Aluminium, Nutrient Culture, Rice, Vegetative

Abstract

Sektor pertanian khususnya usahatani padi pasang surut, menghadapi penurunan luas lahan dan tingkat adopsi teknologi yang rendah salah satunya di wilayah Primer II Kecamatan Pulau rimau Kabupaten Banyuasin, Salah satu faktor kunci dalam keberhasilan adopsi teknologi usahatani adalah karakteristik komunikasi yang efektif antara petani, penyuluh, dan media. kajian penelitian untuk memahami bagaimana karakteristik komunikasi petani memengaruhi tingkat adopsi usahatani padi pasang surut di Kecamatan Pulau Rimau. Penelitian ini bersifat Kuantitatif. Penentuan lokasi penelitian dilakukan secara purposive di Primer II Kecamatan Pulau Rimau Kabupaten Banyuasin. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode incidental sampling, Sebanyak 30 orang petani dijadikan responden dalam penelitian yang dianggap telah mewakili populasi untuk keperluan analisis. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan menggunkan analisis tabulasi dan diuraikan secara deskriptif untuk mendapatkan gambaran mengenai karakteristik komunikasi terutama yang berkaitan dengan usahatani padi pasang surut dan uji korelasi Rank Spearman menggunakan IBM SPSS 25.  Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai Signifikansi 0,003 yang didapat dari output menunjukan bahwa hubungan antara karakteristik komunikasi dan tingkat adopsi usahatania padi dilahan  pasang surut Primer II Kecamatan Pulau Rimau adalah signifikan karena lebih kecil dari 0,005. The agricultural sector, particularly tidal rice cultivation, is facing a decrease in land area and a low level of technology adoption, especially in the Primer II region of Pulau Rimau District, Banyuasin Regency, One key factor in the success of technology adoption in farming is the effective communication characteristics among farmers, extension agents, and media. Research study to understand how the communication characteristics of farmers affect the level of adoption of tidal rice farming in Pulau Rimau District. This research is quantitative in nature. This research aims to determine the relationship between the communication characteristics of farmers and the level of adoption of tidal rice farming in Pulau Rimau District.. Sampling was carried out using the incidental sampling method, A total of 30 farmers were selected as respondents in the study, which is considered to represent the population for analysis purposes. Data processing was carried out using tabulation analysis and described descriptively to obtain an overview of the characteristics of communication, particularly related to tidal rice farming and Spearman rank correlation testing using IBM SPSS 25. The analysis results show that the significance value of 0.003 obtained from the output indicates that the relationship between communication characteristics and the adoption level of rice farming in the tidal land of Primer II District, Pulau Rimau is significant because it is less than 0.005.
